A charming movie that has a ton of messages ranging from teenage pregancy, expectations of older actors/actresses, image, family. It had a great sense of humour about certain situations but was able to ramp up the drama for the more serious aspcts of the film really well. All thanks to the incredible range of Kim Hye Soo as the lead role. I love the risk they took using Kim Hyun Soo, a young actress for the role. You tend to see older, more experienced people in the roles but they went young and it paid off, making the story even more grander. She was excellent. Only 16 at the time and she pulled of the emotion and weight of the situation supremely well. And Ma Dong Seok is a G. Godbless that man.

A well crafted comedy/drama that you can watch with the family or alone.

A feel good, fight back, feel mad kind of movie

This movie is kind of sweet and pretty interesting showing very clearly the prejudice against both teen pregnancies and woman as a whole while pointing out and society's lack of safety nets in an a tad absurd and to far way...

What I loved about the movie was the dialog and the women sticking up for each other. I also loved the teen, she was probably smarter and waaaay cooler than all the adults in this drama but without loosing her status as a teen. I also loved how they over and over pointed out the absurdity in putting all the responsibility and blame on the teen mom when she clearly did not get pregnant on her own.

The grown up lead is not very nice, and that is okay too, she does have some growth but not to much growth and is most certainly less mature than the teen she has taken under her wing, giving the viewers a chance to hate her as wall as feel for her at times.

Other grown ups in charge of this teen and moms in general in this movie bring out my less pacifictic side, so do most of the men with one pretty awesome exception giving hope to all men out there, yes you can do it , you can be responsible lovable human being if you try.

All in all not really a masterpiece but definitely worth watching.

Familyhood is an entertaining movie that moves the audiance towards the ending. However, the begining was a bit weak. We are presented with an arrogant actress who sees her career coming to an end, her relationship shuttered and her chances of having a family lost. The most, actually, interesting part was the student's story. The movie starts to offer some solid entertainment after the two women start living together and they form a family. However, it goes back to a weak downhill when the leading lady ignores the girl and focuses on her career. That's when the best performances are introduced and the movie hits a darker point. The ending, though, was satisfying. And the character development really good. So, seven out of ten.

depiction on how the society sees the teen preganancy

Basically, an enjoyable movie, where the characters are sometimes likable and sometimes immature. You know every person grows, some with time and some in the blink of a moment.
Showing up an ugly truth of the society where a pregnant teen or a woman is always a female fault. Like why is it a fault, it happens due to two individuals, so why only the female is to blame.
You cannot adopt a child if you are single, but you cannot get an abortion if you are underage. Why give the responsibility of raising a kid to a teen than to have an abortion. She has just begun her life. Because this society is run by the rules of adults.

I love Kim Hyun Soo, though I have seen her in various movies, but recognized her since The Penthouse series. She had a way to make her character come to life. She lives up to the expectation so well. She was a mature teen but still had the charm of adolescence who makes mistakes, embraces mistakes, and struggles to find a space in the harsh society.

Kim Hye Soo was nice, showing the exploited character of a diva, who is an immature adult and selfish. She deserved all the hate throughout but claimed her share of claps in the end when she actually did something against her usual self.
I hated the sister who was selfish and duped her in that status. she was the real selfish.
One should definitely watch this movie to see the different approaches/ views of adults towards teen pregnancy. the family, the school, the friends, neighbors, strangers, and the FATHER OF THE KID.
