the 1st half of the show is practically perfect in every way. sometime around the half way mark it seemed as if the writers didnt know where they were going or what was important to the story they wanted to tell so the viewer is subjected to just about every half cocked idea that came out of the writers room. it gets slow, mostly because they have so much they are trying read more to include that it takes forever to sort through the various story arcs from episode to episode.

what saved it for me was the acting. most of the cast played thier parts really well. i found LSG (who failed to impress me in MGIAG) to be delightful. from top to bottom, excluding Suzy, i really enjoyed the acting (and a near insane need to know what happened b/w WR AND SH.) at the beginning i defended Suzy's performance, but once it got to a point where i was wathcing more for the actors and less for the story her less than stellar acting skills really began to drag the thing down.

It's been a while since I had seen such a great drama!!! It's really worth watching it... so many tears and laughs... I'll never forget it... I really hope there is a second season since the ending kind of hints to a sequel. The last episode made me cry so much, but at the end I was smiling... I'm left speechless... IT WAS AN AH-MAZIN DRAMA

IT ENDS THE SAME EXACT WAY FOR SOME CRAZY REASON. Except Gu Family Book doesn't have a sequel, neither does Rooftop Prince, BUT GFB NEEDS A SEQUEL. It kills me even now..

Because I feel like You Who Came from the Stars is the sequel to Gu Family Book I will never get to see...

Suzy may not be the greatest actress out there, but she had amazing chemistry with LSG. Really loved this cute couple and the story. The OST was pretty good too. I only didn't like the ending. It made me go WTF lol. But still a fast-paced, nice drama with lots of action & loveable characters & touching love stories in it :-)

Is the ending good? I was thinking of watching this but I read these comments and I'm not sure if it makes you feel satisfied. I watched Marry Him If You Dare and that ending left me depressed lol.

I like Gu Wol Ryung's story and his wife more than their child's story!
Also, I didn't like Suzy here oo"

Same! Wol Ryung and Seo Hwa had better chemistry together and the child's story was basically kind of a little repeat... in a way I guess. xD I don't know I kinda felt like it was a little repeat. Haha.

Such a bittersweet ending! The person under the peach tree on a crescent moon!

I didn't, but I really wish I did... The rest of the story is just so average and predictable... And I really dislike Suzy and Seung Gi's acting in this... Though I really liked Seung Gi in most of his other dramas... aigoo...

finished the show and that was a BIG cliffhanger at the end. why would they end it like that this is like the 7th drama i seen that has such a cliffhanger. and the title Gu Family Book it misleading. the only time they mentioned bout the book was the first 2-3 episodes and maybe 2 episodes after that. and i forgot they was searching for the book cause the whole show was focus on who is kang chi?? is he even human?? so overall it was ok drama

I just finished it, the ending was pretty expected for me, I could see that they would do that but then the extra after the credits was where I felt that the directors needed to stop. It was going too far in my opinion.. It's great to know those two are here now, but it should have come before the reunion scene.. Overall, I liked the beginning of the series because it was very exciting and unexpected things happened of the characters, then Lee Seung Gi takes over as the main character and its great for awhile! But then, it really seems to drag on... Don't get me wrong, I loved the drama but did it really have to drag to 24 episodes? There were SO many chances and openings that they didn't take to get Jo Gwan Woong played by Lee Sung Jae (Main antagonist in the story)... I do like this drama and although the chances of a sequel are slim, I still hope for more. =)

I think that I'm the only one that didn't like the couple Kang Chi and Yeo-Wool even loving the drama kkkkkk.

Finalmente terminei. Perdi as contas de quantas vezes coloquei pra tocar Best Wishes to you.
