They both have similar endings.
High school story
Smart girl with badass rowdy boy.
Male chase female first. You might like it but the ending will kill you

Both movies span from high school to adulthood. Male lead who isn't good at his academics decides to buck up because of the female lead. Become unlikely friends and falls in love with each other. Ultimately the leads drift apart due to a quarrel and reunite bcos the female lead is getting married. Some mistakes are irreversible, some words said can never be taken back. Regret lingers heavily at the end of both movies.

Base on the Original Korean movie.
I think they'll have the same feels and message
About first love, wrong timings and letting go of that one special person in your heart...
But not the one for you.

Both are about about school, friendship and love. Both movies know how to pull at your heart

All of the Reply series and You Are the Apple of My Eye have that certain nostalgic factor; they're all beautiful, hilarious, clever, coming-of-age stories. You can't help but grow attached to the cast as you experience several moments with them--from their school years, to their first heart breaks, all the way up until they're finally adults and working their butts off. These stories both have a slight melancholic feel, precisely because of how eerily relatable and realistic the challenges they face seem to be.

I think if you enjoyed watching Reply 1988, you'll especially love You Are the Apple of My Eye and the similar message that it tries to convey. I think You Are the Apply of My Eye is just slightly more light-hearted and has a more crude humor

Both are dramas trying to depict the coming of age during high school. Young Style lacks depth and true comedic moments that come through in Apple of My Eye.

Both are coming of age movies that start and finish with the wedding of the female lead and then explain how male lead and female lead got entangled with eachother. Mostly focuses on the male lead and also his rowdy male friend group.

Both are about school life and romance in the 1990s.

Same nostalgic feel. Embodiment of young and pure love.

Feel good movie.

Coming of age movies about the relationship (mostly platonic, romantic tension, there are feelings) between an academic underachiever/rowdy male lead and a smart female lead who start to be involved with one another through school and also study and spend more time together. Both movies end with a time skip to the present.

- Leads fall in love in high school setting but have a falling out after high school ends
- My Best Summer also emphasizes the importance of friendship (but Apple of My Eye did it better)
- Youth is a very prominent theme in both these movies

Both movies show the story of a guys first love. Both movies give off that nostalgic feeling. I think Fleet of Time is a little more mature than You Are the Apple of My Eye, but the movie will still draw you in and and provoke your feelings. Definitely recommend giving it a shot!
