There’s not much to say that can do this movie justice. It’s beautiful and slow paced,taking its time to unravel the story and personalities of each character that is important to the story line. It shows a wholesome love between two women very nicely, having those giddy moments of them being playful,and obviously sexual moments. But it also shows a more realistic side to romantic relationships, tension, “bickering”, lying,etc. And may I include, the realistic side of being lgbt+, a scene in particular breaks my heart and almost made me want to cry as I also wanted to wipe my feelings of homosexuality away, and it’s the moment where Yoon-ju is drunk, overcome by emotion due to Jisoo acting strange, she pulls her male friend Yeong-ho into a kiss, trying to erase her feelings for jisoo almost or perhaps her homosexuality. From then on, it only gets “sadder”,I won’t get into detail but that should say enough. But despite almost half the movie being lonesome, the ending tied it up well, although not a bad nor good ending, it was left open, leaving the watcher (or Atleast me) feeling bitter sweet, but at the same time content, that Jisoo could apologize and show her actual feelings one last time. At first i didn't like it, but the end was so good that it make me like it ,Story
The story revolve around 2 women that met each other in some weird situation , the development of their relationship is quite fast and they end up in kind of a relationship without title,
Yoon-Joo ( 32 years old acting like a kid) she act like a virgin who never talk to people or even had any interact with them, more than that, it's like she born yesterday and kind of a social cripple.
So it's hard to august her introvert personality
She delusion herself that Jisoo like her but it's not the case, apperenatly Jisoo use her us a rebound and she only care what her father think and don't give a damn about Yoon-Joo
So she act to Yoon-Joo as nothing , using her just for sex,. while Yoon-Joo showing her love and affection and trying hard but she is so boring and dumb , every time she open her mouth and want to share what upon her hear Jisoo just make her shut up and ignore her feelings. so it's hard to watch.
To sum it up, it's like a first discovery of adulthood and your kind of Sexual identity, she is try to find herself through her difficulties in life,she don't find her self
so just at the end it's feel like she beginning to understand the pain about life, the role between them switch.
suddenly Yoon-Joo is the stronger and not wanting Jisoo anymore.
About the place of lesbian in the SK society , , it's influate on their relationship but i don't think its the main reason for the conflict between them, although it's have power,
first: it's the first Kmovie i watch with 2 women inlove, it's not so typical in general so in SK...even more, i guess it's very difficult for them to make this kind of a film,
second: there's characters that make them understand they are not welcome in their environment as if it a disease...so it's hard

I really really liked this movie. It starts off with Yoon-ju developing a major crush on Ji-soo. They end up having a sweet relationship, but the twist is their unknown fate. They are both pressured by the people in their lives to meet men and secure a boyfriend. When Ji-soo returns to her hometown, she sort of gives in to that mentality as well, and their relationship grows cold. The ending is very vague, almost incomplete, but this is a very accurate depiction of how LGBTQ couples, especially in Korea, don’t know if their relationship will last forever or if it is fleeting. I think it is a very sad but real message that their LGBTQ viewers can resonate with. Was this review helpful to you?
Mature and realistic depiction of a sapphic love story
It was nice to see a feature-length wlw movie again (and one that is directed by a woman!) which depicted the two women's relationship realistically. That was what I liked about the movie the best: how it felt so real.I also loved the cinematography of it, the long shots and the views of Seoul as the characters were standing on high places, the lack of background music for some scenes, the way that the scenes themselves were rather shorter and changing often. It created an artistic vibe that was nice to look at.
I liked how the movie was for sure about the two women's relationship but it also focused on their lives out of it. We got to see Yoon-joo preparing for the art exhibition and Ji-soo's not-so-close relationship with her father. Both of them were also interacting with each of their respective friends.
Overall I rate this movie 8.5/10.

