Appearance is not everything.
That saying that ninety percent of female beauty comes out with soap and water is highlighted in this drama, a drama that speaks of a stereotype imposed by the judgment society that is the standard of beauty. If someone is not inside it is considered as being an ugly person ...
"Hito wa Mita Me ga 100%" consists of a narrative of character growth, accompanying the cruel change read more to achieve a whim of modern times. The story is good, follows a coherence has comical and dramatic moments.
The cast is great, not so much acting, the "locked" Japanese way loses a little of the emotional, that habitual robotic performance prevails more, that is a drama where reason speaks more than emotion, in the end the drama ends satisfactorily , At least I liked, because it has virtues, the protagonists themselves recognize that being beautiful is not everything.

Honestly, the story is quite good and the characters are well presented. Kiritani Mirei and Mizukawa Asami have performed their best performance. I really admire them from the past drama and movies.

Jun Jonochi (Mirei Kiritani) works at a paper manufacturing company. She is earnest, but clueless about her own appearance. She doesn't have any interest in making herself look good. One day, she realizes that people don't view her as other read more women. She begins to read up on things like make-up and fashion trends with her two female colleagues.

I really wanted to like this one, but for me it was just OK. What made this hard for me was that Jun is a scientist, but they didn't even give her confidence in that aspect of life, she had absolutely no self worth at the beginning. It wasn't until she "found a man", that she began to believe in herself. On top of that Jun is stunningly pretty, you can't make me believe that Keiochi was the first Japanese man realize that... I think it could have been much funnier.

I originally didn't plan on watching this but I saw that it was being subbed and I wanted to watch more currently airing J-drama. This drama turned out to be such a nice surprise because it got better and better with each episode and I looked forward to this show every week. Don't let the description of the show fool, there is a lot more to this drama than what the description tells you.

does the boss character's get more nuanced/likable later, like her counterpart from Atelier did? Or will the show focus only on the hairdresser guy from now on? I'm somewhere in the middle and slowly losing interest. But now I spoiled myself there's a twist, maybe I give it a try.

Well the boss character doesn't appear that much in the drama, so the drama does focus more on the hairdresser rather than the boss. However, she does get a bit more likeable near the end.

The best drama with Kiritani Mirei and Mizukawa Asami.
Love the concept of forensic investigation and science (chemistry etc.).

Guys, I need an opinion. As much as I like Kiritani Mirei, I think her acting's not that good to be honest. How was the first episode? I would like your opinion before I can watch it.

I think Kiritani Mirei is always doing the same character. Would be more interesting if she play a villain role, for example.
I like the first ep, but not too much. Its kinda of normal drama.

I have to agree. Her acting in Sumika Sumire seemed too forced to me. Couldn't make it through Suki na Hito.. Guess I'll wait for a few more episodes and reviews before I watch this. Thanks for the opinion btw :)

I disagree. Maybe you're seeing her in similar kind of dramas/movies only? That's my third drama of her (after Shinigami-kun and Underwear/Atelier) and everytime she played different characters and delivered them differently. Although the image she had in those dramas played a role too, her outfit and attitude in Shinigami-kun did half the job. But even when you compare her here and in Atelier, with a very similar synopis (a girl in need of a makeover in her new workplace), she's not that similar despite the common points. Here she's mousier, more socially awkward and one-dimensional (as a whole drama compared with Atelier).

Why is the rating so low? It's not that terrible as it may sound.
The concept is ridiculous, true. Seeing so-so man telling a woman she MUST do this or that or look specific way to be a full member of a society is straight repulsive. Cultural differences, I guess.
The heroine is yet another speciman of a mousy, self-concious girl fixated on not being like other girls. She repeats over and over how she couldn't connect with her famale classmates because all they were talking about were cute lipglosses and skirts, and she, poor soul, had to sit in the corner and play with the chemistry models. She doesn't believe in love, lacks social skills and any sense of aesthetics. Because figuring out a dress code and emulating current trends takes some serious research, doesn't it. When the lab she and her two equally clueless friends are working in gets purchased by a cosmetics company (together with some nanocelluse fiber to be used in the foundations), they need to make themselves presentable to match the company image. What they need is an attitude change and some confidence boost, not a carefully arranged scarf, but anyway. (And doing job they are paid for.)
The formula is as follows: faced with different and challenging social events like company parties, family weddings and so on three of them find themselves unfitting and decide to get an instant makeover using tips from glossy magazines and the Internet. They fail miserably. Some more socially-aware person comes to rescue and with a few master moves fixes everything, making them feel a little better about themselves. How embarrased would they be if someone catched them with the wrong type of earrings! Rinse and repeat.
With all that said, it's fun. Cringy and sad when you start to think about it, but fun nevertheless. Protagonists explore the intricacies of fullfilling the vision of an ideal woman and through a sequence of gags reach a conclusion, stating obvious things that still need to be said aloud from time to time (clutch bags ain't practical). /minor spoiler in 3,2,1! --->/ Mating rituals of the animals get mixed into the research, resulting in the heroine wearing dangling earrings, her hair pulled into a ponytail (all to attract males, she moves her head rytmically to accentuate the movement), wearing red shorts and dancing like a crane. You get the idea.

/forgot to add: they do need a hand, because prior to transferring to that company they were stuck in a vicious cirlce. No one paid attention to them, because they were too plain, but when they were trying to make an effort, it backfired and looked odd on them. So people were mocking them even more. Doomed if you do, damned if you don't situation.
Anyway, don't be discouraged with poor rating.
