I'm a little surprised that I watched this entire show, because I was thoroughly disappointed by it early on. Too much of this drama just didn't make sense. First off - let's start with the title. While Yoon Se Na was an honest and well behaved girl, she was not lovely or playful, as many translations of the title says. I don't quite see why all the men wanted to spend time read morewith her, because she really sucked the life out of each encounter she had with other humans. For this I mostly blame the script, and some wooden delivery of it. The show did not make me believe that Se Na actually wanted to be a songwriter, she just seemed coaxed into it by Hyun Wook. It also did not help that almost every secondary plot point was either underplayed or completely disappeared.
My Rating: 6.0
In Short: This love story between a boring young girl and a completely unprofessional CEO was truly dull at times and slightly enjoyable at others. The only plot point I enjoyed was lonely idol Shi Woo, though they could have done way more with that as well. SIGH
Pros: The setting is one that I usually enjoy, though it did not feel organic in this show. However, the lighting and filming is really enjoyable, and the dog is cute. The music was also quite good.
Cons: It really bugs me when most of the characters on the show are senior management for some company, and absolutely none of them know how to do their job. Everyone at ANA was unprofessional, and let their personal feelings decide at every turn. Also, the main lead kept his secrets (and lies) for about 8 episodes too long. And the last episode of the show was one of the worst episodes I have ever seen. Somehow, our leading lady was suddenly a complete a-hole for no specific reason.
This is a pointless, boring drama. The story is meaningless. I was so bored through out this drama and I can't tell you how many times I rolled my eyes. The idols would have been better off actually writing music and show casing their talent toward an album release. It would have at least made it worth it. The last attempt at melodrama just left me pissed off. I only ranked this read morehigher because of Rain and L.
Although, I like the actors in this, there was no chemistry between them. It all felt forced and I really couldn't care about the characters or the romance. Krystal isn't a very good actress. I guess the age gap between her and Rain left the skinship to a minimum which left the romance between Se Na and Hyun Wook luke warm at best. L didn't have any chemistry with Krystal either, but at least Shi Woo and Se Na had a camaraderie that was believable.
The music is really good.
I will never rewatch this.
I don't recommend this drama unless you only watch it to see Rain and L...it Isn't even worth it for that to me when Rain and L have been in better dramas .
I am between liking this drama and feeling like it is just ok, I am not really sure on how I feel about is drama. People say there was no chemistry..I disagree...I didn't like Shi Woo, so I only shipped her with the main male lead. The reason I didn't like him? Because He publicly humiliated her. And I can't stand public humiliation and I don't really forgive for that. Also, he just ends up looking pathetic at how clingy to her he becomes. Ewwww. Look she doesn't like you and you know you are going to end up hurt anyways, so why keep on trying for? The ex/evil friend should have had a worse coming, though. And the father just bothered me so much, I think he deserved his wife actually leaving him, and stuff. When they said the excuse of how he was helping the lady, it just was not believable. It was more believable that he was cheating and had a secret second family going on. And his wife should have ended up with the guy from the office. The ending, should have been made a bit better. Don't leave such a open ending. I really don't like open/vague endings. She was leaving again? Why? She looks like a wimp. Seriously. And I cried so much when the dog died. Overall, this was really good, though. Oh, and what on earth is up with the main female leads shoving themselves into other people's families business? This is not the only drama I seen this in, I have seen this a lot. Let me use this drama as a example: Who cares if Shi Woo has issues with his mom? I mean, honestly anyways, I understood his point of view, and understand why he didn't want to talk or deal with her anymore. I would have just let him be with his mom and him. I just don't understand why they do it. It's not your family, none of your business. I swear, a character could have gotten abused and a main female lead will go...no go back! Communicate with them! WTF? It isn't your business, and you have no right to force someone else to talk to their parents or family when they don't want to...
This was a sweet, smooth, romance. There's nothing here but romance. That was the focus of the show and it was the only true focus. If you're looking for thrills and spills, this isn't it. I was looking for a sweet romance with a protective, caring, older man, and this was it. I loved it because there was no unnecessary drama from outside forces stepping in where they're not wanted (too much). This series was about him and her and their struggle with their feelings... that She's Too Lovely for him, lol. I enjoyed it a lot.
I'm not surprised with all the negative reviews and comments this is a kind of drama which will not be appreciated by everyone. I liked it regardless of Krystal's bad acting. For me a good drama doesn't have to have unpredictable, thrilling, creative, untypical, full of twists and events storyline to be enjoyable. I can fully enjoy a drama even if it was plain and simple. I loved Rain's performance and loved his relationship with his dog.
This drama wasn't so great, but it wasn't terrible either.tbh,I liked it.I don't think it's right to date your dead sister's ex,but I disagree that the main couple lacked chemistry.Rains acting is great but Krystal does have to improve.I liked her better in this than in the Heirs though
Which series are best ? I think those that you have good feeling about them ... i have very nice feeling about this series ... i watched it twice and really enjoyed .... i love rain too much ... and i love his passion in series ...
OMG i just made this account cause I cant stand this movie and feeling like spread the words.
1. KRYSTAL. Geeezzzeeeeee I thought she's beautiful and will probably be a nice match for rain. But DAANGG I was so wrong!!! Ive seen quite a lot of kdrama. This is ONE OF THE WORST! seriouslyyy krystal shoul neveeerrrr be the main actress. She has no acting skill, she's expressionless, and I was trying really hard but still cant get the cemistry between the two leading role. Like seriously!
Who on earth just suddenly thing 'oh we shoul make krystal the leading actress'. Seriously?!?
2. Poor story line
All was predicted from the very first episode. It's horrid. Usually there at least few important twist. But theres none in this movie. Everything feels forced and monotone.
3. Rain is a really good actor with a lot of skills. He shouldnt take this dram from the beginning. I honestly expect a lot more. Oh and hes the only reason i can watch to episode 13. But enough is enough. The leading actress' acting skill just drives me nuts and i just cant continue to the end. Sorry oppa
4. I know it seems like i critized krystal so much. But really im not a hater, i actually liked her until i see her poor poor poor acting skills. Anyway.... shes not really a good singer. Oh yes im sorryy to all of her fans. But i dont know, her voice just doesnt sound professional and a little uncomfortable to be heard. Sorry
5. The song. Its a drama about song writing. Dont you think the song should be a lot better here??? Seriously dude. Its even worse than average drama that doesnt even bring up the song to the movie.
Nah maybe i expect too much.....
Im still hoping they somehow remake this drama with different leading actress. Then let me know and ill totaly watch it again. Krystal......still cant think why would anyone choose her to be the leading role. Tsk tsk.
