I'm going to throw myself out on a limb here and say, YOU MUST ABSOLUTELY WATCH THIS DRAMA! There is no doubt in my mind that despite this Drama is currently ongoing, this is quite possibly the best Drama i have ever watched. I even watched the RAWS to just feed my obsessive love for this Drama and still they do not suffice, i I WANT MORE!

Park Shi read more Hoo's performance in this is absolutely stunning. Words cannot begin to formulate how well he plays his role. At first i watched it as i would a normal Drama...check out the first episode see how things go from there; and as soon as i watched the first 20 minutes...i was captivated. Some may say i am overreacting, that it is not as good as i make out. Well, it's a matter of opinion at the end of the day, and me being ESPECIALLY fond of historical Drama's, find this to be an extremely grand surprise.

Anyone who is considering on watching "The Princess' Man", what is there to consider about? GO NOW! Watch. Enjoy.

So...if I start this review by saying I'm giddy in love with Park Shi Hoo would you roll your eyes, call me a fangirl and stop reading? You would? Well, then I'm not going to say it! Hey! Stop hovering your mouse over that unhelpful button and keep reading! I've have lots more to say about this Amazing show.

This drama started out with a lot of comparisons to Romeo and Juliet. read more It does have the element of two people who fall in love in spite of their family's bitter rivalry. But where the two part company is that in Mr. Shakespeare's original work you don't really get very much back story about why the Capulet's hate the Montague's. You simply know they hate each other and that the love between Romeo and Juliet is forbidden. In The Princess' Man you get a big sweeping story and you know exactly what odds are stacked against these two. They should have called this... "The Princess' Man and Her Father's Single Minded Drive to Be the King!"

The Princess' Man is packed full of action and revenge, sword fighting and battles to the death! What I'm saying is...This drama isn't just for women or those looking for a well told love story. If you are a person who prefers action, you need to know there is a perfect balance of badassery as well as a lovely and sweeping romance.

The acting in this show is stellar. I can't think of a single character in a single moment that had me cringing or thinking they were wrong for their part. Park Shi Hoo is wonderful and forgetting what I said up there...He is actually wonderful in everything he does so I wasn't surprised. Moon Chae Won is luminous as Sae Ryung. She pulls in a great performance. I loved her character's bravery and steadfastness. The plot kept me guessing until the very end and I love that I was never bored watching this show!

There is a lot going on, plot wise, and it is told to us by a writer with real story telling ability. I say that because I was also kept interested by the side character's stories as well. They were an intrinsic part of the tale, perfect satellites to the main characters and plot. I wanted to know their fates as well as the main couple's.

Let me sum up why you should watch this show in one sentence. The Princess' Man has an extremely well done and balanced combination of incredible acting, writing, directing and amazing cinematography.

I felt the music was a perfect fit for feel of the drama. There was only one song piece that felt a little overplayed. This show was so well crafted otherwise, I feel like I'm nitpicking but the music is my one 9 vote in a sea of 10's. I will watch this Lovely Show again. I can't recommend this highly enough!

Both of these dramas feature a similar mix of poignant political (mostly historically accurate) intrigue, life and death situations, and a passionate romance at its core. Therefore they give of a similar feel.

Wish I had listened to the few reviewers who didn't think this came close to a masterpiece. Glad many people loved this sageuk, but after awhile it's not Romeo & Juliet, and turns into literal Much Ado About Nothing. It's basically people doing stupid things one after another that create pointless conflict. The idea could have been a great take on this part of history, but ended up feeling so shallow. So many better historical dramas than this!!

I already loved every moment of this drama as I was watching it but then I watched the ending and it really became absolutely perfect! So many great dramas let me down with a disappointing ending but this one.... ahhh what a flawless story from start to finish! Heart wrenching, poignant, moving, stunning and oh so romantic! If only ever historical drama was as good as this one!

    Highly recommend!!! But..

    [Minor spoiler]

I wish they'd made him more of an anti-hero for a bit longer than a few episodes. Those were my favourite moments! Anti-heroes and morally questionable characters = so much yes.

That was good but I've never seen so many chickens trying to fight a lion in my life. I definitely found myself shaking my head with the face palm more than a few times. Ah Kang was so damn cute!!!

    First half was good.
But second half was so boring. I skiped a lot. I should have dropped it.

I may be unable to go past ep 10 and maybe I'm cheering for Team Evil, but I'll give this show one thing; it's well written and suspenseful in this kind of way that knowledge is unevenly distributed: one person is always one step further, can see what others are doing in a broader perspective, has fuller view on their feelings and lowkey pity them (or plan his or hers next step). The one knowledgeable constantly changes. The viewer can easily forsee how the events unfold, but that anticipation is all the fun: you keep thinking 'I want to see his face when he realises this or that', 'if only she knew' etc. It's not surprising, but very satisfying to watch, in a bittersweet way.
Cliffhangers are always on point, never once failed to made me play another episode no matter how sleepy I were.

I'm so excited to write a review. Finally, I am done watching this greatest drama. I really love it's plot (the ending is superb, didn't expected that but turned out to be a good one), characters (especially the main leads) chemistry is undeniable, and ofcourse the OST. My friend recommend this to me and I'm so happy that I watched this. I'm not really into historical dramas because I always think that they're boring to watch tho I watched some but after watching this, my perspective changed. Historical dramas are the best dramas to watch. If you're reading this and thinking to watch this then I'm telling you, DO NOT HESITATE TO WATCH THIS. TWENTY-FOUR EPISODES ARE BEYOND WORTH IT.

I don't know if you consider this as a spoiler but this is one of my favorite line:

“To be able to live and die without any hesitation for one another…that is love.”- Seung Yoo

Looking forward to rewatch this. And hoping for their another dramas together.

If I could recommend only one k-drama out of all the k-dramas I've watched, it'd be The Princess' Man. It has all the elements you'll be looking for in a drama: incomparable chemistry, superb cinematography, high class acting performance, thrilling action scenes, forbidden romance, plot twists, and beautiful OSTs that will surely let remind you of this series after you're done watching it. I've watched this for the nth time and am still not over it. <3 <3 <3
