I had mixed feelings about this drama when…

I had mixed feelings about this drama when I started watching. At first I was very much annoyed with the age gap thing, Euntak was too young and foolish and Kim Shin was in his mid 30s so with me being the same age as her this kinda turned me off. Soon their relationship begin to get really sweet and as she was getting older I was less annoyed. (and he was also 900+ years old, so there's nothing that we can really do djbewjdwn)The Grim Reaper x Sunny thing had me in tears! I was rooting for them since the beginning and that ending was truly adorable. :(To be honest the greatest relationship to happen in this drama was those two dumb*sses, Grim Reaper and the Goblin. I love them so much and they were so fun to watch.Regarding of the romance and friendships, the story was very good and I cried a lot, laughed a lot, it was a real roller coaster. Goblin worked it's way to the top of my favorite dramas.

A must watch

It was one of my first kdramas, i only classify as 10 kdramas that apart from being exeptional i could feel connected to it and felt it was a special show. I recomend everyone to give a chance to the show.

One of the all time greats

I don't need to review this. But if for some reason you are still debating whether or not to watch Goblin and are reading this review, you definitely need to watch it. It's not that I think everyone will love it because humans have varying taste, but if you like K-Dramas, there is a very good chance you will love this one. And since the chance you will love it is high, why not give it a try?

Goosebumps

I really liked the characters although sometimes I thought the goblin was immature. However it showed the signs of 1st love ? so it worked!

Interesting fantasy story

An interesting fantasy drama. Story line is of course not realistic but I can accept that since it is a 'fairytale'. I like that it is short - only 16 episodes. There are a lot of comic moments and a happy ending - helps lighten the mood and stressful day. The title of this drama should not be 'Goblin'. A goblin is an ugly, dwarf-like creature - but the main character is tall and handsome. If you wish to see a goblin, watch Harry Porter.

My gut feeling was right... Made me cry

This ep really made me cry the whole way through. I am really happy for Grim Reaper and Sunny. Finally they get to be together with nothing tying them down.Goblin got reunited with his bride in the end and is still a Guardian to so many people.Eun Tak's death was actually well reasoned, a missing soul who sacrificed her life to save innocent lives of those children and making her death mean something made me burst out in tears.....that takes lot of courage and strength and it lines with her character. My only problem is after Eun Tak's 3 lives are done what will happen to Kim Shin....Will he be continue to be the lonely shining guardian...that is such a sad fate....I don't want that...I want him to have another human life and be with Eun Tak...Oh well.

Plotholes?

This is either such an undeserving, rushed ending or I am just completely dense and understood everything wrong. Personally, it makes no sense in some scenes for example when she decides to block the truck with her car. The day care bus is right there on the road beside her and judging from the speed of the truck it would have crashed into the bus even with her blocking it because it keeps rolling in the direction of the bus? But nope they are all safe except her and probably the driver.

Then when Euntak rejects the tea to keep her memories I was totally confused - I thought this means she can either keep her memories in the afterlife or when she is born again. The end shows her being a student so I guess she was born again and with the memories of her past life which make totally no sense because even Sunny and the Grim Reaper didn't drink the tea but you can see them meeting each other again in their next life but without knowing each other. Or is the goblin's bride an exception I DO NOT UNDERSTAND.

And tbh they could have tried to make Sunny look older with makeup or special effects because a lot of years passed and she still looked the same. Of course you could say - she just looked after herself a lot and skincare products worked magic on her face but come on I don't believe it and neither do you.

NOT WORTH THE HYPE

I've given this drama so many chances bc of how hyped up it is with people saying that it's the best drama to have come out and such, but to be honest it was just so boring that couldn't continue it each time. The acting is most def amazing and that's why I've given it a 6/10 mostly, but the episodes were so boring even though the storyline did seem very promising to me.Still it's still way too overhyped in my opinion. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. But if you of course don't share the same opinion as me then that's fine too.

Goosebumps and Gong Yoo

**Alert: spoilers ahead**This was my first introduction to Gong Yoo and I can easily understand why he's so loved. He's gorgeous, emotive, and captivating in his scenes. This series easily had one of the strongest openings I've ever watched. The first few episodes hooked me in with its OST, masterful cinematography, special effects, and script. I loved the backstory and how it explained the Goblin's origin in a way that made me think of old bedtime stories. I was curious and enamored by Goblin right away. The show isn't perfect. I wouldn't say it's "over-hyped" like some of the other reviews say, but I do feel like the show had some issues that even made me skip through a bit with the last couple of episodes. Pacing was a huge issue. It became very obvious by episode 7 or 8 that the show lacked a main antagonist. That could have easily been remedied by introducing the evil spirit a lot sooner (and with less Halloween-y makeup) and less meandering with the "will she or won't she" pull the sword out. I also had an issue with the age gap. I had the same issue in My Roommate is a Gumiho. Why must the writers use a minor to captivate the heart of our 900+-year-old protagonist? Ick, guys. I was able to suspend disbelief a little bit ONLY because I knew the RL actress was actually 26 (to Gong's 38 - which is still a bit much, but still totally acceptable and not 19yr old vs 900+). I loved the bromance and the humor that the show inserted to give moments levity. I didn't really like the Cinderella syndrome our FL had with her constant need to summon Goblin to solve her problems instead of fight back and out of her own dilemmas (even though it was always fun watching him come to her rescue or show up disoriented and caught off guard). The ending was bittersweet for me with respect to Goblin's fate, but knowing he's no longer existing purely because of his punishment tells me he'll leave with her once she's lived through her 4th life, so in that respect it was beautifully written. I was sad to finish the show, despite its issues, and am having a hard time finding something else to watch that matches even close.

WOW. JUST WOW. That's the adjective that describes it.This drama truly is something else.
I'm always afraid to watch popular kdramas because i don't want to be disappointed but Goblin surpassed my expectations. Its definitely one of the very best drama on my list. Everyone is so natural in their acting, the chemistry between the two main characters is so strong that I wish in my heart they would date in real life because they are so cute together. And the second leads are as amazing as the main ones.

It had all the kdrama feels in one. I laughed my ass off and i've never cried as much in my life. It was 3 in the morning, and i was sobbing in my room. These characters ripped my heart out.
Have you ever tasted something so delicious that everything else is just a sad disappointment? That's how i feel after i finished it. Also, the ost was a masterpiece. I CAN'T RAVE ENOUGH.

Overall, you're gonna suffer. A LOT. But it's so worth watching!
