Mochizuki Kotaro is a mild-mannered, unmanly high school student. One day, he visits a library and meets the mysterious librarian Himiko, who recommends to him an ancient book about a heroic general from the Sengoku period 400 years ago. Kotaro notices that he has the same name and age as the general described in the book, and he experiences a flashback... Kotaro later mentions the book to his father, who tells him read morethat he may be the descendent of a powerful samurai. At that moment, Kotaro receives a message from his childhood friend Ai telling him that their classmate Nakamura Tsuyoshi is in trouble. He rushes to the scene but doesn't have the guts to help, until another flashback transforms him into a samurai! --Tokyograph

I want more drama buffs out there to stop what they're doing and look at Japan for a second, give it a chance.

This is the perfect drama for a Saturday where you have nothing planned. It has a unique storyline which you guys have already read about. It has a wonderful cast(even if Haruma is an idol, I think he did a great job here). The music wasn\'t outstanding but it was alright. Rewatch value, i\'d give it a 7 since im not exactly one who likes rewatching things unless they are EXTREMELY funny. read more But that\'s just my own personal bias. Overall I\'d give this an 9/10.

Entertaining drama especially if you are a fan of Miura Haruma. He plays a double character here and it's good enough to see the shifting of characters from a student to samurai and actually it's the highlight of the series. It's the kind of show you may want to watch to be entertained when you are bored and nothing to do and if you want a light drama. I may re-watch it read more but maybe not alone but with friends or family members. I really recommend this for Haruma Miura fans for you to see another side of his acting. You can learn a thing or two as well.

Watched it for Ohgo Suzuka. The main lead was surprisingly good, especially in samurai mode.

Good drama, it was like watching an anime sometimes. It was not silly as I thought it would be... or at least, not THAT silly. The trio of Miura, Shirota Yuu and Anne was, in my head, the Trio of Pouts. They were constantly pouting (*3*) Shiruta Yuu can't act, and does Anne really sings in this dorama? That voice was really good O_O

Really shows how our ancestors would really be disappointed with some of us in the modern world though...

I would definetly recommend this to anyone. It's light, funny and doesn't exhaust you so to speak.Miura Haruma is great as always, portraying the character to its fullest. So if you want to break out from all those melodramas and laugh a little Samurai Highschool is the best de gozaru!

I found this drama to be hilarious! Especially how Kotaro (as a samurai) speaks to and treats the women haha. And his facial expressions are priceless.

Is it just me, or does Miura Haruma get exponentially hotter whenever he is "taken over" by the samurai dude? I was so shocked! I really like that hair too ^_^ And his arms...

I like it too. Miura's comedy looks silly because it's over-the-top, but you really have to keep in mind that he's playing TWO characters, and on that level he does really well. Also, it looks corny, but to do so consistently, the director and actors have to have a lot of conviction, and it does that without being too much. You can tell they meant to do it. It's supposed to look like the comic book it came from. It's definitely a style that isn't for everyone, but I can't accept the evaluation that it wasn't done well.

great one to watch when you want to relax. It has funny moments, a bit serious ones and so on. But I was a bit disappointed with ending. I thought it could be more complex.
