This one derailed pretty quickly. It just happened I was in the right mood for what this film was. And I can only blame myself for not reading and understanding the description clearly. Or was it luck? I might not have watched it otherwise and I'm happy I did.

At first my reaction was WTF *ugh* will I really be able to watch this? However I came to realize that what usually read more annoys me about Taiwanese humor was very delicately directed. I started to enjoy myself and have to admit that I was taken by the story and surprised at the end.

Lovely colors, dramaturgy and cinematography. Good production value, nice music and audio design. The actors are pretty good because the directing is wonderful!

The story seems like a really normal romance by the synopsis, but really it is a fantasy with action scenes, comedy and confusion. I generally thought the story was a bit weird at first. There are various things in it that will really confuse you, but all things become clear by the end.
Basically this tells the story of Si Ying, who gets a job in a coffee shop because her crush read more goes there often. While working in the coffee shop she meets another guy named Ah Tou, who she thinks is a weirdo and pervert (because he is wearing a bikini, carrying around a cabbage and roller blading). Eventually the 2 become friends because of constantly meeting each other in different situations and being able to talk to one another freely.
I liked this movie because it was light-hearted and not one of those tear jerkers!
The cast did well and made the characters interesting. There were a few good ballads in the movie that made some scenes more emotional. I probably wouldn't watch it again because even after all the weirdness is explained, I prefer less quirky movies.
Watch if you want something light-hearted and fun, but keeps you guessing and waiting for the ending.

Both have same female lead actress and tell the story of her character becoming friends with a guy who she at first did not like or understanding. She eventually gains feelings for them also.

"Cafe. Waiting. Love" is more of a romance fantasy, while "Our Times" is a slice of life romance. "Out Times" is better in my opinion.

This is the kind of quirky little movie I am supposed to like .... But I couldn't connect w/ it ... I am not sure why!?
It has elements from Secret and from Our Times, 2 other very good films from Taiwan ... so why didn't I like this?.... probably b/c the characters didn't have depth, although the writers tried.
I really want to like it, but can't :((

I have two important questions: then who left the turd there and how did Siying come back to the café after she ran out of gas?

This is like one of the weirdest movie or let's say, dramas I've watched. To me, it's weirdly one of the nicest movie I've watched HAHAHA.

DON'T READ THE SYNOPSIS! It's a BIG spoiler and it tells the whole story.

Great movie. It has some random and sometimes disgusting parts but the more you keep on watching the more you'll like the quirkiness of the movie. It's difficult to say what the movie is about but i'll take a chance. From what I understood it was about how Shi-ying enters college and learns about the "four legends". One day she almost got killed by a bus but a guy saved her, this incident leads her to work part time job at a cafe that the same guy always goes to. Working there and trying to confess to the guy she likes leads her to meet some quirky characters and to be involved in some strange situations also. During the process she'll learn who everybody's waiting for, even herself.
Not a perfect description but still better than the one above. :D I think.
