The story follows our heroine who after losing her mother, is in the custody of a rich family (the male lead's family). She's then allowed to attend a high school with prestige with him. There, people call him Master Devil, he'll always make her pass for difficult moments. ~ Based on the novel of the same name written by Jin Xia Mo.

Do K-Dramas Shun Sisterhood?
A character that seems to be constant in most Asian dramas is the female protagonist's female best friend, but why does it seem like K-dramas feel it's unnecessary for their female leads to have this side kick?

A very easily enjoyable, light-hearted show with classic romance-comedy tropes that ended up unconsciously becoming addictive to watch and hard to stop (especially at the end of Season 1...) (*trying my best to be objective in this review*)

While Master Devil uses many familiar romcom tropes reminiscent of Itazura na Kiss and Hana Yori Dango (amongst others), the show stands out well in being a GOOD well-written romcom WITHOUT all the unnecessary read more angst, frustration over stupid/extreme characters or developments, and exaggerated/pointless drama.

The plot is well-balanced and well-written in being reasonable in its developments, while staying true to the classic tropes of romcoms. There is not only a good balance of romantic development between the leads, but also ample time given for the female lead Chu Xia to independently develop her own story arcs and interactions with other characters without the male lead.

The plot is written in a more realistic way for instance, such that it is NOT a girl-against-the-whole-world trope like the desperation felt in Hana Yori Dango. Similarly, the characters are also written quite distinctively and developed in a reasonable way. Contrary to the title, male lead Qi Lu really isn't an ass at all, even if he may be unfriendly. Many of the supporting characters are really nice, and even the antagonists themselves aren't completely irrational or hateful in their behaviour.

Admittedly still, there is still about ~10% of plot development that doesn't quite make a lot of sense and requires suspension of disbelief, e.g. the first episode lol. (But all will be well once you get over that bridge.) However, I feel like the amazingly funny/cute character interactions would completely make up for this~ (especially interactions with the male lead ;))

It was really a breeze completing this show, helped by its short 20-minute episode length and addictive previews. Forgiving the laughable CG (from the first ep) and not-that-great OST due to its lower web-cdrama budget, the young actors and plot still held the show up well and hit all the right notes for me in delivering almost everything I'd have wanted to see in a classic romcom, without the frustration.

That being said, it's EXTREMELY important to leave a disclaimer that these 23 episodes is NOT a completed story and will be directly continued in the upcoming Season 2 (which I'm still dying in anticipation for). Hence, with the HUGE POTENTIAL for romantic development being left in the air for Season 2 to pick up from, I have been left in a state of withdrawal, which also makes for the high rewatch value of the show, simply from being classic, light and cute.

Honestly if you are looking for some light fluff then this is the series for you. The story isn't terribly complex but it does have some interesting bits to stick around for. Although it has some cliches, it surprisingly strays away from some of the major ones. If you can get past the first two episodes which were a bit cringy then you are sure to stick around. This series is ongoing read more and it's relatively easy to bingewatch.

In both the girl got her house destroy and end up living with the boy, the boy is quite mean with her but the mother want them to be a couple and try to put them together. They go to the same school. They are love triangle. The boy show interest and went bak...
The difference is the girl in kiss me is stupid and love the boy from the beginning, in Master Devil she is intelligent and does not like the boy at the beginning.

The Mom's in these are very similar. Both seem way to excited about getting their son together with a girl that most rich drama mom's would be trying to pay to stay away. Has some similarly corny characters and overacting. Her childhood friend, who is always around to have her back, is very similar to the second lead. there is also kind of a class A class B rivalry. The only real difference is that the leading lady, in Master Devil Do Not Kiss Me, is not head over heels for the leading man. It also appears to me that he likes her first..
Both are fluffy, fun, and adorable.

Usually I would find this kind of humour so cringy and cheesy but for some reason I find it so funny here! I love this show, it makes me laugh so much!

Although I'm not sure what was written at the back, but from what I know of tradition, during a funeral you usually have to wear white (well Chinese (maybe even Asian from what I've experienced), so a white shirt which I presume has writing referring to a passing aha?

This is a play on words. On the shirt she gave him for his birthday, she sewed the character “shou” on its back. By itself, it means “long life," and is something you would wish a person on their birthday. When you put it together with the character for “shirt" (which is "yi"), though, “shou yi” means a shroud (grave clothes),

Oh my gosh, literally every episode is sooooo cheesy and cliché. I don't think I mind it that much, though.

I saw this subbed on youtube I was a bit lost when it came to humor of it reminded me of a cartoon. The poster is very misleading because it looks like cute yet romantic show but I didn't get that vibe watching the first episode had to dropped it.

a bit too childish for my doing but still enjoyable if you're bored; there's certainly better stuff out there with less cliche's and characters who act like they're five years old. If you have more options, you don't need to watch this.

Disappointed this drama isn't subbed yet. I will wait for more releases before watching because I don't want to die from suspense. =/
