Subaru and her twin brother Kazuma share a dream in becoming ballet dancers, but their passion is discouraged by their father. After Kazuma's death from a hereditary illness, dancing became Subaru's only happiness and she yearns to lose herself in dance. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she runs into cabaret owner Isuzu, who recognizes the talent in Subaru and trains her in her nightspot. But to become a professional ballerina, Subaru has to overcome harsher challenges than merely satisfying the cabaret drunkards. Spurred on by her rivaling dance companions, Subaru enters an international dance competition, to vie for recognition and a scholarship to any top ballet company in the world. Subaru and her companions soon discover that there are more to compete than the championship, and tests of friendship, betrayal and self-worth come one after another. Gradually the youngsters learn about themselves as dancers, as persons and as friends. Edit Translation

This was a good movie. The story was well told. Some of the acting was a little cheesy but over all it was good. I think the story was a little hurried. It would have been nicer if it has lasted a little longer. I liked that it wasn't just about 1 type of dance. It is nice to see all types of dancing being recognized. I enjoyed the way they expressed how emotional dance can be & that the expression of that emotion is more important than the technique being flawless. Rly enjoyed it.

Its was an over all ok movie but compared to the manga i thought that the Subaru that was casted was a bit too elegant for the roal and not adventerous and rough like the original subaru. The acting was also a bit akward especially in the parts where the actors spoke english. At moments where actors entered a scene was also really akward. When actors exited and entered a scene it kinda felt like i was watching a play instead of a movie.
The dancing didnt really make me go wow! when i was watching it. All the dancers danced the same tbh. I also wished that they would have incoporated some of the impactful moments from the manga.
