At first both of these I doubted to start it

But they ended to be my top dramas ever.

A genius but social less competent and less emotional male lead investigates crime cases. The female lead in Stranger is less girly and stronger but also kind-hearted and intelligent. She makes the male lead more sensitive to his own emotions and feelings as well.

There's just one case that well built. The one serial case has a deeper truth hiding behind it. The leads at first didn't trust each other, and even one of them might be the suspect. As we continue, the drama will reveal the truth with good storytelling.

Is it dark? Not as dark as Beyond Evil, but it is.
Is it makes us use our detective brain? Totally.
The difference of Stranger is there are prosecutors related.
Still, it's worth watching tho.

Both are thriller/suspense dramas in a criminal/detective setting. They both are looking for a murderer as well as there is the female and male pair in both dramas.
The male leads have different character however; in 'voice' the male lead tends to be impulsive and reckless while in 'stranger' the male lead is phlegmatic and logical at all times.
In 'voice' there is a supernatural element as the female lead has special hearing abilities.

Doctor Prisoner was a great drama that kept me on my toes with an entertaining ML. Stranger may not have as entertaining a male lead as Doctor Prisoner because... you'll see in the first episode, but that does not mean that the ML did not have some great acting.
The stories for both are intriguing and deal with crime and corruption.
They are both really highly rated on my list.
The interplay between the good and bad guys is always tense and that is why I highly recommend this.

They both have a group of people trying to cover up a crime that had taken place.
The plot of the crime for both dramas are detailed & make you really consider who the culprit really is.

Both are directed by "Ahn Gil Ho" and have similar plot progression. Both dramas revolves around disturbed characters, who then work as a team to uncover the corruption by higher ups.

I think Confession is as good as Stranger. It receives around a Lawyer and a detective where both of the are trying to find out truth about the Lawyers father imprisonment. It’s similar in corruption/detective aspect and the Lawyer character stands his ground just like the prosecutor in Stranger. And no annoying by characters and the story is very well written. I didn’t see any plot holes. Also, each episode kept me on the edge of my seat.

Both dramas have law and politics as main plot. Defendant is more drama because the case itself involved the prosecutor life; in Stranger, the prosecutor's family is not involved on the case, his life is not the main plot.
Both have a reliable and strong female lead. In Defendant is the lawyer and in Stranger is the Lieutenant.

These two have a lot in common: prosecutor/detective dramas w/ similar pacing, depth of plot, mystery, etc. One of the notable differences is that Stranger is about finding and catching the killer, while Defendant makes fairly clear who the villain is from early on (and thus can take time to develop a compelling villain character), but they have the same air of ruthless mystery and compelling characters that will make you want to binge the whole series in 2 days.

Not only do the shows have similar casts and the same writer, but the structure and quality of the shows are very similar. They're both massively exciting and explore disabilities and mental illness in a nuanced, emotional way. I adore both shows and I think if you enjoyed one, you will absolutely enjoy the other.

Stranger 2 is the sequel to Stranger.
People might prefer to watch Stranger first before watching Stranger 2 as it is a continuation of the same story with the same characters.

Might I suggest that a requirement of 100 characters for something like this is really too much, I mean what am I supposed to write? Stranger 2 is the sequel to Stranger I think this is abundantly self-explanatory.

Both main male character's lack something because of an event in their childhood.
In Stranger the main guy lacks emotions due to a brain surgery during childhood.
While in Dr. Frost the main guy has trouble sympathizing with other's due to an injury to his frontal lobe as a child.

Both dramas have the main male lead lacking in emotion and using it to better themselves in their jobs (ABM=Medical, S=crime)

Both revolve around a mystery murder case and both are full of suspense and thriller from first episode to end. Got same feeling while watching both dramas.
