Any BL fan would enjoy it. If you are looking for smut, this might not be for you as it focuses more on a romantic relationship rather than a sexual one. I would recommend this to those who are part of the LGBT community as well, as someone who is queer.
This story is really really cute. At first, I didn't like it because I thought it was going to be one of those cheesy BL stories that fill me with anger and hate. But it wasn't like that. The plot was very original compared to other BL stories I have read about, or even watched. I enjoyed every second of this movie, and wondered what would happen next. It was very unpredictable for me.
The biggest part in this movie that I would say had the hugest impact on me would be the characters. I felt like I could connect with them, I wanted to cry with them and laugh with them. The acting was so good. The silence in the movie had a huge effect on how I felt, and their relationship seemed so realistic. I could just feel their emotions. I found myself loving the characters as I kept watching and loved how we got to learn about their past a bit. There was a lot of character development. It was interesting to see how these two characters were exploring their sexuality.
Although the story mostly had instrumental music, I think it suited the story. It helped create the mood in the story as I kept watching and contributed to my enjoyment of the drama. The music is not very memorable though.
I would definitely rewatch this again. I hope they'll create a third movie maybe, or even a drama that continues this story... the ending is satisfying and I loved it. It was perfect, it hurts, but I love it.
Although this may not focus on the issues that LGBT people face, I think it's a wonderful love story. It was not forced, and seemed very consensual to me.
I'm definitely a huge fan of this movie now.

I watched this for the first time a year back and though at that time I found it Okay, it stuck with me for some reason. So I decided to sit down and watch it again a few days back and let me tell you, this movie improves ten-fold on the re-watch. Once you get into the sensitive pace of things as they unfold in this movie, you will really feel the gravity and the attraction that makes it feel like a sweet dream unfolding in front of you in slow-motion.
I hear a lot of people say that Hirose is stiff, and strange in the role, I admit, he seemed that way to me in the first viewing too, but when I watched this again, I realized just how nuanced and quietly emotional he is as Seryou. Seryou is beautiful, aloof to most, strange, sensitive and lonely. He is a beautifully perfect foil to Yamada's rough, pretty, misunderstood and straight-forward Yuzuru. The chemistry is there definitely, and is used just the right amount to make your heart beat a little faster every time their eyes linger on each other.
This is a beautifully shot movie, a slice of spring in the city and timelessness of youth and that first love's blossom is so beautifully shot and carefully executed, but what really brings the whole things together, and stayed with me (which I did not realize a year ago at all) is the gorgeous music in the film. Keep an ear out for it, because it is subtle enough to never over-power any scene but once you notice it, it is so perfectly matched in its delicacy, modernity and sweetness that it will definitely pull at your heart-strings.
The reason I take away half a mark from this perfect little gem is the kissing. Its a little lacking, not in passion but in the act itself. The buildup to it is perfect but the action itself feels as if there were some constraints, which is strange. Choices were made that were not necessarily the best.
Overall, 7 days is a sweet, delicate, atmospheric romance that is classic and modern at the same time.

The only minor weakness here is that I wish the two parts were presented as one continuous movie. The ending of part 1 is great, though, and both parts are equally strong. I'll write more about pt 2 in a review for Friday-Sunday.

Fun, sweet, interesting plot
I am trying to find the right words to describe the first part of this beautiful duo (both movies and characters).The movie starts off showing us two very different beautiful boys.
One is known for disappointing the ladies by having a beautiful face but never living up to the charm the girls expect from him. The other is known for being more of a fantasy than a man, who will give more or less anyone a chance to live in the dream of dating him for one week, before he ends it in a beautiful way leaving all his exes happy with the experience. While this behaviour has become well known and more of a joke, this wounded soul really is just trying to mend his broken heart and fall in love.
The first guy is of course cureus and seems to have the approach "Ill try anything once" having this set for a week seems to make it "safe" for him to enter and have fun with it....
The dynamics between these two very different characters is really sweet and fun to watch as they try to understand each other.
And is definitely an interesting start making you long for more... luckily this is from 2015 so part two is already out there and fully subbed...

