Love this Princess Agents drama. Love the cast, specially the two main lead, Xinger and Yuwen Yue. This drama is really addicting and it makes you wondering what is going to happen next. I can't say much of the story line because of spoilers. Give this drama a try, you will not be disappointed. there are only 32 episodes that have been aired so far. I have rewatched them so many time already.

As Princess Agents is ongoing this review will be getting updated as I go through **

So far I love this drama it's characters are aces, plot progression though slow at times is well paced with information being told at good intervals. The OST's are amazing!!!! I love how everything is timed perfectly with each scene. Good action sequences and political aspects, strategic plans, scheming, inner and outer strength growing in our read more characters. Character growth is also really well done. Chemistry between all the characters is elegant, anticipated and well executed. The story line so far is absolutely one of my favorite C-Dramas up to date.

Okay that's where I'm at for now. Also even though I'm not finished I can say this with 100% certainty that I will be able to re-watch this series in the future as of today I have re-seen the first episode again.

If you want thoughts/reviews/slight recaps of episodes I have them up to episode 16.

WATCH THIS SHOW. It's in no way a regret. It may have a lot of episodes but the story and actors make it go by so fast :D Give it a try what do you have to lose? (An amazing experience of a show that's what lol)

Both dramas are surprisingly good.
The cutie Yue Qi from princess agents is the male lead in the eternal love.
The eternal love is a mini online series that can save y'all from the drama slump after watching princess agents.
Cuz we are all so tired out from Yu wen yue and Xinger's slowly brewed romance. The romance in the eternal love is like instant coffee. It will make you swoon cuz Yue Qi is about to teach his Yu Wen Yue how love is suppose to be done.

I know they're different genres since one revolves around war and the other about the injustices slaves go through, but there are A LOT of similarities.

-Both female leads start off as lowly maids even if they weren't originally and were actually part of a higher class (in Maids she loses her status and in PA she loses her memory).
-Both female leads fight for justice and especially for the rights of the poor.
-They are both alone against the whole world basically.
-A cold male lead that hardly ever smiles.
-Romance that is important but isn't, however, the main focus.
-Female lead falls in love with the second male lead and hates the male lead at first.
-Good second male lead that becomes evil and corrupted towards the end but he still loves the female lead.
-In both dramas there's a depiction of the lives of maids and slaves who are treated badly because of the powerful nobles.
-Female lead is strong and isn't crazy in love with anyone.
-Second female lead is a noble in Maids and a Princess in PA and is in love with the second male lead.
-Delusional second female lead who was once nice but became evil, trying to make the female lead's life a hell bc of her love for the second male lead.
-Awful noble people are present in both.
-Once the female lead begins to trust the male lead, she discovers something that makes her lose her trust in him.

its so f*** up!!! What I don't understand is many americans movies are always like contracted for like 2-3 movies, and if they are not, than many actors will still come back. Where in chinese dramas, it seems like if there's a second season, hardly any original cast comes back. I wonder why that is?

And THIS is why I still enjoy Korean Dramas, despite the somewhat formulaic approach. At least you know the endings will be satisfying - many happy, some not so much, but either way they know how to wrap up all the story points well.

Chinese dramas could be so awesome, if only they knew how to pace and edit the drama well so they can have a good ending.

It's because China is a Communist country and the government controls all messaging and story arcs that the media and entertainment industry convey to the public that isn't contrary to their political beliefs or, from their perspective, interfering with the government control by the Communist Party.

Because of this fact, these dramas have to be completely PRE-produced and handed to the censorship board prior to airing. There are many a completed drama that got shelved by the censors for one reason or another that have never seen the light of day. You'll wait and wait, and they'll postpone the release, and eventually people will forget. That means, even when the drama is completed, they may require to edit or what-not and the process can take a month, months, or years. The actors have to make a living, so they are constantly going into other shows to make a salary. They don't have time to wait around for everything to get resolved...and because this process is not set-in-stone and there is NO WAY to PREDICT how long the process will be, no actor can fully commit to anything until they are CERTAIN the direction it will go. It's pretty much up in the air. ...if they are a popular actor/actress the already booked schedule is more than likely, and that's just how the process falls. It's not anyone's fault in particular... they live in a country that tries to control their mouths and minds, it's the price they pay to live in that kind of society.

I just can't stop myself from going to your post of XingYue. I'm in awe. How can he be so in love with Xinger? They both are so madly in love with each other after they met again. I so love it. Now i'm really looking forward to season 2 with original cast. no one else can play XingYue, except ZLY and LGX.

For those who may be going thru Yuwen Yue withdraw (I seriously am already), I really suggest his variety show Let Me Go Baby - it is DEFINITELY not Yue Gongzi but LGX being himself which is actually pretty funny to watch. Maybe it'll help lighten the heartache we're all feeling. I think I'm going to start watching one of his older dramas, "Drama Go Go". He plays the second lead because it's his earlier work, but I'd watch him in anything right now.

By the way, have you all noticed that compared to ZLY's filmography, LGX barely has any work?? I mean, sure he's more of a movie guy so he has more movies than dramas but still, it's a stark contrast. They both debuted around the same time, maybe a year or two apart. Geez, ZLY is really hard working I guess. He needs to pick up the slack!! ;)

true. ZLY is way too popular. Before Princess Agents, I didn't even know LGX. I watched his movies before, but I never noticed him. ZLY always make all of her co-stars popular. LGX definitely needs to pick up the slack.

Off topic but am I the only one who has always wondered why the prince of Liang is on the poster when he only appeared in a few episodes & didn't have a very important role?
They could have put the princess of Liang or even Yuan Song, the prince of Wei because they held more important roles anyway.

      darcy 15 days ago

Right! I love Xiao Ce to bits, but it would have made more sense to have Yuan Song on the poster. My feeling is that in terms of the story, the major players were Chu Qiao > Yan Xun > Yuwen Yue > Chun'er > Yuan Song > Xiao Yu. It feels like they just included Deng Lun because he's more popular than Niu Junfeng.

And yes, I ship him with her too but too bad he had other intentions and was kind of cunning lol but let's be honest, that made him more mysterious and made all of us fall in love with him and ship him with CQ even more haha so yeah xD

Holy shit, I just looked at ZLY upcoming films and she literally has a full schedule! 3 movies and 2 tv shows in 2018. So her chances of doing season two is very slim and if she does agree than the production team would have to wait at least a year for her, that means we won't get to see season two for at least two years. (Which I am totally okay with) but money talks and they are probably not willing to wait that long for her. :(

@Linh: The problem is that most of her fans don't want her to continue working with the production company. I don't think they want her to do a second season at all.

i think i understand, since the director screwed up so much on this one and the drama was still a huge hit, the fans might not want her to take another crappy work from this director again.
