Takei plays Nao Yoshino, a girl who fails the entrance exams of her target high school. She winds up enrolling in a technical high school called Kenritsu Asuka Kougyou Koukou, also known by the nickname "Asukou." Out of the 148 entering freshmen, only three are girls, and Nao is the only one in her class.

This reminded me a lot of Gokusen. Not necessarily because of the story but how its told. Its not really one storyline till the end but each episode has its own little story concentrating on one side character (...which is being helped by the female lead).

I really liked the idea of one girl being in a school full of boys.

(I mean what girl doesn't? ^.^) Sometimes it read more was cute and sometimes it was a little dramatic (ok, maybe sometimes a little too dramatic). The music was catchy, the acting was great and the boys were cute. This drama has a special atmosphere. You know, when you watch those (american) movies where the lead character dramatically gives a Speech/Explanation in front of an audience/other lead character towards the end and the audience so moved by his/her words that they all cheer/kiss or whatever. This kind of atmosphere leads you through all 9 episodes. Not much romance but a lot of "fighting"-attitude, so if you don't mind a little cheesiness on the side, you should give this a try. I did and I didnt regret it.

*Fighting* (makescutefistmoveintoair)

At first I thought this drama would be boring because of the theme but it turned out be interesting enough. This is one of those dramas that is more about teaching life lessons. I was more interested in the relationship with the main girl and the actor boy. I did like most of the cast. Overall it is a very good watch but I wanted more from the ending.

The story of female student(s) in a mostly male dominant field of study and how they come together and learn from each other in order to grow and be better

Same idea of trying to help a class of troublesome students, a life-changing school experience, array of characters and so on. Strongly recommend.

Based on the manga "Asuko March!" - "Kenritsu Asuka Kougyou Koukou Koushinkyoku" by Akiyama Kaori.
A Japanese drama of the nicest, "Asuko March!" Features only nine episodes, and a very young cast of very talented actors, only the ending was coarse, kind of build the bagasse and then dismount and thus ends the story.

I just marathoned it in one day , it deserved my time . I really loved it ; everything was realistic no exaggeration . At the beginning I didn't like how fast the other party was convinced by what Yoshino says ; I found it absurd. I know what she is saying is great but still ; but going to the end little by little it gets more acceptable. At the end what can I say that it is worth your time

      No comedy?

It has its parts where it's funny, but the show isn't overtly'comedic.' I'd say it's more stronger in the slice of life/drama/friendship theme here. There are a lot of things that Emi's character and those around her go through, so I'd say if you're looking for comedy, this wouldn't be the best dorama for comedy.
