This is the perfect drama for a Saturday where you have nothing planned. It has a unique storyline which you guys have already read about. It has a wonderful cast(even if Haruma is an idol, I think he did a great job here). The music wasn\'t outstanding but it was alright. Rewatch value, i\'d give it a 7 since im not exactly one who likes rewatching things unless they are EXTREMELY funny. But that\'s just my own personal bias. Overall I\'d give this an 9/10.

Entertaining drama especially if you are a fan of Miura Haruma. He plays a double character here and it's good enough to see the shifting of characters from a student to samurai and actually it's the highlight of the series. It's the kind of show you may want to watch to be entertained when you are bored and nothing to do and if you want a light drama. I may re-watch it but maybe not alone but with friends or family members. I really recommend this for Haruma Miura fans for you to see another side of his acting. You can learn a thing or two as well.

Samurai High School definitely has a lesson to be learned from. I liked this drama because of its story line. I had a glimpse of the drama from a mv on YouTube. I found myself one day bored and wanting a new drama to start because I wasn't in the mood for my other ones that day. i thought back to the mv and thought that this drama looked promising. so I found out the name of it and gave it a shot. I'm happy I did. I do not regret it. Totally worth watching! :D

This is classic example on 'Great actor - Not so great show'. Miura Haruma shines as Kotarou. He is able to play two sides of himself magnificently and shows true skill, but the rest doesn't follow up. Maybe had everyone had his acting skill, they would be able to lift this poor story that doesn't really contribute to anything. It's predictable and, well, really boring at times. The only thing that made me watch the whole thing was the transformations from school boy to samurai.

Ofc, it's not only bad. It has some funny moments and some (imo) good choreographed fight scenes (for being amateurs).

It's also a 'moral speech' drama, so you get a moral speech about the incidents from the episode in the end (kinda like Gokusen). And that's good, for those who like that stuff.

If you're looking for something to watch because you don't have anything else to watch, I say go for it. If you're looking for a hilarious drama or an exciting drama with plot twists or some deep meaning, I say go look elsewhere. Imo, it's just Miura Haruma that makes this worth watching, and even if it was Oguri Shun (fangirl, sorry) that just isn't enough. Too many things are missing to make this a 'good' drama.

Hope you found this helpful. :P.

The drama is a surprise to me! Positively. I saw Miura Haruma is some roles and I'm sure he is versatile actor. He plays the split personality... I like the moments when Kotarou changes in the wild samurai and starts talking strange speech.

What is more, the action is great too. There are only mysterious rulers. They must be steel if they are never destroyed..

I really liked this drama a lot. I cried at the end. I thought it was well acted and I thought it had a mix of funny but seriousness to it. The Cast did a great job because most of the drama to me is meant to be serous the cast manages to make the characters very likable i found myself rooting for them all the time. The story while far fetched flowed nicely and the main character reminded me of a the troupe of the Messiah but he didn't atomically become one. The music was nice i enjoyed listening to it. Over all a great show i will re-watch this show sometime in the feature.

I adore Miura Haruma which is why I decided to watch this drama. It also has a different concept from other dramas that I have watched.
I enjoyed this drama ^_^ Its a quick watch only 9 episodes. Its funny and amusing. I watch a lot of school dramas where the kids are told "you arent good enough if you dont study" This drama uses that but is different because the staff does show care for the students and the Principle can be misinterpreted.
Haruma is wonderful and adorable as always. He plays a care-free high school student whose not strong but has a strong sense of justice. Then he can instantly turn into a strong very attractive samurai with the look he has. I dont much about old Japanese versus new but he sounds very much like a samurai from what I can tell.
I think it could've been better in terms of showing the samurai reacted to the new world and given more background in certain areas.

Though this may have been quite old of a series, but I still decide to write this to make sure if anyone, by any chance, happen to come across this, they can then be sure that this is a good drama. I won't say that this is best for everyone, but for boys, growing up men or grown up men that is being lost in life, this is really a good choice. Not to mention if you are really love samurai and romance of a warrior then the series is definitely a must-watch!

The series contains great acting, while being a light-fiction one. The main actor did great and natural fiction part, while supporting roles also acted natural and very funny. Throughout the series is a lot of "way of life" teachings that I believe are worthed learning. The series teach you how to be a fine man, that the least I can say.

You will also have a great time enjoying it. It will give you funny moment, a lot of light-heart feeling and also a lot of touching moments as well. Touching stories about friendship, family love and teachers-students love will surely make you feel like to sob

Music is also quite great, really made it to climax. And you will surely love all the actors' voice work (Im being serious haha, well except ... nvm). I specially like main actress' voice, with I was very suprised since she starred Yuko Ishihara in xxxHolic live action and I have always been hating that, since... well I want Yuko to had been a more charming one, no disrespect. But now I think I realized her charm... Also like main char's dad and mom very much. They sure are funny.

So to sum it all up, a great choice once in a while, especially with nowaday dramas which contain nothing but bad acting and shallow storyline seriously ...

PEOPLE SLEEP TOO MUCH ON HARUMA'S COMEDIES

I will never shut up about how the industry of cinema, no matter which country it is, always sees as "real cinema" or "good shows" the ones who tend to be more serious or dramatic than comedy based ones, and I think that's so wrong. I genuinely think that it's so hard to actually make someone laugh so much they do it out loud or stop eating or drinking because they'd choke due to laughing.

HANA KIMI is one of those shows for me, and this is another. Haruma Miura, mostly known for playing Eren on the live action of ATTACK ON TITAN was an amazing comedian, acting wise, and I do think people should appreciate it way more.

This drama tells the story of a nice, common high schooler, Kotaro, who somehow ends up getting a samurai warrior inside of his body, which develops into so many comedy scenes that made this drama one of my favorite dramas EVER!

Overall it's just confort, funny and entertaining, I think people should hype it more, but it's definitely not a must watch if you're not intrigued by the sypnosis, still for me it's so fun and great to watch. I would always recommend this for any JDRAMA beginner.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

I watched this because my bestfriend (who is a big fans of Miura Haruma) recommend this dorama to me (^_^)

At first I'm not too interested because for me Miura Haruma is too beautiful (^_^;) But! It's appear I'm enjoying watching this. It's funny and touching at the same time. A lot of quotes and lesson that we can learn from this dorama (this is the main point why I love japanese drama/movie). And I love when Kotaro change into a samurai (≧◡≦) ♡ There's Sakurada Dori, Kaneko Nobuaki and Kaku Kento in this dorama, but I forgot what is their role (⁄ ⁄>⁄ ▽ ⁄<⁄ ⁄)
