I read somewhere that the original was better and that if you liked it, you would find this one falls short to expectations. So, if you're planning on watching something that copies or exceeds the original, consider yourself forewarned.

Since I have not seen the original, I have to say I really enjoyed it. Then again, it was the first time I watched an all-action-packed Korean film.

The relationship between the main characters and the lengths they go through to show us the meaning of loyalty and "family," while everyone gets beat up, shot or blown up was surprising. Never thought I would feel emotional watching something like it.

The end...well...makes you glad it is finally over. I think it deserved a better finale and that the director just got tired and wrapped everything up by deciding to have everyone act out of character.

I don't really believe that the "rewatch" value should be considered as "brilliant", but I would watch it again.

A Better Tomorrow does have action but I can't say that it is the real draw. Mostly this is due to the action not being shown till the very end. The real story here is the relationship between the main characters. JJM, SSH, and KKW really got to show thier acting chops which surprised me because I thought this was just another action/ crime movie. At times I felt like I was watching a melodrama lol. Really though I love the characters and acting, the story/plot was just average which the long runtime didnt help. The ending was fitting for this type of movie so be prepared. Overall the actors are what carry this movie which makes it a good enough watch. I cant say if id watch it again or not just because the story wasnt bad but it wasnt amazing either. Worth watching once though.

The whole story is in the synopsis (there is a mistake though Tae Min is not the one shot in the leg). There isn't much depth. It is an action movie with a lot of blood. There isn't much to it. I do think the men make their relationship more touching because of the actors, not the story itself.

The acting is top notch with great actors Joo Jin Mo, Song Seung Hun, and Kim Kang Woo. If they weren't in this movie then I probably wouldn't have watched it.

The music is appropriate.

I won't rewatch this.

If you like mindless action, then this is the movie for you.

Why are Korean so good with writing story plots?? This movie is very touching. It's a masterpiece. It's a very touching story about two brothers and the many things they have gone through. I couldn't help but cry almost throughout the movie. It's so heartbreaking what these two brothers have gone through and the love that they have. It's an amazing movie!

I have not seen the original Hong Kong series that this movie is based on, so I don't know what the differences may be, but it's probable that the original was better than this remake. This movie focuses mostly on the relationship between the main four leads - at the start of the movie they fall into a particular hierarchy, but something happens and the balance of power begins to shift.

Unfortunately most of the action happens at the start, and then at the end of the movie. I did hope the movie could explain more how Jung Tae Min built his empire to become the top in Busan. I think Kim Kang Woo and Joo Jin Mo put it good performances as the brothers who share a love-hate relationship, portraying the conflicting emotions they feel towards each other and the difficult past they've had.

Overall verdict: alright in terms of action, with a moving story about brotherhood.

one word HANDSOME, the cast 3 1/2 are just beautiful creatures, starting with jo jin mo from frozen flower, his dongsaeng kim kang woo from haeundae lovers and song seung hun from my princess aigoo aigoo seriously some major shit goin on. and the 1/2 is lim hyung joon from marrying the mafia. ok back to the movie. apart from me being biased, this was some cold movie with alot of guns and blood. i couldnt give it all 10 coz some parts were unclear like i dint have any idea if they were in nk or sk or thailand. it also says that jin mo was the head of the gang but seung hun was the one who was a bad ass. anyways must see if u wanna stare, but theres some sad scenes especially the very end.