I really enjoyed the premise of dating for seven days and finding out if you do or don't like the person you're with. Personally, I do think 7 days is enough to know if you do or don't want to continue a relationship, especially if you're hanging out so often, which is how Yuzuru and Seryou were. I loved their interaction
Casting (10/10)
I originally read the manga first and casting is one of those big issues I have when stuff gets live action adaptations. I honestly didn't have an issue here as the actors fit Yuzuru's pretty features and Seryou's handsome/playboy look
Acting (6/10)
I did have some issues with the acting. One of Yuzuru's biggest features, aside from having a pretty face, is his expressiveness. I didn't feel Yamada James Takeshi captured that in his acting. In fact, his expressions didn't really vary to me. Hirose Tomoki did a better job, only because he had more unique expressions (the smirk, the swagger), but I also think he could have done better. Unlike other dramas I watched, the acting here was more realistic and more in line with what you would see an everyday person doing

I do think I could rewatch this, however, not immediately. It is short enough where it doesn't feel like you're stuck to a TV for too long and it ends at a place where watching this in 2 sittings isn't awkward

I'm a huge fan of this story and the manga, and to see it faithfully following the manga really made my day! I do seriously think the acting could have been better and it does give off the feeling of being low budget, but still I recommend checking it out. Especially if you like Boy's Love

Masterpiece! Just watch it!
This, and its sequel, are incredible! I haven't seen romance done this well in a long time. I'm not putting any spoilers in here, but if you want to go in absolutely blind with no clue about what happens, don't read my review. Either way, I encourage you to watch this movie.I'm just going to write this review with both Seven Days: Monday-Thursday and Seven Days: Friday-Sunday in mind. I'll probably post this same review on the second movie.
So, how is this different compared to the LGBT+ movies/series I have seen so far? Well, there weren't any stereotypes, basically no silly misunderstandings, and no people interfering in the relationship. It was so refreshing!
It's a bit difficult to describe just how much these movies made me feel and why they're so amazing. I'll give it my best shot!
This story can basically be summarized as being about the slow and quiet exploration of a developing relationship between two people (Seryo and Yuzuru). While there are actually two movies that take the time to show this story, I personally consider them as being one. I wouldn't mind in the least if it were just one long movie. I understand that would make it around 4 hours long, but it's just that good!
For people who don't care for slow movies, you probably won't like this. And, if you're looking for intense "drama," this isn't it. There isn't any action to speak of, and it isn't missed or needed to make the story more interesting.
This movie (I'm just going to say movie instead of saying movies or this movie and its sequel, as it's getting annoying to repeat myself, and I already said I consider them one movie anyway) was the perfect length. It didn't feel rushed. And it didn't feel stretched out. It felt like, just as Seryo and Yuzuru took their time, the movie also took its time.
The actors did such a great job expressing their characters' emotions. There are scenes where they don't talk very much and only rely on their facial expressions to convey what they're feeling. You can sense when they have a revelation, are confused, etc., just by the look in their eyes or lift in their brow.
Also, their body language/physical acting was great as well. There is a gentle air that they carry around each other. And, when they lean in close to each other you feel the hesitancy as well. They aren't forceful with each other. And they don't suck each other's faces off. Lol. When they hold hands, touch each other's faces, or kiss, they don't rush. There is always this slow reaching toward each other as though they're being careful of the other, and they're always in the moment together.
Other than the initial premise not being realistic, the way their relationship/feelings developed was. It wasn't love at first sight or one person chasing another to try and make them love them back. It was two people dating each other because they wanted to.
There aren't very many side characters, and the ones that are there have very few scenes/lines. Because they aren't important. And they aren't the focus. It's all about the relationship between the two leads. And, when I say there isn't action, I mean that this movie contains mostly talking, not doing. This movie is all about feelings. It's about learning about someone, being open to someone, and love itself.
It's filled with quiet, reflective moments of the characters by themselves contemplating their relationship. And quiet moments together of discussing each other and their feelings.
There was an intense vulnerability to Seryo and Yuzuru. Just when you think they're going to keep their thoughts to themselves, they let something precious slip. They speak openly about attraction (including attraction to each other), dating, their future, and what they think of each other. The only "misunderstandings" consisted of when one of them took the others' words to mean something different from what they meant. But, those moments were short and/or resolved and were just a natural continuation of the reflective and deep nature of the characters.
The only thing I would say is that some retouching needs to be done to make the quality of the film on the screen a bit better. Sometimes it was a little blurry. But that may have just been because I had to watch it on YouTube.
In conclusion, this movie is everything. I could keep gushing about it forever.

