I think this movie will represent a truly realistic vision into the life of a family dealing with autism. Here is a Mother who works tirelessly to give her son a purpose in life. I read somewhere that people wondered if Cho-Won’s mother’s insistence in her son running in a marathon was more for her sake or for his. At one time in the movie, she questions whether or not she is pushing him into it for selfish reasons.

However, at the beginning of the movie, Cho Won’s mother made a statement where she wanted him to have self worth. I think in her pursuit of this, she kind of lost her purpose and doubted her reasons. Me, personally, I applaud her for doing it.

The acting by the leads, Kim Mi Sook and Cho Seung Woo was outstanding. The attention to detail that not only Mi Sook focused on as the mother but Seung Woo as an autistic man was definitely believable.

No stone was left unturned; from Cho Won’s treatment by so-called normal people to the jealousy his brother had because of all the attention his brother got. I was glad they didn’t leave that out. I believe the actors spent a lot of time researching the subject as well as talking to the real life Mother and Son. Yes, this is a true story that reflects the life and accomplishments of not only the mother but the son, in his pursuit to run!

A great real-life story!!

This movie is a bit of a mixture of indie and mainstream in terms of storytelling and filming style. But while the story is very good, and the acting is superb, the movie didn't really hit me like I feel it should have. I don't think that's the fault of the actors or writers or filmographers. I think it just doesn't do it for me. I would definitely suggest people give this movie a chance though, because it has a very good story to tell.

This is an understed movie. Have been wanting to watch this movie for a while but couldn’t find the right source to watch it. Finally My heart is happy. Such an amazing true story. My first time watching Ju Seung Woo acting, have heard about his amazing acting, love his sweet voice, subtle facial expression, finger movement, eyes looking. I am pretty sure he won best acting award, if not I would be so disappointed.

Talking about mother’s love. Many autism parents give up on their autism child, didn’t treat them As humanly. People tense to bully autism kids. Society didn’t treat them respectfully. As far as I know, autism kids can be heartheaded. As soon as they set their goal, with proper guidance, with their unbelievably memory, they can excel.

I almost had some tears in my eyes at the end. The OST is partly causing it. The mother struggling, uncertain what is best for the child, naturally wanting to protect the child but the child had his mind set.

A must watch movie.

A Touching Race Towards Triumph (With Enough Tissues for the Finish Line)

Dude, I wasn't expecting to cry so much at a movie about running. "Marathon" isn't just about some guy pounding the pavement for 26 miles (though props to him, that's crazy). It's about a mom who won't give up on her autistic son, and a son who finds his voice through the rhythm of his feet.

Kim Mi-sook as the mom? She's a powerhouse. Seriously, you can practically feel her love and determination radiating off the screen. She's like a lioness protecting her cub, pushing Cho-won to keep going even when it seems impossible. And Jae-hyun Cho as Cho-won? Talk about nailing the subtleties of autism. He captured all the anxiety, the quirks, the bursts of joy, and made me want to give him a giant hug (not in a creepy way, promise!).

The film might not be a breakneck thrill ride, but it's a slow burn that gets you right in the feels. Sure, the plot wasn't exactly a mind-bender. You kind of know where it's going. But honestly, who cares? The journey is so well-told, the characters so endearing, that you just get swept up in their story. You root for Cho-won, you celebrate his victories, and you empathize with his struggles.

P.S. Don't worry, there's enough running footage to satisfy any sports fan. And the music? Goosebumps-inducing good. So yeah, go watch "Marathon" already! You won't regret it.
