GIRL IS CUTE STORY IS A LITTLE MELODRAMATIC

This girl vampire is cute. If there were no story/plot, it's just worth it watching it for the girl alone. (Of course, for our female readers, the guy she fell in love with is also a hunk).

Story is a bit melodramatic, with main melodramatic element borrowed from Superman II. Remember that scene when Supes/Clark kisses Lois and erases her memory? Well, you find a similar plot device here at the climax. And it elicited no sympathy from me. I could smell the melodrama in it from a mile away.

Other than that, the plot is very light-hearted with the occasional slapstick humor mixed in. If you're looking for a movie where vampires duke it out with other vampires/vampire hunters, this isn't it. Whatever action scenes are featured in this movie are almost nil.

In terms of re-watch value, well I wouldn't mind. It has a lot of "kawaii / kakkoii" moments/situations that are worth revisiting...

This is a great movie to fill in a lazy day :).

The story is easy to follow and really lighthearted. Nothing complicated or action filled here, just grab a cup of tea and enjoy this cheesy melodrama, just don't have any expectations. This is a movie you can watch without your full attention. They added the vampire part in to make it seem interesting, but it would have a good job without it.
The cast and acting was fine, nothing to write big about it was just enough for this movie. The main-leads are adorable to watch.
The music was okay and I might rewatch this movie when I feel bored.

Watch this if you are looking for a lighthearted, easy to follow, cheesy melodrama.
Skip this if you want an action packed, emotional, vampire-hunting movie.

What would you do if you were a vampire and fell in love with a human? Would you turn them into a vampire or would you let them live their life as a human? This movie will elaborate a bit on that subject.

At first, it straight up confused me as to why they were speaking Chinese even though it's a Japanese movie. Which sorta made sense after a while but it would have been better if it was all just Japanese. It's definitely a cute melodrama and there is a bit of plot. But some elements of it are questionable ie. singing bread, summersaults. There's so much they could have elaborated on but they choose to focus on bread instead. You know if I didn't know any better I would think that this is a commercial for panda bread. {7.0}

The cast if you look at them individually is actually pretty good. They brought in well-known j-drama actress Kiritani Mirei, hallyu star Choi Jin Hyuk, god tier (back in the days) Ekin Cheng, and etc. I know that most of these actors/actresses are pretty well known. But together it feels odd like they don't quite match up. For example, Kiritani and Totsuka didn't have much chemistry going on. Maybe it was part of the scripting that made this cast feel subpar. {8.0}

Totsuka's singing is okay as expected of a Johnny's boy and the background music fits with the mood. {7.0}

Would I rewatch it? Most likely not. {3.0}

The overall plot is cheesy, but its cute and isn't a bad movie to watch on a rainy day or a lazy weekend. I highly recommend watching it at least once if you wish to have a happy ending, also watch the Credits! The overall Story about the vampire and love is interesting, (someone commented still better than twilight *I agree). Cute little drama. [7.5=

Acting wise, I thought the female lead was casted perfectly. The male lead, maybe not so much, but I think that was due to the slight lack of chemistry. Through it was there, it just wasn't there in the sense that I had seen with a pervious movie the lead actress had done. But overall I thought it was well casted in some parts and others maybe should have gone with a different choice. (Not the best friend, love her). [8.0]

Music wise, the male lead has a singer part, though I don't think hes a bad singer, I do think they could have chosen someone better. (Still can sing me under the table), but that is just my own personal thoughts on the matter. The background didn't really bother or take me out of the movie, so it was pretty good. [7/5]

Rewatch value I give about a 50/50 due to, I wouldn't mind rewatching but its not on my must see again list. So, maybe? [5.0]

Overall score is 7.0

This movie is not really my taste. The idea somehow not bad, but the execution is not too optimal. The pace is a little bit slow and the detail is not systematic, which makes this movie seems didn’t have a clear goal in the end. To sum it up, this story is a little bit boring for me. But, I feel touched when Tetsu singing in the end of the movie. The lyric and the music are nice.

The casts acting are good enough, but not outstanding. They indeed have the good skill, but somehow the chemistry is not built good enough.

Checked out the 2010 Mirei Kiritani movie “Koisuru Vampire” because a tale of a teenage girl vampire brought up without human interaction who meets and falls in love with a mortal boy and makes it her mission to find him again in the real world sounded like it would yield some interesting story-lines...

Somehow though, once Kiira (Mirei) hooks up with the boy as a teenager, the show turned into a drama about a girl who uses all her love to convince the boy that his singing and guitar playing is awesome and he can win a talent show, if only he'd believe in himself. Yeah, they managed to stick a generic, clichéd storyline into this movie, just like they did with The Girl Who Leapt Thru Time. I mean, they DID eventually get around to the whole “vampire” thing at the end, but by then I almost didn’t care, LOL.

Plus Points for Mirei’s super-cuteness, but I gotta tell you, for a vampire movie, a good 80% of this could have been just a regular teen romance flick! I guess that was the demographic they were going for? OK.
