I KNOW SOME OF YOU MIGHT NOT READ IT CUZ IT'S SO LONG BUT HEY GUESS WAT, IDK WHY PPL DON'T LIKE THIS DRAMA  THAT MUCH LIKE ME
STORY:  10/10
The main thing that i really liked about the drama was the story and plot. Although, most people seemed to be confused and frustrated about it, I really enjoyed it and found it really thrilling and addicting because they always have BongPil travel through a different time through each episode (except for the last few eps). I really liked how one day he was a thug and the next day he was a high schooler or even-actually, I shouldn't put big spoilers , just in case hehe. Also, each time he travels though time, each episode, something new happens so we can never guess what will actually happen! I really luv how it toooo unpredictable!!

ACTING/CAST:  7.5/10
Okay, first thing, it's my first drama seeing Kim JaeJoong act and it was a blast! Idk how he acted b4 but I know I cried when he cried because of Soojin (in the last few eps). He's also reeaaalllll good-looking and cute^^ hehe Before, watching this, I wasn't a fan of TVXQ but after watching this......I think I'm a fan hehe( and i loved Pil's personality-it was entertaining to watch hiim). UEE's acting was okay but  Jinsook's acting was a bit awkward for me....but when I saw her cry....I wanted to cry as well haha.  Also, THEIR SQUADDDDD ARE FRIENDSHIP GOALSSSS lol

MUSIC:  5/10
umm.... the ost/music didn't really amuse me except for the sweet, happy song that played whenever pil and soojin were on a date or happily together :D

REWATCH VALUE:  9/10
I think I'll watch it again because of how thrilling it was. BUT only if I had time bc of how many good dramas there are these days e,g While you were Sleeping. I still think I'll watch it again but what I want most of all (  i don't think you guys would want it),.....is......A SECOND SEASON!!!!

Part from the title, that is actually kind of odd, the main concept of this drama is interesting and entertaining. The first episodes, however, are a bit of a letdown. The going back in time through an alien manhole wasn't executed well enough and it ended up being a bit idiotic. Plus, the story hadn't developed yet and frankly everything seemed confusing and tiring. The drama picked up after episode five or so. The story tangled up and got messy, but at least there was some progress and the main character had some development, as well as his understanding for his friends and his relationship with them. The side stories took the lead at some point, which wasn't that bad as they were interesting and entertaining. However, in the end they weren't concluded well enough as the main romance did. Now, the love story was good and the chemistry between the actors was there sometimes. In addition, the performances were really good, and they helped a lot with the progress of the story.

Reason I started watching this drama : UEE. I’ve been following her dramas since Hokgu Love, though honestly her latest to drama are disappointing (this and Night light)
Reason I continuing this drama : Jaejoong. I’ve watched a bit of him before in Triangle (tho I only watched 5 episodes). His acting is a bit exaggerated, but it’s forgiven by his cute handsome face. And guess what? I only knew now that he’s an idol. From JYJ.
So, let’s start to the real question that you guys must have been waiting for. Is Manhole worth watching? Nope. Unless you want to waste your 16 hours watching the face of Jaejoong. Tbh, the script is just ??????. After I finished watching the drama, I just realized how non-related the first 12 episodes are. Like they totally have no connection to the real problems. Jaejoong went back to square 1 on 13th episode. So if you really want to try watching this drama, I suggest you watch the 1st episode, then jump to 13th til the end. Trust me, you won’t miss much.

The casts are good. but why do they have to make UEE looks like a supporting character... Like she's just randomly pops up anytime.

The story although not great it was really intriguing. The characters are well built and the cast was well put. The plot was confusing and that's what i liked about it. The comedy was exceptional, especially the main character, when you see him (the actor) at first you think that he looks cool and all but when he goes into executing the role you see a whole new persona, he puts his all into perfecting his character and he managed it well and i think he was well chosen for the role cause sometimes he looks and acts dumb and some other times when the role requires it he acts cool and manly. For the other characters, in truth i didn't like the lead female at first (the first episode gives you the wrong impression of what that character's personality will be) but later on when you get to know her characteristics more you can't help but sympathize with her and i personally grew to like her more. The romance now, it's basically love triangles linked between the main characters (there are some short lasted occasions when they stray out of that circle but they mostly go around it) this kind of romance is really confusing to the watcher, that makes it harder for him (watcher) to identify with the character and to choose which one to support seeing that the writer made all this group of friends into protagonists so that you can't help but sympathize with all of them and that in itself makes it impossible to choose which one to support in his/her romance and that also makes you eager for the ending even you get a little bored in the early episodes you can't help but keep watching to know the ending and who will end up with whom and that helped the plot and with that keep the story alive.
If you want to relieve your stress and forget all your worries you should really watch this drama as it is entertaining and fun.

BEST SCI-FI RUINNED IN 2ND HALF

Manhole is one of the most amazing dramas one could come across initially.
The plot was so amazing, I was hooked from episode 1.
It starts slow in EP1 but by the time it ends, it's rocking.

Each episode involves a series of Sci-Fi
The fun, the confusion, the silliness.
You can't just get enough, but that's just for the first 11 episodes.

Beyond that, the writer went crazy, like they forgot how to write.
The writing went down the gutter, the surprise element no longer carried the charm.

