I was liking it but it kinda lost its wholeness. 1) I still cannot pinpoint when he did fall in love with her; 2) the lead actor looks good on screen but his acting is sort of forced - like the when he smiles, it is like asking somebody to say "cheese";; 3) the director was showing that Mr. BLack's team had it all together and yet there were allot of like read more unnecessary mistakes they made as a team as they make the revenge; 4) the 5 years in the plot seems unrealistic, and is not cohesive to the whole story (I'm trying not to divulge the story here); 5) the revenge/twist - I've had enough of it... They could have ended this at 16 eps; 6) the evil guy was first very composed in the beginning and then at the end they made him laugh the "evil laugh" , like totally out of character; 7) this guy got out in 2 years of being in prison and they go back to the couple ( it was obvious, it was not even in the same time frame)

This is still watchable, but when it comes to crimes, laws, the story has to be really tight. The twists in the story was pretty good, but I can only take so much "twisting" before I begin to just say, just get on with it... So, yes, I do have gripes about it but I have seen worst dramas.

As revenge/melodramas go, Goodbye Mr. Black was ok. I gave this a higher score because of the unusual birth secret twist and because people got what they deserved. I did get irritated with the ending though. I wish I could post spoilers because I have some things to say about this drama. Anyway, the plot is pretty good, but the story seemed to go around in circles at times. There were too read more many needless characters. I did like how there was focus on the main characters love story as convoluted as it may have been.

I think the acting is what makes this drama worth watching. I would have given up on this drama at the start if it weren't for the good actors. I didn't feel much chemistry, but they made it work. I'm a huge Kim Kang Woo fan and it was fun to watch him play the "bad guy".

The music was good.

I will never rewatch this.

If you like revenge dramas, then this one is not a bad watch.

there are few similarities liking framing for the murder
a journalist girl who supports the lead
betrayal by the friends, though it is not the main focus in channel x
both have action and cruel villans
Recommended by KnM
Both are revenge-based dramas in which the male lead is wrongly charged with murder and returns several years later with more power and tries to ruin his accusers. Both have strong female leads who are determined and can handle themselves without the help of a man. Both these dramas are melos and have a really sweet feeling and can get you sucked into the life of the characters immediately and of course.. both are very enjoyable. Although I must say that I prefered Beyond the Clouds more than I liked Goodbye Mr. Black.

This is one of my favourite dramas.i give it 10/10 cuz i really love LJW and MCW.Its not the best but a good drama(the best for me actually). You won't regret watching that. The first part of the drama is intense but the second one is a bit draggy.Don't worry. The main leads' amazing chemistry will solve that problem...Osts are great too.And the ending.love it so much

Great cast not so great drama . love it at first but then i didn't know how to finish it. I think it would better if it was only 16 episodes or less.

So many negative comments... well, if you'd like a different opinion, I really liked this drama. The actors were awesome, the plot was interesting (if unlikely) and for once, an ending for a thriller left me very happy.

I liked Five Fingers (some other revenge drama) which also had a rating of 7.4, should I give this a try?

I love revenge drama too but I'd say this drama isnt worth your time and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone I know. I've watch this 5 month ago and hardly remember anything memorable from this drama. If you like revenge drama , I'd suggest u to watch Golden Cross. The story pace is good and intense unlike this one, boring and slow.

Thanks, I'll avoid this then, I just thought that since I liked the cast here and there was another revenge drama with low rating that I liked, I might enjoy this.

The way it was filmed it look like a soap opera and the acting matched it. I like LJW he's one of my favs, but this was not one of his best.

I liked it a lot. The romance was slow to get going, but didn't disappoint once it got going. I will admit to fast forwarding through some of the evil plotting, but that's normal for me. This shows biggest weakness is in comparing it to The Descendants of the Sun which aired at the same time. It does suffer in comparison, but is still good on it's own.
