Have you ever watched a drama, not expecting anything and not knowing anything about but it turns out to be the most amazing thing that ever happened to you?

Am I exaggerating? Sure. However, this drama surely exceeded my expectations! What a refreshing drama! Action, Comedy, Crime, Investigation, Amazing female lead... It's a great package! This drama became something I looked forward to every week.

The acting.. Seol Ok and Wan Seung's read more chemistry was over the top! It'snot even romantic! I love how they argue, their personalities and roles collide, the (flirty) banter! They're my parents and I love them so much no one can stop me. Supporting characters are amazing! They definitely make the drama colorful and flavorful. I love Seol Ok's smart, witty and brave yet clumsy at the same time.

There are cases that were dragged a little too long... Especially in the first episodes, I honestly didn't mind since I was enjoying everything so much. However, there are certain I wished they went more in depth.

I am seriously expecting a season two. I'm not hoping, I am expecting. Divorce must be done(Ok, I'm hoping this)....Overall, a fun drama! It's stress relieving. If you like comedy and crime or a fun drama in general, give this drama a try!

Queen of Mystery (Mystery Queen) is a mixed genre Korean drama with slice of life/mystery/thriller/comedic elements that overall I found to be a satisfying though sometimes uneven drama. If you want something a little different and romance isn't a must, give it a go.

But first the Cons:

Pacing: After one of the most satisfying first episodes, I found the next two to be in okay territory. This ends up kind of read more being a cycle with some very enjoyable episodes followed by satisfactory episodes. I did do some skipping here and there but it was limited. Also, one particular mystery in the first half of the drama goes on too long.

Too Much: This drama has solid actors but too many of them and a solid story to tell but they glutted it with more more more. I actually wished the drama had focused less on Inspector Woo, the chaebol characters and really would have been ok never meeting Seol Ok's husband. This is nothing against any of the actors but, rather, the lead actors and the neighborhood crew were so good, it didn't need all those other characters and story lines.

Suspending Reality: Various times there are things left hanging or one particular instance in particular where the audience has to suspend all sense of reality. I will leave it there to avoid spoiler territory but it involves the sister-in-law. Also, like many k-dramas there are some coincidental connections that are just too much to believe but again, this is kind of standard.

The Pros:

Actors: They are all great and a shout out to the leads. I am not as familiar with the actor's dramas, but he has the charisma and timing to pull off comedy without a problem. It actually took me several episodes to realize that the actress was the same one from Heart to Heart. She is lovely. All the co-stars are great as well, and the drama has one of the best, most honest representations of a mother-in-law. I loved that the actress is the same that plays the opposite type in Secret Garden, Heirs and Mask.

Direction Etc: Directions was quite good and music was solid though no OST songs really stuck with me.

Story: Flawed but overall enjoyable and quite honestly something different than a thriller or rom/com. The idea is nothing knew (Scarecrow & Mrs. King - a US show from the 80s - was a housewife and a spy), but I like seeing Korean dramas expand out into other avenues and it gets a little extra love from me for that.

As you can tell I really liked but didn't love this drama. I took a point off for pacing issues and a point off for the uneven story, plot holes and problematic ending. It still gets an 8 from me because this drama made me care about these characters and they grew as the drama went on in honest, realistic ways.

Complaint Other Viewers Have:

Now overall I didn't have issues with the ending because I knew going in everything was not going to be tied up with a red bow. However, there are some unhappy viewers regarding the ending. I felt that I knew where the characters were going so, at the end of the day, I was happy enough with that. At the same time, I understand why others were not. It has now come out that the production team is hoping for a Season 2 so they did this on purpose. Shame on them. I hope they get a second season because they could totally do a fun drama and close up some story lines, but I think the fans deserved better because second seasons are hard to come by in k-dramaland.

Both dramas, revolve around female protagonists having profiler background and male lead as an action hero. They solve the most unusual crimes together and have great rappo.

