After watching a few episodes of Water Boyy the Series, I decided to write a few words about this version, simply because... it's better (IMO).

Still, this film is far from perfect. It seems like a cluster of different scenes which doesn't always make sense. The cause-and-effect relationship is not always tangible. Sometimes, I had problems understanding characters' decisions. Having said that, I still think the film is worth watching. There's time for the laugh and time for the tears. I enjoyed most of the scenes thanks to the amazing actors.

I really think the actors are the best asset of Water Boyy, especially Ngern and Beam who played lead characters. I simply loved their chemistry, the way they looked at each other etc. Other swimming club members were so lovely and boisterous. I enjoyed every scene with them. Nam's family and Nune weren't that bad either.

Music wasn't that memorable (except the theme song), but it suited certain scenes. Sound effects were mostly fine, but some were completely unnecessary. On the other hand, I liked the scenography and warm colours of the frames. The film's so colourful that it's pleasant to watch.

Even though I think Water Boyy the Series has a better writing and pace, BL pairing lacks chemistry which made Water Boyy the Movie so good. Again, not perfect, not marvellous, simply good and enjoyable. Most importantly, I couldn't stop smiling after I'd watched the whole film and I think it's all you need to know.

I found this movie really cute !
I liked that it was a slow burn so that we can appreciate all the little moments and the realisation without directly going to the "I love him".
It just felt really refreshing, and made me smile and laugh and cry with them. I highly recommend !

I only saw one review really praising this movie so I felt I needed to write one of my own describing just how good this film is.
First of all the plot is practically perfect. Aside from one "three months later" at the end I thought the timing of everything was flawless. The slow burn elements were timed out so well which is hard to find in movies. Things often feel rushed in movies but this one is an exception. The romance felt natural and progressed in a way that felt right and made it absolutely adorable.
Talking specifically about the romance the acting is so so good and the two mains have great chemistry. The dialogue is really good as well and serves an important roll in this particular film. Besides dialogue there are also many points where no words need to be spoken. Looks and actions are enough. It's balanced between the two and provides such an incredible romance.
I also liked how this film dealt with the struggle of discovering your sexuality. BL movies and shows aren't always great with it, but I thought this movie did a really really good job portraying it.
What also set this movie apart from others was it's end. Unlike other movies and shows it had a satisfying end that brought everything together. I didn't have to devote the rest of my life to planning out my own ending in my imagination for once.
Overall this movie is adorable, romantic, and even a little funny. It's my new favorite movie and I fully recommend it and will probably be re-watching it in no time. So please don't let other reviewers or comments deter you from this fantastic movie.

After watching how terrible the series turned out, it's good to know that the original work is actually good.

I don't really have a lot to say about it; actually, read my review on the drama and know that this movie is the complete opposite of that review.

My favorite thing about this movie is that it looks like independent films do. If you have ever seen some you'd probably agree that it's very different from movies with big productions. I kinda like this a little more because it creates a sense of intimacy that's hard to achieve from a lot of movies that are coming out today.

- Story: I feel like the fact that this is a movie and there is a time limit to it helped a lot to organize and focus on a specific thing instead of branching all over the place like the drama series did. While the drama focused on so many things at once making it a hard-to-watch mess, the movie mainly focused on Nam and Meuk's relationship. Thank you! It was such a change of pace that I found the movie to be quite a relaxing work to watch.

The pacing was slow but not in a bad way. It actually helped building up scenes that required a moment to absorb what was happening and the character's emotions. My only problem is that it was used a little too much and I would have preferred some more dialogue and explanation of their feelings rather than just silence from the scene.

- Acting: I just wanna say "YES!!!" This is acting, this is chemistry, this is believable! The movie in itself being the way it is played a big role in the chemistry of the characters, but I am glad to see that the actors themselves made it believable. To be honest with you, it felt like looking at real life friends living a normal life. That's exactly what I look from a drama/movie and what many are lacking.

I know Beam was good, but can we just talk about Ngern for a moment? How in the world did this actor disappeared from dramas?! He's such a natural! I wasn't a big fan of his role in Love Sick, but he totally flip the script over in this movie. Like, it is a shame we do not see him anymore and I need him. Is it because he's not considered to be attractive? Because that's bullshit. That guy, Earth (Waii in the series), isn't more attractive than him but people love him for no goddamn good reasons. The double standard...

Sis this show has EVERYTHING: Good cast, believable acting, solid script, them feels, gorgeous settings, good cinematographic, and chemistry between characters? In this economy? Well, yeah! Totally worth watching and rewatching, if you think about it.

This is the movie that WaterBoyy: The Series is based on. And I guess I am biased - the series does have New Thitipoom and Earth Pirapat, after all, and these two make everything twice as good - but I liked the series more.

You see, in this movie, some of the characters’ actions and reactions were a bit off, illogical, I couldn’t understand how they arrived from point A to point Y all of a sudden. Like, Meuk refused to break up with his famous girlfriend but he called Nam selfish and incapable of loving anyone but himself. So there were moments when I literally scratched my head and went, “Huh? ?"

Also, Nam’s father’s relationship with his very young boyfriend felt downright creepy, mainly because his dad looked like he was in his 50s/60s but his lover looked in his 20s. And he was basically using Nam’s father as… a layover? A bus stop on the way to another lover? So the whole thing felt very… icky.

One big plus? The film features Beam Papangkorn in the role of Meuk (Apo in the series) and he is very, very, very pretty.

I am grateful that I saw the movie without knowing that Bean had passed away in March of this year. a pity so young! The film shows that it is a kind of cut and paste of chapters and that means that sometimes there are very fast team jumps that do not allow you to fully understand the development of the characters and their behaviors. The male lead couple acts and connects well but more moments of emotional closeness are lacking and the closing is abrupt and poor in that sense, let's not forget that it is a BL genre and it is a shame because the two protagonists get along well. the role of the bride is that of the thoughtful and capricious and false woman to whom these series have accustomed us, wanting to forcefully convince her to be chosen. tired. what is different from others is the role of the father coach and his affective-loving relationship with another boy who is also young and who undisguisedly shows that he is passing through that relationship. This is not a recent relationship with so much difference from those and from a father with children. otherwise few scenarios intense and tiresome group of friends and a pleasant time without the. the penalty again is the loss of Papangkorn Lerkchaleampote RIP

This film from 2015 was a hair more tolerable (better) for me, like the series that came out of this film two years later. The rambling and sometimes illogical progression of the characters is also present here, but it didn't have to deviate so much from the main storyline for long passages. The biggest refresher and currency was that the two main characters Nam and Meuk didn't HAVE TO PLAY ANYTHING, they were both not even 19 years old at the time of filming, so they were age appropriate and both gave a very solid performance. By that I just wanted to say that in the current projects actors are usually much older than 25-31 years old, often "rejuvenated" by Asian girls up to the eyes and playing teenagers. Of course, the experience of this film would be greater if the film could be watched in good quality. "Swimsuit movie", as someone writes here - I don't know, I haven't noticed any wave of swimsuits, there must be several dozen movies with "swimsuits".

I thought the movie would be better than the meandering mess the series was, but I feel cheated out of the time I spent watching this. I understand these types of films are directed at younger audiences, but in a romance, the two leads have to kiss AT LEAST ONCE. The most we got was a hug. That's it.

Nothing where the boys don't kiss get higher than a 5. I only gave it that much because the actors were excellent - both the leads drew consistent and believable characters, and the side actors were also good. The girlfriend was inconsistently written and it was hard to get a feel for her character.

The technical quality was not bad, although there were some sound issues.
