The Big Boss (2017)

I enjoyed “The Big Boss“ fully. I was on YouTube and found it by chance and i was soo happy. Let‘s begin the Review: (And I‘m sorry, if there are any grammer or vocab mistakes... english is not my first language)

I liked the story, it was very entertaining...wait „like“ is a understatement...I LOVED IT. I loved the chemistry between the chracters. I loved it, how they could solve any problem and got new friends. Let‘s talk about my „they“ in the last sentence. The whole cast was amazing. Ye MuXi, the female lead, monitor of the class, my favourite chinese female actor and a very cheerful and joyful (i think both adjektive mean the same but who cares?). And then there is Liao Dan Yi, the male lead, intelligent guy and the opposite of Ye MuXi. And then there is the whole squad, where everyone of them is uniq.

There is just one point in this show, which I didn‘t understand and like. Whenever there was a singing scene, the singing got dubbed. I was a bit stupid, but can live with it.

In summary, I really enjoyed it and recomend it to all who want to watch a comedy school-life drama with fantasy and much much more.

Phew! in the first episodes don't blink or you'll miss this, and I thought I was volatile. Story of fight between leads set among lots of crazy action. Hope it is not another love story as they promise - but love/hate?. Lee Eleanor very funny. Huang Jun Jie looks great - very prissy character played well. Recommended by Hmmsy, thank you. 10/10 entertainment value so far. Love every character in this. For me not so good in later episodes, the turn to fantasy, full on in ep. 16, was interesting to start but dragged on and did not really work for me, so I have to deduct a point because it became a struggle to watch all the clever-clever fantasy. I preferred the school setting. The music is good but takes up too much time. I find Chinese dramas are hit and miss but this was very accomplished and well produced.

Honestly, i skipped through season 2 of this show and watched the main parts of S1. I watched season 1 thinking that there would be blooming romance but then i realised that there were nearly no romantic scenes, (even if this show has the romantic tag). Then i watch S2 as people said there is a bit more romance, even though you can feel the story develop a bit more, there is hardly any story until the last couple of episodes (mainly last 2). I find the cast great, story like funny but i wanted a bit more chemistry. There are too many extra episodes... Take the warning in S1E1 seriously!!!  I hope that in S3 the couple finally dates or at least has a flirty relatioship (like getting jealous). Anyways, this is a good drama for comedy and friendship but I wouldn't suggest it if you like romance (even though the cast has great visuals and together would make a great romantic drama :(   ) The acting and all is also fine, not top class as this isn't a serious/high production show but it matches the theme.

Very very entertaining! If you are looking for something fun to watch, this it it! It contains friendships, slight romance (more like teasing the viewers with potential romances), family themes and just overall is a funny, creative, cute drama. I loved all the actors and felt they were perfect for this drama! The characters are the best part however, they're all written in such a unique, special way and after you finish this drama, you're guaranteed to miss them.

I myself am a huge romance fan and hence I was more or less disappointed DESPITE ALL THE WARNINGS GIVEN because I really really ship the main leads. But nonetheless, even a romance obsessed idiot like me could appreciate and was hooked to this drama and enjoyed it despite that factor.

The most important thing in this drama is friendship and it's very clear throughout the entire drama, I think everyone will enjoy watching it. Just don't expect or hold on to the romance factor too much and you'll see what a cute drama it is!

It has a lot of childish effects and I honestly found them so refreshing and loveable, given the ages of the characters I think this was suited and just overall, CUTE CUTE CUTE

Very fun and entertaining

This is my favourite C-Drama that I have seen so far, it's fairly immature and not for all audiences. If you're looking for a romance drama, this one is probably not for you, however, I believe it is still worth watching. The characters are very cute, it's a light watch and the ending for the second season made me fairly emotional. The music is also very nice, I listen to the soundtrack whenever I'm feeling bored. This show mainly focuses on romance and comedy. This show is very innocent and the female lead/main character is a very fun character. She is dramatic and she has a wild imagination which makes the show more interesting and includes a lot of variety.

Final thoughts (TLDR;):
- Not romance centred
- Good for all audiences (however, it feels like it might be more for younger audiences)
- Very cute
- Fun main character
- Slice of Life/light watch
- Worth watching!!

I found The Big Boss at the perfect time while procrastinating on studying for my finals. It’s such an easy watch, a lighthearted youth comedy that’s dramatic without the drama. I was laughing from the very beginning until the end. Ye Mu Xi is such an endearing character; she really was a great center for the series while still giving other characters a chance to shine.

The premise was very simple and revolved around Ye Mu Xi and Liao Dan Yi’s rivalry as they collected friends for their student committee. Each episode had its own story that flowed into the next. It’s a youth drama, so it’s really about watching the characters enjoy their adolescence. You’re not going to get a big climax where protagonist battles antagonist.

The actors are still very young and just beginning their careers. To lead a small series like this, they did quite well. Eleanor Lee especially brought Mu Xi to life with her comedic expressions. Huang Jun Jie had a tougher job of playing a cold Dan Yi without making him stiff. Fortunately he got to play around with his character living in other people’s fantasies—p.s. the fantasies are a hilarious touch. I love the twists they take.

My favorite genre is romance, but they tell you from the beginning that this is not a love story. I actually really enjoyed the show with its lack thereof. You have to keep in mind that these characters are still very young and immature. I’m glad they didn’t try to push the romance.

Nevertheless, I’m crossing my fingers for more seasons where we watch our group of friends grow older and mature into that genre! (;

From the beginning, this drama has warned us that there wouldn't romance. Comedy only. I start this drama without any hope that this drama would be nice, first i just wanna watch this drama coz i need something 'easy to watch' BUT, wow, wah, this drama is sooooo fun. It made me addicted. The story is so 'easy to watch' but it's nice. AND I LOVE LEE ELEANOR SOOO MUCH. Her act is so amazing. And all of the cast is also amazing, even there's any cameo who act 'unatural'.

3 Reasons why you have to watch it :
1. If you search for 'easy-to-watch' drama but has nice story
2. If you search for youth drama which has comedy in it
3. If you search drama which has good-looking cast. Yeah, all of the cast in this drama is good-looking for me.

Not a romance!!!

Well to vegin with I was highly disappointed with the fact that thry was no chemistry between leads...evn though they had funny fighting scenes but somehow i never found them cute.
Caste was cool and the story was hoing very well but when i compare it with other C dramas who dealt with the high school drama this one is no good.
This isnt romantic ...this isnt funny for me too.
I almost skipped a whole epusode once...coz the time waste was so much the storyline was never linked with eacger other.
Its just the male actors in the story who kept me hooked otherwise i wud have dropped it.

school and friendship

●STORY
Story is simple ye mu xi is an upbeat girl who hates her childhood friend liao dan yi because he is perfect. As for him, he wants that ye mu xi can focus on her studies more but she has imaginative world and does so many things to be the class president.

●PLOT VIEW
Story was nice but the weird imaginative parts in every episode made the show kind of absurd for me because she was talking to some giant costume wearing characters which she created. The plot is focused mainly about school and friendship which is the best part. As most of the school drama now a days is focused more on romantic relationship, but in this leads go though obstacles of school life and building friendship.
I really liked episode 17 as its has a his historic part and every student were excellent. but some events in other episodes seems unrealistic. I sometimes skipped the parts which felt boring and repetitive.

●ACTING
Lee elenor was very energetic just as the plot requires the character to be. The body, the face and her running legs perfect.
Huang jin yi was amazing. His face had charm. But his acting needs more time.

●MUSIC
BGM and songs were nice. I love the opening song

●REWATCH
No doubt I enjoyed it but for a rewatch I wont think I would do it.
