If you're Kento's fan, or even if you just like japanese movies, you'll know that his speciality is high schoolers. He plays a high school boy (again) this time though not in a romantic shoujo comedy. Rather, it's about four students who are trying to solve a mystery of the past. The mystery itself isn't that interesting, though the story is kind of entertaining, with the flashbacks and the small other cases that are solved. Other than that, the movie hasn't anything else to offer. Basicly, there is no romance, no friendship dynamics, no slice of life high school nostalgia, no deep character development. So, why watch it? For the small mysteries the students are solving, and maybe if you're a Kento fan.

This is basically an anime series of 22 episodes of 23 minutes turned into a live action movie less than 2 hours, so it feels like lot's of short stories and mysteries compressed which led to omitting the slice of life and the interactions between the main characters. Anyway, for those who have not watched the anime series might be hard to relate to the characters since in this movie we barely get any information about their background but still you are going to enjoy the mystery which upgrades by time passing and make even you thinking about a hypothesis. However for those who have watched the anime series you will find the characters more interesting but less than the anime since there are barely any slice of life, school, comedy scenes which were the missing link in the anime between school genre and mystery in contrast to the movie which feels more mature. All in all it's a good watch worth the 2 hours if you can tolerate the slow pace in the begining but nothing remarkable or unforgetable.

I decided to watch the movie because according to its description it contains mystery, one of the genre or theme that I love. The storyline is quite amazing it would make you think at the same time. Watching the film calms my mind but at the same time it it will try to release your mind's curiosity from its deep sleep.

I can really feel the calmness in my mind while watching it. By the way, there was an answer that the woman main character wants to remember because when she was young upon hearing the answer to her question she cried so much which bothered her all her life. The answer was revealed at the end obviously. I don't know if upon knowing the answer it would affect you like what it did to me but honestly it made me cry not that much though. It made me cry cause the answer was so meaningful.

Regarding the acting skills, well it seems that the characters gave justice to their respective roles. They did what they are supposed to do and I am quite satisfied with it.

Some might see the movie as boring because there are only limited characters. Just see it for yourself. My rating for this movie is 7.5/10. If asked if I am going to recommend it, my answer is yes definitely. You must know the answer to the quest that the main character yearns to remember because it will give you realizations.

By the ways it gives emphasis on how you should live your high school life. It encourages every HS students to live a red-coloured HS life and not the gray-coloured one.

That's it for now.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]

As a big fans of Hyouka – I watched the anime for a thousand times I think (^_^;) – I'm a little bit disappointed with the live action. The story is good, didn't have a lot of difference with the anime. But! I'm sorry to all Hirose Alice's fans, but I think she didn't fit to be Chitanda Eru ╮(︶︿︶)╭ In my opinion, she's too mature, Chitanda is far too cute for Hirose. But again, that's my opinion.
