A melodrama about a married man who receives a huge sum of money from a woman to repay the huge debt he owes. Complications arise when the woman demands total submission from him, which jeopardizes his relationship with his wife.
Temptation is a strange story. It isn't necessarily about an affair. It is the story of a couple in a desperate situation that make desperate decisions which changes their lives forever. One woman turns from sweet to bitter while the other turns from cold to caring. The men's characters pretty much stay the same. I'm confused as to why I watched this and found it interesting. I found that my opinion on read morethe characters of this drama is very different from the opinions of other people.
I have read countless comments of symathy for Na Hong Joo played by Park Ha Sun. I'm probably the only person that finds her character to be at first fake, then bitter and hateful. I don't for a minute buy into the thought that she was ever sweet and innocent. She forgets that she started the chain of events with her desperate action. What did she think her husband would do knowing that he caused her to take that desperate act over money? She made Cha Seok Hoon played by Kwon Sang Woo do something that he would have never thought of doing except that he knew it would save his family monitarily. Then when he tried to make it up to her and prove his love, she turned away from him. To top it off she goes on to blame him for the misery she creates herself and becomes a bitter bitch that I just can't stand. Now, I don't for one minute believe that Yoo Se Young played by Choi Ji Woo is blameless. However, I don't think she is the evil crazy bitch that everyone seems to think that she is. I think she was lonely and bored. She says she was testing them, but I believe she just wanted what they had for even a minute. However, the writer turning her into a victim is stupid and doesn't fit her character as a strong successful woman. Now, for Kang Min Woo played by Lee Jung Jin. I find no redeaming characteristics in this narcissistic jerk who treats women like objects and has no respect for people in general. I can't stand him. The other actors are fine. If you like C.N.Blue, then you will enjoy Lee Jong Shin's part as Hong Joo's brother.
The music is excellent.
I probably won't rewatch this.
I'm not sure if I recommend this drama. Watch it at your own discression.
Do you want to hear a 2nd Opinion on this drama : ) ?
Ok, Let’s see, why did I like it :
A – Actors: I DO LIKE how fresh and dare the roles is for both main Leads, sure I am a fan for them together and separately and I do believe they are very good actors, However , to accept a role that you might be judged upon from read moreviewers as unfaithful husband and a cold hearted home wrecker women, this is intimidating ..
B – Storyline : The fact that there is no Black and White zones, it’s not villains and angels show, so if you are looking for a show like this, most properly you wouldn’t like this one , However this show beautifully mirrored how a human can change , grow to love, grow to hate , grow to be insecure even in the strongest relationships..
C – Most viewers who started the show , completed it even though they didn’t like it , sure for different reasons, but I would put this kind of drama on my drama list for sure , it got the factors that builds every good drama , good storyline with slow paced development..
D – The soundtracks , I needn’t say more, it’s purely addictive :) and well played..
Finally , the ending seemed realistic , reflecting hope , although I was quite sure the last 5 episodes could have been more invested and more detailed to enrich the ending more .. it left me feeling that may be 2 more episodes are needed.
Go ahead and watch the drama if you want a mature realistic romance
Both shows talk about extramarital affairs, how can a marriage break down because of doubts. Valid Love, does what Temptation did better, more in-depth, better polished characters, better reasons, more melodrama. However, Valid Love, in all its sadness, doesn't make you feel obligated to ship a certain couple, and has a lot less cheezy scenes.
Similar plot line treated a little differently. Both the dramas deal with spouses cheating on their respective halves. While Temptation has a little melo and dramatic tone to it, One Warm Word deals with it in a more realistic way.
I never knew drama watchers are this concerned with the principles and morality in the extent to be more like preachers than ordinary people. in real life you could fall in love with a married man or woman, you could even realize you enjoy an uncontroversial relationship. and that your longed survived love have disapear without you notice it.
I found Na Hong Joo character disturbed...her desprate behavior of suicide opened the wrong door and she continued with her negative atitude all the way. I belive she needed psychotherapy even before her husband business fail. the emptiness behind her smilles eventually got her and that was sad to watch nobody noticed she was in need for help.
I liked frankness in Cha Seok Hoon and Yoo Seo Young's character. I am still in episode 14 and have a way to go but yet I respect this two for confronting their life and feeling and endure the pain of understand themselves. as reflection is painful and unpredictable road.
A very good drama, although it's definitely not for everybody. I came back here after watching "My Wife Is Having an Affair This Week" and although I prefer that one, the feels for this are still alive. Great acting, coherent and believable characters and such a good message. I really am a sucker for realistic and darker dramas like this.
I think even during during CSH interview 10 years ago, he already had his eye on YSY. The attraction is there from the start and got fired up with the turn of events. The husband was tempted several times but tried his best to hold back and be a good man to his wife even when his heart left ahead of his body. The wife really knows her husband well, the feeling of losing his heart, thinking of another woman even when they are sleeping in the same bed. She should have stood up for him whilst he's trying his best to save his marriage, but no she had to push him to submit to the temptation. And when he finally did, resorted to revenge hurting only herself in the process. Loved this drama despite the negativity from others.
This drama was so good but I kinda get why many people hate it. It's because the characters are hateful! Some situations are disturbing and frustrating. In half of the drama I couldn't bear Kang Min Woo's action plus his behavior, But none of these mean it's a bad drama! The story behind every character felt real and believable. It was different from other K-dramas and also very addictive. I enjoyed it pretty much.
Basically a drama glorifying cheating and third party interference. A woman decides she wants to break up a marriage to have the man, she succeeds. Then the "bad person" becomes the cheated wife, her husband should not be called a cheater and home-wrecker is an admirable and attractive female. @[email protected] ROFL
I sincerely think any wise and mature mind will see the alarming problem with this plot and some viewers' reactions.
I know the main leads are supposed tobe the focus.... But I couldn't get over how a woman breaks up a marriage.....I can't be okay with that and he ends up okay doing what she's asking of him! I just kept feeling sorry for the wife
I don't know why I completed this drama instead of dropping it. There was no chemistry between the main characters and the story was boring. Sang Woo talent did not show in this drama. Well I got to see some veteran actors and some new faces.
