I had watched the anime of this story and then read the manga I do think you need the back history of this stroyline for all the bits in the movie to make sense. Honestly I wished this film were a drama do you had a bunch of episodes to go through. Film is very well done and the casting is good and it's one of those coming of age sort of read more tales.
Overall I think it's worth watching if your a fan of the comic or anime just knoe going into it a lot of the scenes from the anime are sort of left out in this due to the time frame.

It's a rather cute film though the lead guy in this sort of loses out to the anime version of this telling.

First of all I would like to point out that I have read the manga so I started watching this with high expectations. The movie was a total disaster for me and the only reason I completed it was because of my respect for the manga. I really didn't like the cast even though I have liked all the previous works of Takei Emi that I have seen. The acting was passable read more but really didn't strike me as something great. I even failed to understand why the movie had the kiddish sound effects at the beginning of the movie for the blinking of eyes but nothing later on. For me this movie lacked consistency and also the script failed to wow me. While watching this film there was no tingly feeling in my stomach or urge to smack both tsubaki(s) when they broke up and were not making up when they obviously should have. The beach scene was definitely one of my favourite in the manga and all the magic from the scene was sucked out from the movie. Overall I would say that I would have preferred not to have seen the movie so as to keep the manga pristine and untainted from the disaster created by the movie.

But I guess if you haven't read the manga then this would a good movie for passing time but I still would not recommend it. There are better options out there.

The lead actress is the same in both movies. Both characters she plays are very cute, nice natured girls.
Both are sweet romance movies. Both female leads discover themselves along the way.
Plot lines are different, but I think many may like both films.

Both plot lines are practically identical. I think of you liked
"Kyou, Koi Wo Hajimemasu" (Love For Beginners) you will like this one.
Both feature teenage girls who have low self esteem, are bullied for one reason or another and end up falling in love with the popular guy (in turn he likes her back in both stories which shocks others)
Both are incredibly sweet stories, and no doubt most people will like both if they liked one of the others previously.

.. I didn't like it. Just a banal love story. Dropped it at the end ^^"

I might be crazy, but I think Matsuzaka Tori looks like he could be the spawn of Sato Takeru and Daito Shunsuke. Lol.

Anywaaay... I thought this film was okay. The development of the protagonists and their relationship felt a bit rushed for me, especially in the first half of the film, and their connection felt forced as well (ugh, please stop doing that shoujo writers). The second half was kind of lackluster - I started zoning out a couple of times lol. But, as I said, it was okay. It had its cute moments but this film doesn't really stand out from other films in its genre... still pretty cookie cutter as far as shoujo romance.

What an awful adaption. The beginning is the most important part of the manga and they completely mucked it up. What a waste of time.

I liked it but I'm blessedly ignorant because I've never read the manga. But I'm a BIG fan of Emi and this is my first Matsuzaka Tori experience.

Wow, it's been a while since I watched this movie! I watched this movie on my flight to Japan. It was such a generic, cliche storyline with cliche characters. My sister saw me watching it and watched it later during the flight. I was so embarrassed, because it was such a generic story and my sister probably thought I liked it.
