Boys over flowers is like the "must see" in k drama world. This is probably the most famous k drama ever, and the first k drama for a lot of people, and that's why we -somehow- love this drama although it isn't actually a good one.

The story is just a big WTF! to me, really... and it doesn't always make sense. But incredibly it is still a catchy story lol, this read more is what BOF is, it somehow hooks you up, but deep inside of you, you know that what you're watching is not good at all.

The acting is just BLEH! although I love Lee Min Ho and now is one of my favorite actors, in BOF he wasn't as good as he is now... it wasn't a terrible acting but it wasn't a good one either... Same for Koo Hye Sun, she's good at dramatic scenes and crying and suffering but she lacks emotion in other scenes like kisses or funny moments and etc...

F4: oh boy! the eyecandy in this story has a 10/10 these four Asian boys doing whatever they want with your feelings and looking hot while they're destroying your heart haha it's just asdfghjk...

And probably what makes this drama a "must see" and a famous one is Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong) BOF probably has the worst and saddest second lead syndrome ever! REALLY... even if you don't ship JanDi with JiHoo the drama still makes you feel terribly sad about JiHoo's life (a terrible and lonely one) omg! my heart still aches when I remember...

Despite of all that BOF is a very rewatchable story... if you want to cheer up, or cry like crazy or just remember or see hot Asian boys gathered in one drama, just go to BOF. :)

If I could some this drama up in one word it would be 'meh'. Boys before flowers isn't that special, it was kinda disapointing to be frank. Yes the actors were brilliant but the storyline lacked spark.

I'll start with the storyline, it was ok at the beginning and good through the middle but the end was an anti-climax and a half. The ammount of cliches in this show is annoying, I've read more seen it all before. I haven't seen any other adaptions of this show and since watching Boys Before Flowers I don't think I will. It was average at best.

However the actors in this show, particulary Lee Min Ho and Kim Hyun Joong were awesome. Each and every emotion was potrayed brilliantly and had this show a better storyline it would have easily got a ten. I liked the different styles of acting and personalities that each character brought, even the minor ones. Plus they're all nice eye candy.

The music in this show made it worth watching. I loved the soundtrack and plan to buy every song that I possibly can from it. A nice mix of classical and pop that fitted each mood. Very very good music in this show.

In the end I would reccomend watching it so long as your not one of those people who like to pick wholes in every detail. Its easy-going and makes for an enjoyable watch. But it's not life-changing or addictive. And you probably won't watch it again.

It has kinda he same plot with a poor girl and a rich guy falling for each other and the family coming in between the two of them. This drama is definitely much better that The Heirs since it's got a more concrete plot and less loopholes in the story.

The music i gong to keep you hooked and the story will make you smile and laugh and cry and sigh and get angry and just feel a lot of things.

It's a highly recommended series.
The unpopular girl at school grabs the attention of the popular boy at school.
Though different plots, its a similar look at how one is seem inferior in the relationship.

No, that it completely understandable. For me, it was one of my first dramas and at that time I considered it very unique, different from what I was used to. But even I was very annoyed by Geum Jan Di. :-P Now I know better.

So many of the problems with this drama are really just the problems with the manga. Everything is so over the top, and the Gu Jun Pyo character is such a douche, but that's all straight from the manga. The amnesia, the evil mum, all of that. So i find it hard to dislike this version because of what was in the source material.

It was one of my first dramas (probable second, you're beautiful being first) and looking back i can see that i kind of forced myself through it. while it was entertaining at the beginning, geum jan di became a whining boring lead until the end.

For some reason, i stoped watching this drama during episode 7. I dont know why..? Maybe i diddnt like the acting and cast. Maybe i only want to see Domyoji being played by MatsuJun. c': hana yori dango for ever. <3

Why did i stop?! WHY? I was bored today, so i watched this from where i stoped. And this is so good! :D I am going to watchthis till the end. :D <3

I still don't know why there's a lot of ANTI JUN PYO?
How can you hate Jun Pyo? The only thing he bullying
others, because he didn't know what's respect is. He
have been lonely since he was young. After loving
JanDi he willing to give up on everything for her.
That;s the perfect man you could never had in
    your life.

...flaw with JP comes already from manga and belongs to mangaka who didnt keep it balanced. Nasty JP grows too quick into nice and without any rethinking his past deeds. When in manga it is somehow slidable then in drama it pokes you into eye and feels somehow not right...and causes you not like character bc his past what makes his eforts now seem fake or halfhearted. MG and BoF scriptwriters tried solve this with more or less success but HYD...

I was really looking forward to this drama bc hyd was fantastic, i mean, the chemistry between domyouji and makino was so goood i cant even imagine the two leads not ending up with each other.. So i watched this... Im sorry but i hate the female leads acting... Dropped it. Honestly i was disappointed.. It didnt caught my attention as much ashyd

Me too, the lead actress acting. I hate it, too.

But it is more close how she should be, this female lead has more similar personality, looks to original aka manga. I admit she isnt cute but she fits into role better than jdramas female lead who ruined charaters core personality for me. It is adaption, not original story and bc of this it must keep core of original not redo charaters like jdrama did. I like J-version least bc of this (and poor acting), all other versions are way better. This is mine oppinion.

Did you guys see that people are trying to make an american version of Boys Before Flowers? There is a kickstarter for it, and apparently they don't want to change the script very much and want to use new actors to launch their careers. IDK, I've always been curious what an American version of a kdrama would be like.

Yeah it was a long shot, but i thought it was interesting that someone was trying to make it happen. An American remake would probably be terrible, but it would be interesting to see lol

This version was so beautiful with the scenes, clothing, everything... It was just amazing to look at. I hated the embarrassing moments but the sweet ones were lovely and they're what stayed in my mind... 9/10. I would have never picked up the drama if I didn't see a spoiler on TV... looking forward to that spoiler made me get past the cliched & extra-cringe-y parts. Ranking by enjoyment it would be 9/10
