idk what's everyone complaining about but Kento fits Oreki role perfectly, he's even the dream casting for it - coming from an avid Hyouka manga/novel reader for years. I am sure he will show us a splendid, top notch performance just like he did in Orange and One Week Friend. He improved a lot over the past few years. Just let him live like like how do ya'll want him to improve his acting skills and get better at it if he refuses the roles and projects he's been offered? That's a contradiction for itself and like telling a model to refuse works or a singer to stop singing bc they are becoming ' too mainstream' after lending a few gigs. It's clearly just an exaggeration and if you look at other actors/actresses Kento isn't even near mainstream. So let's watch it first and then complain.

No I'm not saying he shouldn't accept offers, what I meant on the previous comment is that the casting directors should have a wider range of options for the male leads since Kento is appearing in almost every live action there is. He is dubbed as the Prince of Live Action Films by many. I agree that he is good in One Week Friends and will watch Orange for sure.

I was referring to ppl in general a lot tell him to improve but then say he shouldn't accept all the offers he's given. For me I think it's remarkable that he took a step back from a lot of Shoujo offers this year and decided to play different roles instead. Not just the hot guy who barley smiles. It shows he has potential hence a lot of offers and is permanetly working hard on his skills. Cast in every live action movie is a clear exaggeration - at least for me (in comparison to other actors; Taishi Nakagawa for example is snatching a lot recently). He was cast in five well known manga adaptations this year. Each with different roles. That's not much, his job and surely the directors casted him for a reason since popularity only brings you to a certain point, can easily be replaced, and doesn't last. He's establishing himself right now, hence accepting pretty much all the roles he is offered without asking which is a good thing or he might end up like a lot of famous pretty boys actors who lose their offers once it died out. Idk about 'prince of live action' my japanese friend said he is only a rising rookie nothing more and not even close to mainstream - tho popular around gay ppl and young girls.

Yamazaki Kento has been busy with movies for 2017 but he is main lead in almost every movie coming out, I mean I dont complain but he is so typecasted and he is only 22 yr's, but on a side note, he has been paired with both sisters Suzu and now with Alice lol they both beautiful tho

They need to tone down on casting Kento on every live action drama/movie there is, it's becoming too mainstream that every time I see the live action, I can only see him as Kento and not the character he's supposed to portray.

I know it is funny, like in other dramas all the girls swoon over him when he is the cold hearted main lead, but in this one he was like the goofy type and all the girls were swooning on the other guy....

He really has talent for sure but it's being overshadowed and covered by the repetitive type of character he is playing. He is really good in One Week Friends, his role and performance there is a bit different from the usual cold and mysterious guy. It's actually refreshing to see him take a different kind of role.

Another Kento live action eh? Idk man, it's becoming mainstream. I never liked a live action with him in it but let's see since it is a good novel/anime I might change my mind (:
