Ah one of my favorite dramas, that was also one of my first watched dramas. As you've read the summary you know this is about a dad who loses his job and so he stays home and takes care of the children while his wife works. It has a unique storyline, comedy, drama, and it's rather enjoyable to watch so I give the story a 10. I'm a big fan of Hiroshi Abe, so i might be a bit biased when it comes to the Cast/Acting but i really think they did a brilliant job, so for the Cast/Acting, i'm going to also give it a 10. The music was ok. As for rewatch value, i'm generally not a rewatcher, so this gets a 7 for rewatchability. Overall though it's a solid drama that everyone should watch.

the story of this drama is definitely not boring and not something that we see a lot. during the time it aired, i am pretty sure it was new for it's time. First of all, the fact that it is about someone who decided to become an "at home dad" because his wife had work and he was fired. All in all, he could not find a job so it was his last resort. by taking the role of the house-man though and making friends with his neighbor he matured into becoming a proper dad for his child.

the acting, needless to say , it was outstanding. all of the actors definitely did great in this seeing as most of them have had a lot of experience too. abe hiroshi was once again great and the friendship between the two male leads was truly amusing.

the music was okay for the drama, quite enjoyable and i think that rewatching wouldn't hurt. I think it would still remain funny.

There are dramas that you just KNOW that you are going to love them, and  this was one of them. Pre-2006 dramas are so heartwarming. This is the  story of an arrogant, chauvinistic man who one day is unemployed, his  wife gets a job and he becomes a "at-home-dad", which is, a  househusband. In episode 1 I was laughing already, I didn't know this  was going to be a comedy.

Abe Hiroshi was, no surprise, amazing as Yamamura-san. He reminded me a little bit of Kusano from "Kekkon Dekinai Otoko" in his expressions, always sarcastic and with replies full of  arrogance. Of course this is the kind of drama I love to watch, when  this kind of guy learns how to depend on others, how to be kinder, and  to value the "demeaning" job of being a househusband. And also when a  man, who used to take women for granted, realizes being one is hard.

He had a wonderful chemistry with his wife (Shinohara Ryoko),  his neighbor who is a dedicated househusband, and her daughter. I think  I was hesitant to watch this because of Shinohara Ryoko. I don't know  why but I don't like this woman ^_^ I have never watched any of her  works, so my dislike is irrational. Nevertheless, she was excellent as  the nice, hardworking wife.

But the chemistry I liked the most was between him and the little girl, Rie (Sakura Ando).  They have many funny scenes, but also many tender ones. The little girl  was excellent, there were many times where she was looking at his  father with so much love. Or so much pride. Sometimes she was also  looking at him a little sad. It was so nice.

The little  neighborhood was cozy and their house looked like a candy-house. More  like a cookie-house. Anyway, their ladies neighbors were too noisy for  my taste, specially the "leader", but well, they all had a good heart.

I  loved how Yamamura-san struggled with being a househusband, a task he  took for granted. All the mess he did were so funny (starting in Ep.  1... Abe Hiroshi is SOOOOO good in comedy). Seems like the clean their  houses every day O_O

Music was ok, there was one I liked the most  because it suited Abe Hiroshi.. laid-back, funny and a bit silly. Kinda  like, again, KDO.

Very well done light comedy with some deeper, even thought-provoking bits. Shinohara Ryoko is gorgeous as always, Abe Hiroshi's very good (anf funny as ever, of course), but two other actors actually steal the show here: Miyasako Hiroyuki is just great, and Ando Sakura (the lil' Rie) is so good! (actually, to act that well at 6...man....it's even scary, seriously! There are quite a few grown-up actresses, with many doramas in their CV, who could still learn a trick or two - or more! - from this child!)
