The plot is centered around the 10 year relationship between Yoon Seok Hyun and Joo Yeol Mae, who have been repeatedly breaking up and getting back together the entire duration of their relationship. Tired and looking for love elsewhere, Jung Yoo Mi turns her attention to Shin Ji Hoon and leaves Yoon Seok Hyun to look on with envy.

The back and forth comparison with this drama and its first version compelled me to record my own experience.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon for those who agreed the first one was better.

This one was trying to follow the same format and formula as the first one, injecting bits of mystery and melodrama in the storyline just to make it a little different but ended up incohesive and jarring.

Have a read more trio of girlfriends each with their own entirely unique personality, taste, and love lines - Check!

Present a broken long-term intimate relationship that had gone through an on-off even helter-skelter ride - Check!

Present a strong new love to rival the first - Check!

I think I will stop here before I ultimately enter spoiler territory.

But that gives you some of the format and formula I mentioned. The first problem I should mention is the transition. Okay, we've shown this and that, it's now the phase for realization and jealousy, so let's depict that in this episode. And BAM! Here's your jealousy rage... How about character development? I think that due to the new elements introduced in this series, it failed in managing to fit those smoothly in a 16 episodes format. While the characters are rushing through these emotional phases, I on the one hand am only just beginning to get into their involvement.

'Twas very tasking to keep in-synched with main characters' behavior, not until we reached the end with them.

There was very little I can appreciate in this drama. There was perhaps the music, the filler stories, the depiction of romance which were all at least at par with the first series. I would also agree with those who claimed that this had been casts with better male lead actors. These might all be enough for you to give this one a try or if you're just wanting to find your own comparison.

This is a light-hearted drama not meant to be taken seriously. Seeing as I have forgotten the plot of INR1 because I kinda just skipped through it, I'm just basing this review off of this drama, and this drama alone. I'm not comparing it to the first season. INR2 is an entirely separate from INR1 in this review.

Story: So the story is good in the beginning. It keeps you wondering and read more guessing, what is Seok Hyun's secret, who is she going to end up with. I thought the story wasn't predictable. Even in the end, I was still confused as to whom she loved more. But the bad part about this story is the logic. It doesn't really make sense when you think about it. The second to last episode, I was so confused as to what just happened. So I came to the conclusion that you have to watch this drama without thinking about the logic. That may be a turn-off for some people, but sometimes a no-brainer drama is what you need. But when I thought about the girls in this drama, I concluded that my gender is confusing and I did get an insight as to how men feel. However I kinda wished that Jae Kyung's story got some more light. I really liked her story line and I feel it could be a drama on its own. But other wise the story line is light-hearted and not meant for serious thoughts.

Acting: I thought the acting was good. It was believe most of the time, except when the girls were too emotional and dramatic. The lead male took the spotlight in acting. Honestly the only parts where I actually teared up a bit was during his parts. He managed to show the complex emotions of his character quite well.

Music: I loved the music. Seeing as how the main character is a music producer, it makes sense that the music is good as well.

Rewatch: I really don't want to sit through this drama again because usually the second time I watch a drama I end up thinking a lot more, and I know that I will end up getting a headache if I watch it again.

Overall: It gets an eight for keeping me entertained every week and for not being all that predictable. Plus there are some fine men in this drama. Fine men, who do go shirtless. Talk about something to look at :P Again if you watched INR1 you might think differently, but I am not going to consider INR1 at all. It was cute, sweet, and fluffy. I'm not a huge fan of melos or too much drama so this was a good drama for me to watch.

The are very simular. They both have a love triangle, and the male leads hide their love. I honestly see them as the korean/chinese version of eachother. Both have cute romantic moments and high tension, and the theme of falling in love with someone who knows you more than you know yourself.

Same scriptwriter. You can find, that there is same main actress in both dramas.

This drama was pleasant and interesting to watch. What I appreciated most in all the I Need Romance dramas is the fresh and realistic way in which relationships are portrayed which is not very common in Kdramas. It is obvious the writers were inspired by Sex and the City however they managed to make the story original and different in its own way and not just a copy of the American series. In the main love story here there is a lot of pushing and pulling which sometimes became a little tiring. Nevertheless it represented the perfect image of what can happen in real life. Lee Jin Wook's character is quite hateful for most of the drama, however his looks made up for it pretty well.

This...is Sex in the City. The 3 women and their personalities...it's the same thing. haha, took me 3 episodes before I realized the similarities.

Watched the second season first and honestly I liked both but the second season was better in my opinion. Because I liked the bestfriend-lover relationship.

in the end I hated both, they lack the Magic of Kdrama, the divine love and gwiyeoun moment

Do we need to watch the first season in order to watch this one? or is it different stories?

there are different stories :) this season has nothing to do with the first one, though they have kept the format: three girlfriends and their love life.
I, for one, would recommend the first season to watch first. For me it was like and emotional roller-coaster, maybe because I identified with some of their problems. I cried too haha.
But this one is interesting too and worth watching :)
