Don't let the title of the drama fool you - I thought it was going to be just another tawdry Grey's Anatomy-esque romantic-melodrama-with-hospital-backdrop and the first two episodes kind of leave you with that impression. In the beginning, it feels like they're trying a little bit too hard to be sexy and scandalous, but that soon takes a backseat as the real plots begin to unravel.

I ended up falling love with read more every main and supporting character, and becoming invested in every subplot running throughout the show. Every storyline is strong without convoluting the overarching story or making it clunky. The interwoven relationships in this story take precedence but the eventual main conflict is career-based with a dash of social commentary; the fact that their work also takes part of the centre focus is exactly what made it more than just a romantic melodrama.

Most of all, the conclusions that are drawn in the end are both realistic and satisfying, which is normally such a hard balance to strike. Every character, even the main antagonist, is done justly without oversimplifying the end of their respective arcs.

Ishitachi no Renai Jijou is by no means a flawless drama - it has its own tendencies to fall into the regular Japanese drama tropes at times - but overall it's clever, modern, presents us with complex characters and a refreshing outlook on love and work without being too preachy.

Found this drama by accident and was pleasantly surprised - especially since the glut of DOCTOR dramas have flooded the screens.
Story: not new a medical drama story-line, oppressive working environments, doctors attempting to have a personal life (men & women), smexy male doctors. This series cross the path of mature subject matter, love and yearning to be better doctors. In some aspects if you like Dtr X1,2,3 you will enjoy this. read more Actors: Three key coupling the main couple have serious chemistry, the kind you feel through the screen. All other couples have chemistry, not to the level of couple 1.

Music: semi-memorable and fitting
Rewatch: No - will look for other Jdramas with lead actors. Not a bad drama since there are so many to find.

Have been in search of dramas that are not full of kpop idols, kids learning to act, poor kissers. This Jdrama is a decent watch for those wanting a more mature story-line.

Profit hungry hospitals, one strong willed good looking doctor, ethics of doctors, and patient care is the running theme of DoctorX series & DAffairs. Where they diverge is in the area of personal love life and its complexity for anyone over the age of 40+. DA has mature romance scenes and story-line of yearning love. Both expose the competing medical goals: $$ or patients ~

Usually, doctor dramas are too gory for me to tolerate. This one gives you the feeling you're in the operating room without any explicit, disgusting shots. The storyline themes are much broader than just a romantic angle branching out to include ethical issues going against the coldhearted but I guess realistic standpoint of the financial goals of the hospital's CEO whose interest focuses mainly on investors and the $$$ bottom line. I haven't finished the series yet, but the characters aren't one-sided or simple, and their dedication to their profession is admirable as we become privy to a complex society within hospital walls.

Other than the song,'Don't be love' by Shishido Kavka, I heard two other songs in the drama and they sound like English songs. If someone knows the names of the two songs, pls tell me? :)

I don't watch a lot medical drama, but I think i like this. The pressure of hospital life in this drama didn't make me trauma. There is no meanie villain, so it's lovely to watch.

It could be the second time i fall in love with Saito Takumi, I never give a lot attention to him before. Even thought actually I don't quite agree with the age gap idea between the leads. Fortunately, Yushida Yuriko is beautiful.

When I first started watching this drama I immediately felt that it would be a Japanese version of Grey's Anatomy. Indeed it turned out to be too 'Japanese' in the sense that it concentrated much more on the medical cases/careers rather than the personal relationships between doctors which were dealt with only as secondary issues. Therefore by the end I found this drama very similar to many other Japanese medical dramas with only a very slight hint to romance. I would have enjoyed it more if it had been the opposite and the writers had been braver. However on the whole it was a pleasant watch.

Aibu Saki is a favorite actress of mine she has such range in her roles and i've had a crush on Hirayama Hiroyuki since Zenkai Girl they were my favorite couple in the show its hard to blend families and they played out realistically. I found the show to be a bit predicable but the acting was so good.

I really liked this drama. In particular, I liked the relationship between the friends - the authentic way in which the women were so open and supportive of each other. It dealt with real life challenges of women in professional roles. Good show, simple and straightforward.
