So how would I describe this show? This story tried to be too much. It was a romance mixed with slapstick humor, and dark thriller. How did those elements combine? Not too well, actually....but the parts that were good were good enough to keep me watching until the end.

This show started off strong and I was loving it up until about a little over halfway, when it dawned on me that read more the story was just kind of nonsense. But the leads are so freaking adorable (and probably every teenage girl's dream fantasy romance) that they kept sucking me back in every week. I said the other day that I didn't think I'd had a girl crush on anyone in a show yet, but Park Bo Young may have reached that status for me. And Park Hyung Shik is almost too pretty - but his acting as Ahn Min Hyuk crushing on Do Bong Soon --- I just "can't even" with him. Too cute for words. They were so cheesy together, but this ahjumma was eating it up. Seriously....this romance is what the show has going for it. But even that is unrealistically done. This show is just fluff....lots and lots of fluff.

The story line is chaotic. There is an evil villain that is just too horrifying to be in a rom-com. It was very jarring to go from sweet romance scenes to a creepy masked kidnapper who is terrorizing young women. And the slapstick antics of the gangsters and the high-school gangsters and the screechy femme planning team leader was funny the first time but became just useless filler that was pretty annoying fast forward material. And a lot of people hated that, although played for laughs, the mom seemed abusive (may be why the writers tried to explain that one away in the final episode.) There were funny parts, sure, but they overplayed their hand with them quite a bit.

The only thing I would rewatch in this show is the moments with Min Hyuk and Bong Soon.

Would I recommend it....sort of. I mean, you'd have to know going in that the story makes no sense, but as a backdrop for a super cute, cheesy beyond belief romance...if you can deal with that then, yeah, go for it. I was entertained for sure (otherwise the rating would be like a 4). But if you need a plot that is logical and a more 'mature' (not THAT kind of mature, but more grown up) romance, then this one won't be right for you.

The production and cast were promising. The storyline was quite messy.

The entire artistic production would receive 9/10 from me for a romcom drama like this. The direction was great; the set and props were outstanding; the cast was full of both eye candy and skills. The cinematography was amazing. It was good to look at. I just wish they gave much more effort into blending their multiple genres together.

THE CAST: read more I'm never a fan of any of them, but I believe they did a really great job. The set of 3 leads owned their roles. I even believe that the writers wrote this story with Park Boyoung in their mind. Tiny and cutesy role is definitely for her, and she's a good actress as well. This is only my second drama with her, however, and I believe that the next one with her is gonna start boring me a bit. Her tone and acting is just so *her* like she was in Oh My Ghost. This happened to me with Hwang Jungeum in every single drama she was in as well.

The story, however, was a strange mix of romance, comedy, supernatural(?), police investigation, and even bloody thriller. How would they mix into a good storyline? There's no way. I believe they needed to take out at least one, or tone down each of them to make everything flow.

The dynamic of this storyline is super strange. It was like an incredibly bumpy road instead of a smooth rollercoaster. The comedy element was almost too forced that it wasn't funny. Some parts were even disgusting that just made me fast-forward throughout the show.

The thriller part started out really strong in the beginning which tipped off the consistent cute and comical tone of the entire Do Bongsoon character. That villain character was just too over-the-top that the entire sub plot around this guy doesn't fit in with the tone of this story at all.

Plus, the entire reason Bongsoon and Hyungshik got together was because *his* case, not the one in her neighborhood. He was being threatened, and that case was solved so easily and quickly. It was definitely just there to bring the two together.

The love story between the two/three leads was nothing special. Nothing really developed or had an impact on any characteristic change. It was just there out of nowhere. I have to admit that they were cute and fluffy together though. They were almost too cheesy together and I usually don't prefer that kind of super cringy stuff, but I believe it helped even out the darker tones regarding the villain. It still isn't the ideal way for such purpose.

But all in all, I wouldn't keep watching until the end if it wasn't entertaining. Like I said, I liked the cinematography and the cast a lot (surprisingly, given that I'm never a fan of any of them). It was something to watch in my free time and I did take my time to finish it. The bad parts weren't soooo bad that it let me down. At least the first episode started off nicely. If you wanna see for yourself, I don't recommend you against it. I have a reputation for dropping series halfway through if the first few episodes are slow and have too much flashback. This one was fine.

Both dramas are amazing you must watch it to get a get laugh and sweetness of romance. They both have strong female lead characters and they are slightly different with story line.

both strong (in SWDBS quite literally) woman who stand up for themselves, both deal with a big crime(s) and have serious tone while also having at the same time this lighter more humor/comedy tone which creates in both a good balans. Also the male leads are both equally adorable (just like the female leads) and have a lot of cute gestures/actions.

Really enjoyed this one. It was all fluffy and feel good. It is nice to sometimes watch a show without all the usual cliches of a Kdrama to manufacture drama in a show. They did use the serial killer/kidnapper as the primary drama in the show though, which drove the plot along. Otherwise the series could have been 8 episodes of fluffy feel-goodness.

