Natsume Mochizuki was a magazine model in Tokyo but moves to the rural town of Ukigumocho. Mochizuki, feeling depressed about living in the boring countryside, meets Koichiro Hasegawa, a member of a locally prominent family of Shinto priests, and gets caught in an intense attraction… It’s an epic love story that intensely and beautifully depicts the feelings of omnipotence and frustration that comes with being a teenager.

Story:

Although the story can be confusing at first since it is very fast paced, it slows down as the story progresses, and makes more sense after understanding the characters. The story is heavier, and has a lot more dept than regular Shoujo live-actions, which I personally enjoyed. There are some touching scenes throughout the movie, especially at the ending.

Acting/Cast:

I was not a huge fan of Komatsu Nana's acting in read more her past works, but she improved so much in this movie! There are a few parts that are still a bit awkward, but her acting is overall pretty good in this movie. Suda Masaki's acting is always great, and once again, he did not disappoint me. He really embodied the character, and truly won me over by the end. I read somewhere that he lost a lot of weight for this role, and weighed around 50kg, which is crazy for his height! Overall, I really liked the chemistry between them since they have a similar aura.

Music:

I LOVED the music, and I thought that it went well with the movie. I downloaded a whole bunch of the songs after.

Overall:

I honestly love this movie so much. It is fast paced in the beginning, but everything fits together by the end. This is definitely different (in a good way) from regular Shoujo manga live-actions, but the scenes were filmed so beautifully. Overall, I loved the main characters and the chemistry between them.

I feel like several people were confused by this movie because they were thinking too much of it, I found that the answers to everything were on screen; it was quite a simple story actually.

If I had to sum it up it's a touching story about youth.

One thing I absolutely loved about the movie was the way it depicted youth. It showed you immature teenagers trying to act older than read more they actually are. The cast, while all much older than actual teenagers, managed to portray the childishness of adolescents perfectly, something that I find very scarce in media.

Another thing I enjoyed was the way it was shot, it was refreshing. Seeing all those gorgeous scenes made me want to watch the movie even more.

Would I watch this again? Most likely not but it made for a good experience and it was filmed so beautifully so I would definitely give it a go.

I recommend it to anyone who would like something to watch on a dull summer's evening!

I love the cinematography, very pleasing to the eyes. and the actors, suda masaki!!
A bit confused with the later part of the movie, could have shown more to explain/justify the last parts, but I love it.
Had a second lead syndrome, huhu, Daichan, mylabs. you are so adorable. :)

komatsu nana seriously grew up a lot. her acting is now so good it improved so greatly in so little time. this movie must've been very physically and emotionally exhausting for her.

and kudos to this movie. it has been a very emotionally exhausting watch as well. it's seriously deep; touched me in so many ways possible

i pieced it together best i could but feel like there were some big gaps in this where i couldn't understand what the hell they were talking about or where they were coming from....i think they assumed we all read the manga. which i didn't. it was a film that had promise even as dark as it was. But, the way it was directed I didn't care for.

Skins meets fancy editorial. Way darker than I expected. Not really sure how to feel about it.

This movie was amazing. At first I was confused about what was happening but as soon as I kinda let it go I started to understand it and it left me crying. It does leave a huge impact, although I feel this won't be the case for everyone. It's a deep story, portrayed very beautifully and pretty.