It's a very cute story and I'll assure you that you will feel sympathy towards the characters. You're hopes will be up and crashed down again, but it'll be worth it, especially after watching Friday - Sunday.
It's definitely a feel-good movie, so grab some popcorn and relax. Let the movie guide you along this beautiful story of two boys who fall in love - unexpectedly.

Cute But A Bit too Slow for My Taste...
I've heard a lot about this film and its sequel as it is often mentioned whenever someone ask for BL movie recommendations. Thus my expectations may have been too high for this film as I found it to be a bit too slow and quiet for my taste, but it was also cute and charming seeing two teen boys try to figure out their feelings towards one another., making mistakes and incorrect assumptions along the way.On a side note, what's up with that anime-inspired hair? Is it still popular in Japan? I feel that it would be outdated, but I'm not entirely sure.

Not satisfying
Firstly, I recall a manga of similar plotline .. I remember the manga is pretty sweet ~However for this movie (I watch this and the next one in one go), I would say that the execution is not that satisfying ..

I love the story, a slow developing, confusing feelings ..
A little misunderstanding due to feelings and thoughts not properly communicated ..
I have nothing against the actors .. BUT I would say that they does not portray the character well ..
It is as if that the execution of the character, and the way the story says the character is supposed to be, does not adds up, in my humble opinion ..
I am no expert, but this is my opinion as one of the numerous audience out there ..
For Seryou ..
The supposed image of him is a popular guy, new girlfriend every week
A popular, charming one .. A very gentleman ..
In the movie, the character of Seryou seems more of, a soft, weak uke (?)
One point that I pretty much dislike is the amount of powder on Seryou's actor .. I don't know whether it's Japanese culture or is there any certain purpose behind it, but I find Seryou's actor overly unnatural 'white' face (from powder or foundation? not sure, not an expert too)
And Seryou's general expression is more of,.. a very timid person ? But not really, it's like timid, yet stiff ? and rather odd ?
In real life, a person executed that way is, in my very humble opinion, unlikely to be someone who is very popular and has a girlfriend every week ..
For Yuzuru ..
The story portrays him to be someone 'cool', whose behaviour contrast the appearance ..
But I do not really see this .. It's more like, we get to know this from his flashbacks of rejection and told my his friend.. aside from that? Not really ..
I think that if the contrast is executed better, I would love his character even more !

A wholesome and beautiful movie
I wasn’t originally gonna watch this, instead looking for other movies but I caved and I’m happy I did- this was a seriously good movie. Shino and Seiryo relationship development was so beautiful to watch, this movie had you smiling at how genuinely sweet all their interactions were. It was interesting yet cool how the narration changed from Shinos point of view to Seryous, a contrast between Shinos lighthearted outlook and Seryous more serious outlook on the “week long relationship”. Every character was lovable, I found myself shipping them quickly just because of how sweet their interactions were. Both actors shared great chemistry and really gave their best in embodying the role. Although never fully revealed, you could see how Shino (though a bit confused) grew feelings for Seiryo, as shown when he got jealous at the call with the other Shino. My favourite scene of Shinzo would probably be where he touches Seryous face and they almost kiss. His love was also shown when he grew more attentive to Seiryo facial features, gifting us such a cute scene where the chemistry was killer. Although he hadn’t really realised it, he was already falling in love. I loved how they showed Seiryo more serious outlook, believing in love but believing at the same time it might not ever happen to him yet still having hope each week. It was so pretty seeing how he was unable to break up with Shino ( by then he was already falling) it was also shown throughout where he couldn’t take his eyes off Shino, and although he still did everything he did every week, he did more such as actually kissing Shino and realising his feelings. My favourite scene of his has got to be saying good bye to the other Shino/ex, validating the fact he was inlove with Shino. It was a really beautiful ending yet also bittersweet, beautiful and evokes joy in its own right but also sadness at the fact the movie is over. Overall I give this 10/10 because of how good it is, it’s only one hour long but is still a great movie that is worth multiple rewatches. The extra characters such as the friends provided good plot aid but also their own likeable characters, the adding of the archery club let there be a bonding between Seiryo and Shino even before they had properly talked. I know if I’m feeling down, this movie will be there to cheer me up.I don’t think I can choose a favourite scene, because each minute was good in its own right but if I had to it would probably be the scene where they kiss which was really cute or the ending just at how beautiful it is.