This was SOOOO good! I'm usually unhappy when the romance in drama isn't front and center and resolved by the end, but bc there will be a season 2 I'm all for this ending & actually looking forward to solving the mysteries that were left unsolved. Perfect balance of drama & comedy, bromance/romance/friendship, and ALL the feels! Needs to be ranked higher ;-)

Awesome! For myself, this is a drama worth watching more than once...I was never bored. Interesting & quirky characters, with the chemistry being amazing among the main characters and their side kicks. The blend of reality regarding the cases and the humor in the show indicates the great directing of the production crew. As mentioned before, the show has a Sherlock Holmes aspect, which I love.
Of course, there are not enough episodes to complete the story line. So, it leaves you with wanting to see more ...and with a definite closure. I look forward to having every actor/actress come back for a 2nd season. Oh, and "Thank you!" to the subbers for their hard work!....

The story is quite refreshing and original - Ahjumma Seolok sounds like Sherlock is one of the quirkiest character I have ever come across; paired with the scarred slightly grandiose Detective Ha was brilliant! CKH and KSW had great chemistry- CKH made the role hers and KSW still as hot as ever . The supporting cast was awesome too (only person I dislike is the jerk i.e. Ahjumma' s hubby) I am quite sure they will have season 2

I thought it has humor, mystery and romance - plus the chemistry between KSW and CKH is superb. Even the supporting cast is funny.for me worth watching

Mystery Queen is an indie crime comedy which I almost didn't pick up back when it started airing and which ended up charming my socks off haha.My favorite character has to be the one brilliantly portrayed by Choi Kang Hee and that's because Seol Ok or else Ajumma is one of the quirkiest and most refreshing characters in dramaland.Sharp witted, charismatic, caring, feisty, brave, cheerful, stylish,an absolute darling.Next we have Kwon Sang Wo's character,Wan Seung.Devoted to his job and effective (having chosen that field for his very own personal reasons),cool and cheeky, but also scarred from his past, and at times grumpy and full of himself.The-human-relationship/partnership/friendship/bond that was developed between those two very different personalities as they happened to come together and work together was gold.Their brainstorming and team work when it came to solving cases, their bickering, the teasing, their funny and kind of flirty banter, the support and enlightment they provided each other, all that was a delightful and endearing thing to watch. Also, the squad that surrounded SO and WS,aka her best friend and his boss and his cutie of a colleague were such lovely characters. In my opinion, those characters and their interactions are this drama's strong suit. Now as for the plot. The individual cases were interesting, okay nothing that special there, and the "main case" was quite a let down in the sense that they would reveal bits and pieces to us throughout the drama, but they went and threw everything at us at the last minute, and then they basically left us hanging with an inconclusive ending and loose ends.I don't know whether they misplanned the whole thing, they lost track of the pacing and ran out of time in the end,or they did that on purpose having a potential second season in mind according to what I've heard?..Anyways,I get that the ending was dissatisfactory, but to be honest,it didn't bother me that much because-shall I call this wishful thinking?-one's imagination can work things out.

The ending of this drama is so frustrating! I seriously hope that there is gonna be a second season, because this is not what I expected from it (especially from the ending with a huuuge cliffhanger). It started so good. I really thought it was a good drama, but I got the intention they didnt know what to do with the plot.

All in all the drama is very smartly written and exciting and the actors chemistry is on point.
Ill change the rating if a season 2 happens but even so.
    Good points
    -plot is sold and original
    -leads are really good actors
-ahjumma sherlockholmes is so much fun
    -minor bromance (youngxold cop)
-female lead extremely smart and brave.
    -male lead hot as hell
    Bad points
-the story had the best potential to be the best detective romcom mystery ever but failed to capitalize on the amazing plot. Its like they had all these great ideas but didnt know how to fit them in 16 hours.
-some characters disappeared from the drama.
-nothing is resolved. The ending is the begining.
Overall i highly recommend it IF THE SECOND SEASON IS CONFIRMED

I enjoyed watching this drama, it was exciting and I liked the combination of mystery and comedy. I loved the actors and their chemistry ! However I feel like the plot of this drama just turned in circle... You will understand me if you get to the ending. There were some slow moments in this drama but I overall liked it.