Character development died a horrible death.
And we were left with a bunch of good-to-go soulless cliche' writing.
I'm so disappointed in the last 5 episodes of this drama that You shouldn't even bother to watch them beyond Episode 11.
Ughhh.

The acting was superb, each character played their role magnificently.
Overall, this drama is what could've been the best Sci-Fi K drama but unfortunately, it couldn't achieve it.

Manhole - Just finished this drama. I have mixed feelings if its good or not. Some parts good, then some parts funny. It just felt frustrating that all 15 eps were dedicated on running after the female lead. I guess that's the plot. Maybe the only compensation is it ended well. Just my opinion, i don't recommend it.

Entertaining Enough if you like time travel stories.

Overall I enjoyed watching this drama.
Cons: I didn't like ML inability to confess his feelings for the FL. This got old and while watching I kept wondering if that is going to be the dilemma till the end. But thankfully somewhere in the middle of the drama, that issue was resolved and we were able to move on with the story. Also, I didn't like the "high" school romance feeling of this drama, but with each episodes that feeling went away.

Pros: I liked the time travel twist, although using a manhole as the means of time travel in my opinion was a bit silly. Still, the twist at the end tied the concept of "winning his bride over", in my opinion, was clever.

If one get over the silly parts of this drama, I recommend this drama for its a little unusual plot. However, I will warn any future watchers that this drama does follow Kdrama formula i.e. Boy & girl meet... between episodes 6-8 confesses, episodes 13-15 breakup. Episodes: They love each other and rest is history.

Honestly this drama is fantastic, i have no idea why this drama is worst than other dramas that have high ratings above 8 but still does not entice me. Yes some people may feel that this drama is childish and messy, but hey, for me it was a great journey through the 16 episodes. This drama brought me through many emotions, many heartbreaks and mad moments why this and that happened. However, as long as a drama can touch your heart means you are resonating with it, well that was the case with me, and i really enjoyed it.

And come on, the leads are my favorites, UEE from FOOL'S LOVE and a guy that i thought was Ji Chang Wook(LOL)?

Honestly, give it a try. I enjoyed it, maybe you would too.

Manhole: Strong Start, Weak Continuation

The series starts off quite impressively, but as it progresses, the pace slows down and the story becomes monotonous. Instead of constantly repeating elements, it would have been better if a more intense and shorter storytelling approach was chosen. Perhaps 12 episodes instead of 16 would have made the story more fluid and impactful. Overall, I give the series a score of 5/10.

Note: I noticed a minor inconsistency related to the timeline of the series. The second episode of the series is set in June 2007, however, the song "Tell Me" by the group Wonder Girls that plays at the 32nd minute in the cafe was actually released in September 2007. I believe this detail might have been overlooked by the producers.

Manhole

Just finished the Manhole show, and I've got to say, it's quite the ride. Initially, it had me hooked, especially when the protagonist was living as a gangster or back in high school. Those parts were thrilling and entertaining. However, as the show progressed, it started feeling a bit too long.

Around episode 11, it shifted focus to Su Jin, which I found less engaging. The time-travel concept, which was intriguing at first, started to feel poorly executed with noticeable plot holes. It seemed like the writer struggled to maintain coherence, evident in the absence of time travel in some episodes.

Additionally, the later episodes felt dumbed down, especially in character development. The portrayal of the love rival as blatantly bad seemed forced and simplistic. Overall, while the show had a strong start, it faltered in its continuation, leaving much to be desired in terms of storytelling and character depth.

Underrated Drama!!

This drama is criminally underrated. I don't about others but I liked the story. Travelling through a manhole and in each timeline the characters lives, it was really a good plot for me. I mean I haven't seen any other dramas with similar concept. Yeah time travelling?yes, there's many. But this is something else I've to say. And I've re-watched it 1-2 times as well and I never got bored. Jaejoong and Uee did really good acting . And I also loved that they didn't just break up the supposed to be couple without any reason just to make the actual main couple. They showed why the ex wasn't a good man, his possessiveness and moreover bro was literally a murderer, lol. Overall I liked it. I know everyone's taste is different and some may find it boring or not their cup of tea. But if anyone's thinking whether to go for it or not. I would say yes .

A Man In The Hole

Not the first drama with time travel to chase a lost love and not the best either. The first few episodes introduced us to the concept and up to episode 3 it seemed promising. The first time travel was to the past and the second one returned to the present to see the consequences of his actions. He did something minute in the past but resulted in him turning into a gangster once returned. The drama hinted into creating these radical scenarios for every round trip which sounded like fun. Unfortunately, this was a one off thing and the subsequent events were utterly disappointing. The entire plot device of this manhole was handled poorly. There were obvious coherency problems and plot holes, pun intended. I think the writer realized this problem which is why he didn't include any traveling between episodes 11-15. Speaking of which, these episodes got significantly dumbed down and became soulless and out of touch. They made the love rival blatantly bad and psycho to open the way for the main lead to have a clear black and white cut, avoiding any moral ambiguity the viewers might run across. That was the only way for the writer to glue them together without performing mental gymnastics. There were other remarks to be said about characters' reasoning, underlying theme, chemistry, side characters, story structure, and romance, but maybe on a later time.
