Yeon Hwa pretended to drink the tea and fainted. The fact that the tea was poisonous was revealed anyway. The Crown Prince was criticized for hurting his brother. The King had no choice but to sentence Hae Su to execution. Wang So told Uk that the one who poisoned the tea was Empress Yoo. But Uk gave up to save Hae Su to protect Yeon Hwa and his family. Court Lady Oh talked with the King about the kid that was killed because of the Empress. Oh decided to announce that she was guilty, in order to save Hae Su. Hae Su begged for forgiveness for Court Lady Oh in front of the Palace despite being weak. Wang So stood by to protect her. (Source: Viu)

Best episode and most tragic in this series.

That song they place throughout this series to set the score really hits at the end of this episode. You could tell in this episode what she was planning. The look, her decision, what she was going to sacrifice. It's a tragedy, however, I view it as a sweet death; a good one. She was leaving the world on her own terms. Rather than dying a slow and painful death, in illness; she decided to sacrifice herself. Saving the one of the court women she viewed as a child she couldn't have. You can tell that the king loved her dearly. He just could act on those feelings because of his honor as king. Something Prince So (4th prince) needs to think about along with Prince Wook (8th prince). Lady Oh wasn't throwing away herself or her feelings for the king. She was giving her life for someone she believed deserved a better fate; better than hers. Damn, this series is a great re-watch.

Love & Trust

I'm a person who has no idea what love is.After watching this, I thought what's the point of trusting someone. Loving someone.Seems like love & trust only brings you pain. Innocent always have to prove innocence. Huhh...unfairness in this world has no boundaries. ( Just wanted to say something. I hope it is not taken personally by the viewers. )

The drama started getting dull

It's one of the most addictive dramas I watched. I watched 6 or 7 episodes in a day. This might be ordinary for some drama-watching veterans but me, this is absurd. I'm a guy who takes a week to watch a single episode. So, I'm downhearted that I've started to lose interest in this one after watching episodes 10 and 11. I don't realize what is wrong but I can say for certain the kick is gone. I hope it's just because of my mood swings and hope to find this drama pleasant when I visit it the next time.

I have made an observation, the 8th prince is very handsome, sweet, and kind but he never keeps his promises. Lady Oh is one of my favorite characters. She was super awesome from the very first time she showed up. This episode was so sad.

No words

Literally no words to describe this episode. It was magnificent. From start to end, there was not a moment in which I wasn't not bored. The 8th Prince turning his back on Soo, and the 4th Prince being there for her every time, see how the tables have turned. Even so, what the Wook did was also very admirable, choosing his family over the girl he loves is not a sin, he must've been heartbroken of course, but he's a reasonable guy, after seeing his mother get on her knees and beg to the Queen, that was just painful to watch. I really have no words I'm sobbing I'm sorry. Now, when everyone wanted to take her side but they were afraid of the King, as he was heartbroken his first love was going to die, and even so, So didn't care about that and stood by her side. Magnificent, beautiful and painful at the same time.

I had seen this image in many platforms where…

I had seen this image in many platforms where 4th prince has covered hae soo with his black robe, and it was just a romantic gesture for me but now this scene is just epic. I was overwhelmed with emotions after seeing this.
I also felt huge respect for court lady oh who sacrificed herself.
i really wanna know what kind of lady queen yoo is, trying to kill ones own child, who does that. Its a saying in our side that a witch also curses after 7 home of hers, but here she is trying to kill her own, disgusting man.
I felt extreme sadness when soo thinks " if i knew someone would die because of me i would not have been so greedy to live again"

The best thing about historical dramas like this is that people are able to die - and I am waiting PATIENTLY for those in my ever-growing list of those who've done wrong to disappear.
I cried.

EP 11: Where Scarlet Heart truly Shines

WOW, this was one hell of an episode, the best one yet on so many levels IMO.

For one it really drew us in the moment, into every experience and emotions the characters were feeling.

We experienced true heroism in the nobility of Court Lady Oh's sacrifice.

Watched IU put up her best performance yet.

