It centers around a strong father figure and his adult children as they face internal family issues plus external struggles with their significant others. The supporting characters are diverse and in depth. A very good blend of comedy and tearful scenes. It is never boring even being over 50 episodes.

Does Jung So Min remind anyone of Yoon Eun Hye's acting? It seems so uncanny sometimes (unless this has been pointed out before, my apologies!). I haven't watched any of So Min's dramas, but WOW, there's so much emotion in her speech and gestures/gazes. It reminds me of Eun Hye.

Well, i don't like Yoon Eun Hye's acting at all so i don't agree with you on this. Jung So Min's acting skills are way more better than Eun Hye's for me. So Min makes me laugh and cry but Yoon Eun Hye has never made so.

That would be your opinion then. I've watched her dramas and I like her acting. So it's a matter of opinion. I never said she was EXACTLY like her, I was comparing them/how it reminds me of Eun Hye. Did you not read my comment? I also haven't seen any of So Min's dramas a part from this, so maybe my mind would change if I watched another one of her dramas. But it still stands as an observation on my end. If you haven't watched Missing You, or Lie to Me then you probably wouldn't see what I mean.

Hearing all positive buzz, I started to watch recently and at ep18. So far I'm finding it a bit draggy. For example, it took 3-4 discussions between Husband and Wife to allow the actor-Son to live in their home. The pacing could be faster. I'm mildly interested but hardly addicted, I reached ep18 through help of fast forward. I really want to like this more seeing all the love.

Question - Does it get better after ep18?

You find it draggy cause it's a long drama and it's way more detailed than other dramas. Not because it's actually draggy. :) You'll get used to the speed and you'll love it.

You won't regret it once u realized u have become a family with this family. When you might be in love with Joong hee already but you don't know your feelings.

Thanks Claudia, Serin. & Shelly. I'm now at ep 28 and pacing has been better. The plot is getting addicting. Thanks for encouraging me to hang in there

Once u get to 30, you'll know what ship to hop on. You'll know how we all feel.

I definitely ship the Jung Hee and Mi Yeong, next Cheol Soo and Ra Yeong. And while I really like the eldest daughter especially when she gets into kick-ass mode, I do still find the scenes of eldest Daughter with Husband and Mother in law long. Is the eldest Daughter romance the lead couple? I even timed it, I think they allotted 50% screen time to eldest Daughter and family. I thought actor romance was main plot line?

I've never watched a family kdrama before and I was curious if there was like a main lead, or if the entire family were the main leads? If so does this generally apply to most family kdramas?

Maybe the one who is "most" important it's Jung Hee, since everything goes round him, but all the family it's really important. Every family member has it's own storyline, love story and more. It's really good

Weekend family dramas(50 episodes average) are like these with multiple story lines

    • Reply
      ClaudiaKdramaFan 6 days ago

Most of family dramas, has different main leads and their own story lines, it has enough episodes to do so.
