I was so upset when this was released in Japan, and I didn't have the chance to go see it. I'm a huge idol fan and Iwata Takenori is one of my favorites. After seeing him in "HiGH&LOW"; I wanted to see him take on a different role.

This movie story was alright. I'm not going to sugar-coat it and just 'cause Iwata Takenori is in it does not mean it's do read more all end all. The plot is pretty 'meh', rather typical of most shoujo stories with the side plot of plants and identifying them thrown in to mark it different. My friends remarked on how absolutely ridiculous the basic premise is. If you're looking for realistic, this story is not it. If you're looking for easy watching/not complicated this is for you.

However, it is light hearted and funny at times. Iwata Takenori (Itsuki) is 100% quality eye candy and his character is a perfect match. Takahata Mitsuki (Sayaka) is relatable, and honest, with plenty of faults and positives to make her well balanced. It's unfortunate you don't get to see either character really develop just based on the pacing of story, and the type of acting. The side characters don't see much screen time or development, but they're a solid background foundation rather then a hinderance.

The music overall is okay. Nothing spectacular about it, and at times the timing seems a little off/inappropriate for the mood. Not to the point of being unwatchable, but noticeable.

Again, I love Iwata Takanori. I love Takhata Mitsuki, so for me this movie was a no-brainer to watch. It's not complicated, but it's not boring. If you're looking for something light-hearted to watch without getting teary-eyed this is it. I'd rewatch just to see the eye-smile prince smile again, but it won't be frequently.

Both deal with the male lead leaving for a significant amount of time (although not as long as We Were There).

Both are a romance film.

If she did not just accept him right away when he came back and gave him a little hard time to gain her forgiveness I would have given this movie a 10. It's actually not as cliche as I though ti would be. Plus, who in the right mind would just let somebody you don't even know the last name stay with you and live with you just because he cooks well?

This was a simple yet beautiful movie, the lead actors really fit together, it was calm and lighthearted, just the type of romance movie I was looking for, really recommended

Simple, gentle and sweet love story. No drama. The way Jap love stories are known for. I love the female lead's character. Male lead is too cute! <3

The secret is the "cherry of cake".
Evergreen Love is not a romance movie, it goes beyond, with a phenomenal cast and a fluency in history, demonstrates that Japanese knows how to make romantic film, the negativity is because of the soundtrack that could have been better chosen.
This is another one of those "Zen" movies where everything flows and gets better every scene until the end becomes perfect.

This movie is very light hearted and full of romance so if you are into shoujo you'll love this!! But you'll just have to let go of the initial nonsense that is their meeting after that all the sweetness is worth it :D

All I am after here is Iwata Takenori and i was not disappointed. He was so dazzling that he is so good to be true. As for the movie, it was pure; theres not even a hint of antagonism. Thanks to this, i was inspired to cook lunch to take for work.

When I first saw this movie I was like "it's gonna be like all the other Japanese ones with a cliché stories and crappy endings". I mean sure the story itself was pretty predictable and cliché a bit but it was the first Japanese movie ever that made me feel something and gave me that warm fuzzy feeling inside of me (and I liked the ending :P)! I thoroughly enjoyed the movie even if some parts made me cringe lol. A solid 8/10.

PLEASE if someone could recommend a fantastic Japanese movie that would be awesome!! :D

This is a very shoujo movie, simple and familiar story, emphasizes the mood with a plot that may not always make logical sense but appeals to fluff side and premise alone (adopting a man off the streets) asks you to suspend your sense of realism from the get go. It's not very deep either, but the appeal lies in a well rendered, rather pure mood.

This movie is of pure type, nice as something feel good and if you are able to just enjoy the mood without picking on little details. You don't watch movies like this in the same way you would, say, a powerful intellectual high concept cinema like Old Boy. They serve different purposes and it makes little sense to look for something ambtious in a movie that simply wants to be warm, cute, fluffy and endearing without any pretences of grandeur or cynicism.. but each have their purpose and momen to be enjoyed properly. In a movie like this as far as I'm concerned story isn't so important, what matters is the mood created, it feels warm and pure.

I love pure feelings, and the Japanese are great at creating them.. movies like this appeal to me for the kind of pure feelings and mood that I tend to miss... Japanese are great at setting the right kind of (pure, warm) mood and delivery in the things the create and their dramas and movies really appeal to my sentimentality, dreamer's side and other things. This was a nice watch..

I'm up for watching this, but gosh this trailer looks like a complete spoiler. Why do they show a complilation of what looks like all the highlights? XDD Well, hope to still enjoy.

OK so the trailer was an absolute spoiler, but it's a slow n quiet movie, so the moments in-between are the most beautiful. However, honestly speaking, I'm upset. His way of doing things are screwed and for heaven's sake, that's not love. I mean not done out of love. Because there would have bean better ways to get himself time to change without causing her such a huge shock. What they never say nor show is, that this will stand between them for ever (or ages at least). It's nothing that heals easily. And you can see it. Look at her face when she enters the flat the last time. Her hesitating and listening for sounds. It's these kinds of things that are left unhealed and then slowly eat up the relationship at difficult times. *sighs* Well ... I'm not too surprised, considering it's a Japanese movie though. One of the countries with the majority of people being more of the quiet kind (Which has merits of it's own, ofcourse).

I thought this movie was going to be boring at first but I was proven wrong! I thought the chemistry between the two were great and everything just felt so domestic and cute that it really just made me jealous. I know that I'll definitely be coming back to this movie ^^