I tried to finish it. I did. But at that scene where Min Hyuk and Gook Doo told Bong Soon she couldn't drink, I just could not. This drama was terrible. Sorrynotsorry.

hyungshik and bo young both are baes, they were such a delight to watch although time to time i felt as if i was prying into their privacy as a couple XD they were that good and convincing
even though the plot fell short time to time when it came to the thriller parts for me it reedemed them by comic relief and very satisfying lovey-dovey scenes
overall it goes right into my re-watch list which i reach for whenever i need more sugary happiness in my life ;)

Lmao what was that finale? They legit smashed everything they forgot about Ji Soo's character in the last episode along with his horrible timing, tried to accommodate for mom's abusiveness, forced so much PPL in one episode that I could run my own business with how much PPL they used, rushed the wedding + her having kids (they've been dating for like a month or less than that!), Bong Gi was left in the dust again, and more small fillers + characters that I could care less for.
Overall: 6/10 They forgot the Subway.

      Valid points; well-taken.
I could've given it a 7/10 but the warm feels at the end just overpowered all those issues and made me give extra points to the drama. hehe. ^^

And they never resolved the story of MInHuyk and his father and brothers...for me it was an intersting subplot and had potential...

@blacklatina Yeah I noticed that also. I guess it was just used as a plot device for BS to fall in love w/ him.. the typical "I'm a wounded man with too many issues who isn't happy despite my riches".

I agree. This drama had a lot of potentials but it seemed like the writer only wanted to focus on a shallow story that is full of feel-good fluff.

The finale episode is just ❤️❤️❤️❤️.
I will miss the doppelganger. I enjoyed his acting and his character. ^_^

I don't know how to rate this drama, though. The ending just made me forget about all the annoying plot holes from the previous episodes. So... maybe an 8.5/10?

Will definitely be watching this again soon. ^^

another drama folks seem to enjoy, that i think is just so-so. the beginning was fantastic -- light and funny, with some serious undertones. then it took this dark, twisted turn down a rabbit hole, while still trying to keep it's cute, fluffy, comedic air. that strange marrying of genre's didn't work for me. that and some of the later scenes with the mob bosses and high school kids, which often felt like fillers.
i kept watching for two reasons -- 1). since the writer decided to throw a suspense-thriller aspect into an otherwise action rom-com drama, i wanted to see if the psychopath had a backstory that would plausibly tie him into the story 2). as many have also stated, the adorable antics of dbs and amh were pure gold. they were silly, yes, but too cute for words. and park hyung shik was a showstopper.

      I completely with @101Rubellite and @displacedmoon.

I was starting to wonder if I was just being too harsh but am relieved to know many feel the same.

Loved the AMH character though and the scenes between DBS and AMH were so cute.

In fact, I think it will be my top 3 dramas or even top 1

I know this drama is no the best one, I know things could have been done better (I have a list of which one could have :P), I know some topics and jokes in this drama was "no go", but DESPITE all it's flaws and problems, it gave me something no other drama ever have or I experienced new things thanks to this drama.

    - anticipation: never in my entire drama life I have been waiting for next weekend so much as with this drama, weeks were flying so fast, that I am still thinking it was yday when I saw first episode. I counted days for the next episode, waited till late at night for the EN subs. xD

    - obsession: to the point I was fangirling, reading, following news and info about this drama; watching behind the scene videos; rewatching scenes over and over again...

    - OTP: I never experienced the OTP syndrome (and didn't understand it fully before I get one), so it was a new experience for me to ship the main couple such much O.O I just loved every moment of BongBong and MinMin on screen. Acting showed by PBY and PHS was outstanding for me. Especially PHS who basically BECAME Ahn Min Hyuk character - to the point he himself thinks PHS = AMH ❤) - where this guy learnt how to play... he was a singer and idol, maybe he missed his true calling as an actor before? XD PBY was super adorable and cute too :)

    - rollercoaster of emotions: I was crying, I was laughing, I was thrilled, I was angry and I was even annoyed (yes, annoyed and angry at this drama and some parts too :) ).

    - sharing is caring: I met so many new drama fans thanks to this drama with whom I could talk and analyse every episode (that was awesome!), I even joined Viki translating team JUST FOR THIS DRAMA - to share it with more Polish viewers (coz I thought it was worth sharing!). Watching the final episode all together with my PL SWDBS Viki Team was awesome and we commented and laughed together on live while watching it! :)

I know this drama is not the best and has its flaws, I know many drama lovers may not like it - but all in all, dramas are made to give us entertainment and this one gave me all these and more.

    I will miss it. ❤

If it weren't for the useless, extra scenes of the monks, guys & the mums, I would've given a higher score but overall, it's a really good drama! <3

The chemistry between Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik is one of the strongest that I have ever seen! I was determined to give this drama a 9 or a 9.5 but the chemistry pushed me to give it a 10!!!!!!!!!!
