When Ji Bai finds Xu Xu already at the Zixi's mansion he is initially angry at her because he is worried, but they end up working together to fill in the missing pieces of the murder. They realize that Ye Qiao is only covering up for the real killer with each a theory on who killed Zixi. However, Zixi's grandfather interrupts them. Meanwhile, Yao Meng and Zhao Han are the precinct investigating the case themselves. Xu Xu and Ji Bai bring grandfather Ye back for questioning and the eldest son. When the son sees that they brought in his father he gets angry and starts attacking. To protect Xu Xu from getting attacked Ji Bai protects her and gets cut with a knife. Xu Xu treats his wound while discussing both of their suspects of the crime.