Love and hope
the story is well constructed and well narrated through a magnificent performance by the two protagonists who with their day to day are introducing us to their love story and in detail they are exposing their life story, which explains the difficulty of fitting in a society so conservative that it rejects homosexuality and much more lesbian women.wanting to fit into those standards generates pain in the characters who do not stop loving each other. It is not the typical drama of lesbians doomed to fail because the story is built on the basis of wanting to bet on their real love story. and with it there is hope

[Written/Watched 22 Sep, 2019 for Letterboxd. Expanded 1/21/2021]"Our Love Story" follows the typical formula of the Lesbian Love Story genre. Presumed heterosexuality is challenged by a unique attraction to another woman, somewhat open, but not quite out. The early parts of the film are preoccupied with their sexual exploration before the script finally tires it hand at character development.
Where "Our Love Story" excels is in the normal, slice-of-life moments between Yoon-ju and Ji-soo. When they goof off, when they just talk to each other about their lives. How Yoon-ju's closest friend reacts to the news that she's in a relationship with a woman, is refreshing. He's supporting, teasing, but never condemnatory, and wants to meet Yoon-ju's sweetheart.
Problem is, following the establishment, the relationship between Yoon-ju (an art student) and Ji-soo (a bartender), begins to drag downward into the tried and true roads of "doomed from the start" melodrama that sees their relationship break down almost immediately after it begins.
Ji-soo, despite her self-comfort, fears potential homophobia from her father, who isn't supportive. That insecurity creeps into her relationship with Yoon-ju, and when the ole reliable ex-girlfriend subplot comes around, Ji-soo is no longer a dependable partner.
To be blunt, outside of the family drama, Ji-soo's subplot with the girlfriend who never feels consequential to the film's overall story. It feels forced into the narrative simply to pile on the problems the characters already have, but aren't being dealt with in the story.
When Yoon-ju's art project begins to suffer as a result of her preoccupation with Ji-soo, her circumstances are made worse when her roommate begins to give her the cold shoulder shortly after admitting she's in love with a woman. In a moment that feels out-of-nowhere, Ji-soo blindsides Yoon-ju and declares their relationship is over.
"Our Love Story" never recovers from the low point it languishes in and ends on an rather incomplete note, leaving the audience questioning whether the rekindling of Ji-soo and Yoon-ju's relationship is even worth it or possible. It's not as far as I'm concerned.

Floja e inconclusa
Considerando que no hay muchas películas GL (sobre todo coreanas), tenía muchas ganas de ver esta, así que me apena decir que no me produjo nada. Fue una experiencia muy similar a cuando ví el BL To My Star: no entendía por qué los protagonistas se gustaban, ni hacia dónde iba la relación, ni tampoco sentía que sabía absolutamente nada de los personajes.A nivel técnico, no me disgusta como está filmada, y me parece interesante que no haya nada de música, títulos incluidos. Algo positivo que resalto es que a pesar de ser una película lenta, con tomas largas de los personajes haciendo nada, sentí que se pasó bastante rápido (cosa que con To My Star, por ejemplo, no me pasó). Así que el ritmo está bien llevado y supongo que es entretenida. Las actuaciones están bien, nada del otro mundo.
No sé si es que yo esperaba una especie de slice of life romántico sobre dos chicas conociéndose y la evolución de su relación, que mi decepción tal vez vino a partir de esa concepción errónea. Sentí que la relación iba a las corridas, sin darme tiempo a saber nada de las protagonistas y tampoco entendí por qué a Ji Soo le gustaba Yoon Joo.
A menos que el único objetivo del film sea mostrarte las consecuencias de la falta de comunicación y cómo una persona enamorada puede descuidar su vida, no sé cuál fue la finalidad. No se cierra ningún cabo suelto, desde los conflictos académicos y personales de Yoon Joo, a los problemas de Ji Soo con su padre o la subtrama de su ex. El final es tan abierto que te deja con esa sensación de vacío e incertidumbre que te deja pensando... "¿Y entonces?"
En fin, una peli que no me produjo nada, ni me aportó nada. Una pena.
