She eventually turns the small mom-and-pop operation into a “designer noodle company”. She is a lively and bright woman who comes to meet Lee Se Yoon, the son of a wealthy household who is infamous for his disparaging treatment of all those around him but actually has a gentle side.

Where do I even begin with this drama... Probably one of the most stressful and frustrating dramas I've ever watched, in a good way.. Sort of. I was kind of skeptical of watching this after I saw the number of episodes, I mean 50 is a lot and before this I had never finished one so long. But now that it's finally over I'm really glad I stuck around for this. I read more did like the darker route this drama took, showing a lot of more serious matters and not just developing romance over the course of 50 episodes. I do have to say though that everything that happened in this drama was just SO convenient. I mean this drama was just one disaster after another, and it got real annoying after a while.

The acting was pretty mediocre. I think Eugene and Lee Jung Jin did pretty well in portraying their characters. I wish the writers hadn't made Eugene's character to be such a pushover though, I mean you would think she'd have a tougher backbone after all the ill-treatment she received, but nope. Never made an effort to change that. (That wasn't a spoiler, you'll see that in the 1st episode) And I kinda hate to admit it, but I think Yoon Ah Jung was probably my favorite actor in this drama even though I HATED her character. If she was able to portray a character as evil and wicked as she was, I think she has got some serious acting skills. I mean I hated her with a passion so that says something. Well besides her, everyone else was just okay. Except for Jung Bo Suk... I'm sorry, but I just couldn't take him seriously when he was in more serious scenes. Definitely the weakest link of all the actors.

The music was okay as well. "Living is Not Living" by Jo Hyun Ah and "In Your Eyes" by Jang Hee Young were probably my favorites, but other than those 2 nothing else really stuck out to me.

Overall... While part me is happy this drama is FINALLY over, I'm still kind of sad because I have been watching this from the very beginning. Ever since when it first premiered in January, and I never dropped it or forgot it was on one weekend so I'm proud of myself. This is a drama you definitely have to be patient with to watch. You'll definitely find yourself getting frustrated with the characters choices, but in the end you may be happy you stuck around for it. And just so you know, the ending was the best. I'm so happy with how it all wrapped up. I will probably never watch this drama again, maybe certain episodes, but not all 50. Too much stress.. Definitely check this out if you're ever in the mood for a longer drama, and who knows. You may end up liking this one!

This drama is the best example of a makjang drama. All this tension, screaming, tears, etc. are pushed up to the highest level. It's great. If it was all compacted into 25 episodes. For 50 episodes, there was at least one big disaster, dark foreboding, or just plain screaming in every one. You'll find yourself growing frustrated at each episode and hating more and more characters in the drama, wondering why they're read more doing this when the answer's so obvious.

While the storyline's not the most original thing ever, the main leads did well in portraying the growth and development of their relationship. Eugene's character was the epitome of a damsel-in-distress. Though she had her highlights, the overall vibe that the character gave was a weak woman. Lee Jung Jin was pretty good with progressing through a relationship while following his views. His logic and reasoning was well done in the drama and a character that has depth. Hands down, Park Won Suk was the greatest actress in the drama. Though she's the "bad guy" in the drama, she had the best facial expressions and ways of conveying her emotions and frustrations. Yoon Ah Jung as well was very good at portraying her feelings and reactions.

The soundtrack was alright, though I could do without some of the music at some scenes.

Honestly wouldn't rewatch this again since it's too long and I could do without all this exaggeration in life. I might watch certain episodes just to relive the highlights of the drama, but I won't go through the whole thing again.

I really love this drama. I watched this drama over and over again. It's a family drama and the cast are all good. You can feel that they're a real family. I'm not really into a long episode drama but if you're a korean drama fan this drama is a MUST. The OST's are great. Chemistry between Lee min jung and Jung kyung ho was really amazing!!! You will laugh and cry. Get angry with the other characters but all in all it's a very very good family drama.

Both dramas are more than 30 eps. Both have the whole birth secret storyline and they deal with inheritance of a family company.

I liked it, the romance was very good the slow type of romance which i prefer personally because it's more realistic than an insta-love or a 16 episode drama with a little romance in 5 episodes and misunderstandings in the rest, this one has only one major misunderstand between the main couple in 50 episodes..now don't tell me this is (common) in asian dramas, because it's not.
Yes it was frustrating, the female lead was weak she is unfortunately the weakest link in the drama not because of a bad acting at all but the character she plays,no one like a lovely, naive and Innocent female lead any longer so it's the writer's fault, also there is the second male and female lead who was clingy, obsessed and creepy and their crazy mother was even worse, they are the main reason for all of the hate on this drama (hateful characters but definitely not a bad performance they were amazing in their role as villains) The male lead (Lee Se Yoon) was good character he was strong and determined but they ruined that just a little in the last 3 episode with too much useless drama that caused a rushed ending..sigh

This drama did not need to be 50 episodes.

It felt like this was the longest 50 episodes I've ever watched in my whole life. Typical soap opera drama to the highest level.

The mother in-law and Choi Won Young character made this drama. Characters you love to hate.

It took me 2,5 years to finish this, but I'm glad I did. Some parts are really dragging or more like slapping your forehead aweful, but the overall story is pretty good. I think this series would have been better with about 20 episodes or so less, but this is what we got. Ending is considering the entire story satisfying, although a tad unrealistic. But hey, that's dramaland right ;)

I am really a sucker for dramas like this coz I like My Daughter SeoYoung, New Tales of Gisaeng, Yellow Boots, and now A Hundred Year's Inheritance. Those makjang elements just make you feel addictive to those dramas.
Going back to the review, I think the casts acting is great, I hated Chul Gyu evil MIL, SIL character so much. They are so annoying but it would be boring without them as well. I don't really like how Eugene character is so weak most of the time, she did stand up for herself but still appear so naive and forgiving for me. Regardless, I like the relationship Lee JungJin and Eugene has in this drama.

I hope this isn't a spoiler, but I loved the birdcage and I felt like it was a well placed symbol. I decided not to listen to the commentators and watch it for myself to decide whether it's good or not. I am a supporter of Eugene's acting so I couldn't resist either.

After spending time to read all the comments and reviews above, I decided not to watch this. Because it's too long, because I heard it's very stressful. People need to watch more entertaining ones than this since that's the main purpose.
By the way I'm confused about the ratings, it got 1st places almost all of the episodes o.O
(yes I'm the type of person who doesn't want to go watch drama directly without reading something first lol)

I've just finished watching this drama and honestly I'm glad it's over. If it wasn't for Lee Jung Jin I probably would have given upon it at the very beginning. It's very long, most of the time badly written and truthfully boring and predictable. I skipped quit a lot of parts because I got bored.
Still just because it didn't fit my taste doesn't mean other people won't like it. There are certainly funny parts in it as well.
