I finished watching this drama a few weeks ago and forgot to write a review, so, here I am :) First of all I'd like to say that I was introduced to this drama because I read the manga which I am currently waiting for translations... I am a fan of the manga and also a big fan of the drama. LIFE dived into human emotions and really expressed them well. This stroy of bullying takes it to the extreme following a girl named Ayumu. The actors were amazing especially Hosoda Yoshihiko- he honestly at some points, scared the crap out of me! Though, towards the end I started to pity Katsumi and hate him a little less. In my opinion the cast was very well chosen. I watched LIFE straight through because I couldn't put it off- my eyes were glued to the screen. I even ordered the series on DVD 'cuz it's something I could watch over again. I wish this series was longer...though it did capture the concept in the course of 11 episodes ;D I reccommend LIFE to everyone even if you aren't really interested in this type of drama, usually I wouldn't want to watch a drama like this but with life it's an exception.

Holy Crap! Life is insanely good! You need to watch this! Life is a drama like no other. At only 36 minutes per episode, It's a fast pasted thrill ride from beginning to end. At first there are so many utterly terrible things happening that it's hard to watch, but for some reason you can't stop watching. This is do to the amazing cinematography and the infectious OST. The best part about Life is that it has several amazing messages. That's one thing that makes Jdramas so great. There's actually morals in the story rather than meaningless crap. Life has an amazing Christian message to it even though there's no mention of Christianity. Romans 12:21 - Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

This drama is insane! All the characters have problems. Some have psychological problems as well! LOL. But seriously this is a dark drama. Sometimes there were times where I wanted to drop this because I got so frustrated with the characters. Even so, I kept watching because the story kept me interested. I still get chills thinking about Katsumi. He is one sick dude! Overall though I feel this drama is important and everyone should watch. I sure learned a lot=)

Needless to say, this is a drama about bullying. It has all the ingredients to make your emotions overflow; an annoying female student who believes that she is the queen of the school, a crazy (and I mean CRAZY) male character to make you cringe and twitch at his every appearance, betrayal and friendship.

The drama did get a little draggy for my own taste, towards the end, but it does keep you intrigued to find out what will happen. The ending felt sudden but well scripted.

Over all, I would tell you to give this one a try, but be ready for a sudden urge to grab onto the princess'y hair of a certain annoying character!

The story line is very crazy. There is a lot of drama dealing with almost all the characters, not just students, but teachers included. Although the themes are very hard to deal with because it deals with over dramatized bullying, the main character, Ayumu, makes the drama worth watching. She has a strong personality, and the other protagonists make watching the drama a little less difficult. I would recommend watching this, but I would prepare to get angry...

This drama is amazing! And very addictive. The second you start watching it you have to keep going to finish it. I was definitely impressed with the acting and story line. It was really well executed. Although I will warn that this is a dark drama and is not for the faint of heart. So proceed with caution. All in all I enjoyed watching this drama and thought it had good moral value. Will definitely watch again!!!!

This is possibly one of the best dramas I've ever seen.
I heard about this drama long ago but never took the time to go on and watch it. Now that I did, I must say I missed something. I mean, what a drama.
The plot is quite simple, it all revolves around bullying in a japanese high school. Sometimes simplicity is what's best. I was completely hooked by the whole story and its plot twists. So many things happen in just one episode, and they're just 36 minutes long. The writers continuously were on a slippery slope as they had to tell so many things in just 11 episodes but they managed to put as much as needed in each episode. They also did great at handling different themes such as friendship, jealousy, selfishness, betrayal...
The story doesn't drag, and its ending is so cleverly done. I'm no fan of ends with "open doors" but this one was inevitable. Really loved the finale. Felt like the last few episodes were a build up to a climax and it was amazing.

The cast even though I suppose quite young did excellent, everyone was spot on. You know a villain does a great job when you love to hate him.
The characters were coherent and all had a purpose. Maybe the two main big bad wolves went a little over the top with their behavior as I was sometimes legit frightened thinking anyone could do that in real life but I won't blame them since the drama felt overall realistic.
The drama was shot accurately and beautifully and the music was perfectly used. Both managed to create the drama's own unique style and watching an episode was like entering into the series' own world.

I highly recommend anyone who's into dramas in general to watch this one. Uncomfortable and even unpleasant to watch at times, but so brilliant. Really outstanding.

This drama is super dark and very depressive. It's a pure dark version of school, talking about the cruelest reality of bullying, abuse, violence, and suicide.. Here you will meet the most horrible, stupid, disgusting, fake, creppy people ever. Don't think this will have romance or cute friendly moments, it's completely the opposite. Every single person frustrated me, just because they were so real and sometimes I was really pissed off by the horrible people that exist in the world. The actors did great!!
Overall, the drama it's pretty good with a simple story, but I think the music it's really bad. There's actually morals in the story that people should pay attention to. Anyway each episode has arround 30 minutes, so yes, you have to give this a try. (If you are sensitive to this kind of content, then do not see it)

oh my god! LIFE is probably the most outstanding drama i have ever seen!
LIFE is an extremely dark drama that focus' on school bullying and how it effects everyone; teachers, parents and of course, the students.

The acting was fantastic, they all managed to bring out the characters emotions really well, not to mention how freaking scary Hosoda Yoshihiko's acting was!

LIFE is the type of drama that is so insane and unpleasant but at the same time so compelling and brillaint that you just can't stop watching!
So much happens in each episode and each episode leaves you wanting more, another good thing is that each episode is only around 36 minutes long, so it doesnt drag on.

i also want to mention the music, the soundtracks were all perfect background music and fit in with the scenes really well - made me cry and smile and even gave me goosebumps in some scenes!

all in all, this drama is a much watch! i recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for a serious and dark drama, you will not regret it!

For me, 'LIFE' is one of the best dramas I've seen. It made me feel so many emotions. The story is very good but the acting was excellent, a big congratulations to the actors. They made the atmosphere of this drama so real. Kitano Kie who plays the role of Shiiba Ayumu has done a wonderful job and we see her started from poor girl who is harassed to a girl who gets strong thanks to the help of her friends. I saw a girl being harassed, forgetting that it was a drama. I watched this drama so many times but I still cry so much.
I really recommend it!

You should definetly NOT watch it if you’re triggered by seeing bullying, abuse, rape, violence, blood and suicide.

Despite all the insanity that’s going on, it’s a good drama that I recommend. I’ve read the manga several years ago and I have to admit that the jdrama doesn’t live up to it. Still, it’s worth the watch for the story and the bullying issues. Despite some flaws (overdramatising, overacting and the repetitive music that just doesn’t fit at all at some scenes) it’s very emotional story makes up for it. At some points you think it can’t get worse, but sadly it does. I really liked some of the character’s developement, especially the female lead’s mother. Somehow I’m not satisfied with LIFE’s ending. I didn’t expect it to be a happy one but it still makes me feel a bit frustrated and depressed because it might be just like how bullying sadly is continuing and how it is handled in real life as well.

This was so annoying and pathetic I expected better there should have been more violence towards the bully also they didn't even expose her properly. Like Wtaf after going through all that your still being nice to her bruh she should have died. It wasn't intend enough and I was so irritated very disappointed in this DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME! . However the only good thing was when the psyho went to jail and his dad died. That was the only justice served Tbh you might think of me as a Heartless human but bruh these bullies deserve worse, the victim could be scarred for life and become traumatised by the terrifying events.
