The Jade Pendant (2017)

Always love to be the first one to write review, especially if it is a good movie.

Currently there are “Black Life Matter” movement everywhere. My friend and I read the articles about “Chinese Massacre” and “Irish Slavery” it is so sad. Then I randomly found this movie. I have never seen both of the main leads before, but now I know. I have known of many Chinese originally came to America to work on railroad. Many decided to stay, many were killed, many got kick out of the town that against their color, sad history.

I was intrigue by the background of both main lead. Clara Lee born in South Korea, grew up in Switzerland. Gregorry Gao born in Taiwan, grew up in Canada. I have been to the town he attended college and his mother came from the town I was born. Both main leads can speak multiple languages. Really amazing.

I did not give 10/10 for this movie because I thought some of the acting are not very real. The main male leads being Chinese was taller then the white American. The last scene, the violence people just stood there let those Chinese walk away?

Nevertheless, watch this movie. It us on Amazon Prime and Tubi TV app now.

Lastly- RIP Goffery Gao. You will be miss. Such prominent young man.
