Part melodrama, part comedy, this series takes its cues from the epic legend "The Romance of the Three Kingdoms," with its characters taking on names from the story. One night Yoo Bang enters a dark, mysterious villa with nothing but a flashlight, only to find an executive of the Chunha Medical Group, Ho Hae slouched in a chair, dead and Jin Ho Hae's niece, Yeo Chi hiding behind a curtain. At Ho read moreHae's funeral, Yoo Bang and Yeo Chi are suddenly taken into custody for his murder. We're taken three months into the past to reveal what led to this murder and exactly who was responsible. During this flashback we meet Choi Hang Woo, a director from Ho Hae's rival pharmaceutical company, who is undercover to steal the formula for their new drug and the Chief Researcher from Chunha Group, Cha Woo-Hee. The lives of these individuals will all be intertwined within these three months to reveal exactly just who murdered Ho Hae, and why.

This drama is full of exciting twists and dark humor. I was a little reluctant to start watching it, but I'm so freakin glad I did. I loved that the characters' personalities had a nice development as the drama progressed. My emotional tummy almost fully satiated--there were heart-wrenching moments where I was just bawling like a baby, fist-clenching moments where I yelled at the screen and let loose curses that would've made read more Yeo Chi proud, and painful-I-can't-breathe moments when I was guffawing so loud my neighbor came to check if I was mentally stable.

The acting is absolutely top-notch, the music is currently on infinite repeat in my apt, and I would watch this drama again.

I wished that there were more heart-pumping, squee/cringing moments--that kind that make you feel embarrassed and avert your eyes to give them privacy. But that's just me.

If you enjoy having a characters of the following variety:
love-to-hate, endearing, kick-ass, hilarious, hopelessly tragic, and one-you-watch-bc-you-fell-in-love-with-them-in-a-diff-drama/movie/etc

THEN THIS IS THE DRAMA FOR YOU!! ;D

It was a huge hit in Korea but it is one of the most ignored dramas here. Maybe it’s because there isn't any ‘EYE CANDY’ stars in it. It really is a pity that this show didn't get as much attention as other shows. After watching first few minutes I had idea that how great this show is going to be. This drama is honestly among one of the most creative and read more ‘One of a kind’ dramas I've seen so far. It exceeded my expectations and it’s definitely on my list of 10+ favorites!

This story is based on actual historical figures of China. The story is simple but its crafting is done by some skillful hand. It’s genius and witty story. The way story flows makes this story a masterpiece. You can’t tell its specific genre, It’s full of comedy, suspense, some action, romance and melodrama and it’s all about power. It’s unique in its own way and totally unpredictable. This is a serious tale about power struggle in corporate world. It is all about serious corporate battle but it has killer funny scenes that’ll make you laugh hard and you’ll shed tears by laughing and there is also balanced melodrama. And for romance fans there are sweet romantic scenes too.

Casting is brilliant. There aren't any flat or one-dimensional characters, all characters are dynamic. The relationship between four main characters is really interesting. It’s very unusual kind of relationship. Here you won’t find any female lead quivering in fear; female leads are hot-shot. And supporting characters and side characters are also great. You may find one or two characters bit stupid at first but it’s because of story and they’ll develop in strong characters later. It’s really hard to pick a favorite character, including supporting characters because I also loved all supporting characters including villains.

Other interesting thing is that every episode has something to learn…You’ll also learn many things from Korean sayings.
One of the best things about this drama is....ending of every episode!! Don’t miss them!!

Soundtrack is also very good and well matched with all situations. It’s catchy. And also dance in war background is extremely funny.

I definitely recommend this drama even if you don’t like corporate plot. If you are bit interested in comedy then you’ll like it because it’s "LOLIEST" drama till date. I changed my opinion for BEST OF 2012, now best of 2012 is HISTORY OF THE SALARYMAN!! DO NOT MISS IT!!

It's funny mixed with seriousness. Has a great story line and almost similar to Chief Kim. A humble man fighting for the rights of the unjust.

Both are comedy dramas that don't take themselves too seriously (and neither should the viewers!), but not without some genuinely touching moments.

No, sorry. Have you tried checking other MBC dramas from that year on asianwiki? That's probably a next in line.

This drama is too good, it had me rolling with laughter in every episode specially the ending scenes. Lee Bum Soo never disappoints.

It was hard to get over the over-the-top comedy (I'm not a fan) but I kept watching bc other people have rated it so highly. I'm glad I did. Think of the most melo of melodramatic scenes being interrupted with a hilarious moment that pokes fun at all the drama cliches we drama fans often roll our eyes at. That's the drama in a nut shell. It was weird at first, but I found myself rooting for some characters and couples and before I knew it I was too invested to stop watching. Honestly, if there were more "melos" like this with comedic elements so they weren't SO heavy (haha basically melos:-) I'd be more wiling to watch more of them.

Jung Gyu Woon is wasted in roles of cheating, soon-to-be ex-boyfriends these days.