Enjoyed watching Wang So act truly unselfishly which is a major feat for a man who has lived his life looking out for only himself.

and finally, we saw the writers brilliantly come up with a great transition for a switch in Hae Soo's love interest.

No on Wang Wook. Contrary to what most fans are saying, I don't think Wang Wook is a terrible guy for choosing his family over Hae Soo.

If anything, given the kind of guy he is, this is EXACTLY the kind of decision you would expect him to make, What? did we all honestly think he'd throw his mother, who adores him, under the bus for love...no!!!

Wook is a reasonable guy, logical, he's not as strongly driven to act by emotions as Wang So is, hence why he's not as impulsive as his half brother.

Wook loves Hae Soo, no doubt, but his duty is first and fore most to his family. So let's not be too hard on the guy.

If anything I'm glad the writers came up with that plot to wean us off of the Soo-Wook couple, which i'd started to like a lot btw, this plot stays true to our characters and allows for Hae Soo so have a clean break-and a clean break off of her 'Goreyo Era first love' is what she needs to allow for her to allow herself to love Wang So.

Good bye 8th prince

One of the best Historical Dramas ever , I don't know about the chineese version but this one as excellent ,it has all the elements for a succeful drama :Suspens ,comedy , romance, historical action

I don't know why people insult the female lead acting because she is an idol and for her relationship with an older man !! But in this drama she was awesome and let me emphatise with her even cry

Also I like the way they form the love triangle and let the second lead destroy it(don't spoil anything but yo'll fall for both of them and choose the First lead)

I really enjoy this drama so much probably one of the best I've ever seen
WORTH WATCH IT :)

My emotions. MY EMOTIONS!

First of all Lee Joon Gi is A-mazing. The depth of his acting is mind boggling. He better get some awards!

Secondly I pondered how the writer would get me to jump 8th Prince ship. This episode was masterful, some parts predictable, other's quite a surprise, and in all quite a shock to my emotions. (I'm gonna watch Go Princess Go after this to quiet myself down so I can sleep!) The 8th Prince was despicable and a coward. He has shamed Lady Hae yet again.

This episode was powerful in that it showed many of the character's true faces. Not everyone is wearing a mask, but the ones that we get a pick behind are terrifying. Characters are going to die. There will be blood. I've said I'm blood thirsty in the past, but boy I'm terrified!

Poor Soo, I wonder how she will survive this. It's been an eye opener and at least she knows who her friends are now. I'm very curious as to she will feel towards So. A man who follows up his words with actions. He doesn't make promises and then make excuses for why he didn't follow through.

Yeah, we know what team I'm firmly on now.

The visuals, music, writing, and depth of emotion and characters was phenomenal. This has fully and completely restored my faith. Now excuse me while I go rock in a corner and pet my cat.

Wow ... the best episode until now... couldn't stop crying :'( this drama its killing me :P

So well played from the princess to avoid the accusation for the poison, but the big suprise was when she was found out by Wook and made him feel so disappointed with her and forcing him to make an impossible choice between family or love :/ felt so sorry for Wook :(

Wook is not standing up for Hae Soo not because he want the throne but because he wants to save his family.
I couldn't stop my tears when he turned his back to her in the rain :'(

Court lady Oh impressed me very much with whatever she did or said,
as well as Wang So it was his rising this episode (he was already on top for me so how much more can he shine in my eyes <3) but especially when he holded his cloak OMG and in combination with the ost ahhhh the feelings....

WS " I am not a pathetic man who drinks poison because of a girl" <3 :'(
it just killed me ohhh my heart......

A perfect turning point

Yes, to me this is the perfect turning point for the story. There were some agonizingly bad scenes. There were scenes wherein I wanted to crush the queen and princess. I should probably hate this episode, but the few good scenes outweigh the bad ones.

I am loving this drama because of the feelings that it can invoke. Today, I got angry, I got sad, I even cried a bucket of tears because of one particular scene, but then, I was also happy. I was happy because finally, finally, FIIINNAAALLLYYY... It's my Wang So's turn to show his love for Soo. The fight is on. It's soooo on!
