Wow - if you like drama, especially makjang, this is very good. Lots of hate to spread around, & conflicts about who ends up w/whom, etc. The acting is superb, the main characters endearing (I'm sorry, I just cannot buy into all the hate for Jang Mi), the story has some very realistic elements imbedded in the usual over-the-top plotline, and the ending is highly satisfactory. I much prefer shaded characters to read more the two-dimensional good or bad types - and every single person in this drama (even the evil daddy) has a blend of positive & negative. Read the comments & you can tell, since there are fierce debates about the evilness of almost every character LOL Even Cha Dol (the main lead & supposedly perfect boy) has his moments (especially in the beginning) So I do indeed recommend this to anyone who loves long family dramas :D

This drama was very promising at the beginning but was quickly shot down before episode 20 unfortunately, the writer had no idea what they were doing with the story or the characters (I could have written this story better myself!). I had people torn up and brought together in my mind but everything I wanted went the way I didn't want it to go :/ I have nothing but bad things to read more say....

A couple great actors were wasted with this drama - I started it for Lee Jang Woo (and I loved his character, but around episode 20+ something I couldn't believe a decision he made that seriously made me wonder about his sanity... o.O) I was so ticked off I almost dropped it (and as I look back I should have) but I endured a torturous 30 more episodes :/ Jang Mi's family was horrible - everyone besides the sister. Cha Dol's family was awesome but rather stupid in choices they'd make... I loved the mother as well as the actress who played her (my forever East of Eden mom) but her talents were wasted here along with LJW's....

My most hated characters were: Baek Jang Mi, Baek Man Jong, Go Yeon Hwa, & Ma Pil Sun (another very talented "grandmother" actress wasted). BJM a girl with no brains. BMJ a money hungry loser. GYH a suspicious and naggy wife. MPS a horribly imaginative mother-in-law who only made her daughters marriage worse every day. - all these characters destroyed the drama for me.

Music: was ok but that's it.

I will NEVER rewatch this drama - it's one of the most disastrous and worst dramas I have seen up till now.

I only managed to complete it b/c of 3 reasons: I didn't want to drop yet another drama. I was curious about Cha Dol's past. & I wanted to see what would happen to the only saving grace couple of the drama - Park Se Ra & Go Jae Dong...

Just Don't put yourself through the torture of this drama.

In both series, the characters forget about their loved ones..in their paths to success..

While Rosy Lovers concentrates more on family affairs, Queen of Ambition goes beyond that and shows the dark desires of human nature.

Both have male lead acted by the same actor and they both started out their own business and succeeded in the drama. They both have a birth secret and dated with the opposition of their parents. Do watch the drama for more.

This is an excellent family drama. The chemistry between Jang Mi and Cha Dol is fantastic and the redemption arc for Jang Mi was quite satisfying. I loved how there wasn't any ridiculous makjang plot to the point of insanity and there was a good balance of makjang and humor. I loved all the characters and there were great portrayals of sibling and friend relationships. It is a plus that there isn't some ridiculous love triangle in the sense that the third person respects the decision of the leads and doesn't go through ridiculous lengths to manipulate them or something.

Only one or two characters were really evil in their intent but to be honest at one point it became so comical so I actually enjoyed watching it and looking forward to their inevitable downfall. I was engaged all the way through the show and I highly recommend people to watch it! I didn't have a problem with the cast though some plot lines for side characters were undeveloped. However it wasn't really detrimental to the show. Finally Jang Mi and Cha Dol are really made for each other. They are one of my most favorite OTPs ever! The inversion of the father leaving the mother and child trope is kind of rare for Korean dramas and this show definitely a model example of how it should play out!

I haven't watched parents more crazy & despicable than in this one so far in a drama. I don't want to believe that such cray cray parents could exist in RL..A lot of aggravating and crazy stuff happened. For the most part, it was still fun to watch though. It has a happy ending too.
I just wish it wasn't 52 episodes long. It took me one year to finish it..

Loved this drama from beginning to end! Some of the screaming was a bit over the top; but I've learned to even enjoy the way Koreans portray themselves ;) ALL of the actors were superb. Even the ones you love to hate are such good actors that no one would hate them if they hadn't played their parts correctly... The two leads, Lee Jang Woo and Han Sun Hwa went through so many ups and downs. Another couple couldn't have portrayed their drama as well as they did... This was one of many times I've seen Lee Mi Sook in dramas; but I must say that her performance in this drama as the Park's 'Mama" was one of her best performances. I laughed, cried, shouted at the bad guys, laughed, cried, and shouted some more. It was definitely a roller coaster ride of emotions ;) I think it's rated PG13, which it should be, so I would recommend it to anyone who likes family angst and melodrama and is over 13. It's long, but it gives time to watch the characters progress to a happy ending...

I like the stories although some parts are bit silly and illogical to me . Some repetitive scenes and boring scenes were skipped. However overall I enjoy watching this. :)
