I have waited to watch this for about 3 months. During the last month I was constantly searching for it every day just to see if it was out. And when I finally found it u can't believe how exited I was.!! >_<

YeoJinGoo who's only 16 irl and playing the character of HwaYi was amazing. He has many scenes and the story was overall about him. His acting and performance was read more spectacular. The upbringing he had in this "family" containing 5 fathers and a women who was taking care of him. The things he had to go through and how it affected him. Him still being so soft and sane inside while hurting. Him laughing, crying, hurting, fighting and getting furious. The look in his eyes when he realized everything. OMG. I bet he's getting an award for this. Korea is all over him saying he's gonna be THE next TOP actor. Seriously the guy is only 16 but looks around 20. I can't believe I'am saying this but I LOVE HIM. He's smoking HOOOTTT and 4 years younger than me. His voice is so mature and sexy…. ahhh I'am boiling. xD
Every one of them deserves an award. The actors playing the father were great at their roles. They had me hooked on the spot.!!

The storyline was amazing. The concept of the monster and the symbolic meaning behind it was very well-thought. I looooveeed the action, fighting and car scenes. It was just perfect. I loved the pace of the story too. There wasn't a single moment I was bored.

Warning: It contains a lot of blood-splatter so it aint for the REALLY weak-minded. But if I was u I would watch it. It's a must watch. Goes right to my top 5.

I had to post a review after seeing this movie! While 'Hwa Yi' does have a fairly simple premise, it is made much more complex by an interesting script and some really amazing actors. The talent behind the production of the film as well as the talent in front of the cameras really shine through in the final product. And of course, I can't say enough about how well-choreographed the action sequences read more are.

This is an absolute recommendation, particularly for fans of the thriller and crime genres.

- Both movies are about kids being raised in a bad environment

- both children kill

- there is lots of blood

Hwayi is a little bit more on the "child" side with the monster that Hwayi sees, while on the other hand it is more serious in China Town. But in the end both movies are perf. :)

Lots of messed up killing and killers, with a little bit of innocence mixed in. Only to find out in the end *SPOILER* they all love/d each other, in their own special ways.

Both gave me the same feelings, and are quite tragic. makes you wonder if you'll just accidentally be off'd if you stumble down the wrong road in korea ahaha

I even couldn't breathe while watching the trailer! Well, I haven't watched the movie yet but I'll do soon, I want to watch it so much! Also Jin Goo is in the main role just like in Circle. I still cannot believe that he was 15 in this movie. (Well it's obvious that he is too young by his appearance, but I didn't expect that much.) On the other hand, I wonder how could they made a movie like this with a 15-year-old boy?! I'm also 15 now (While Jin Goo is 19 now), and if I tell my mom that I'm watching and reading things about violence and thriller, she would say that I have to leave them all. I admire Jin Goo's family anyway. (I'm jealous of Jin Goo, HE IS FAMOUS AND HE IS JUST 19 YEARS OLD!)

    gave it a 7
the acting of the main cast is amazing, side characters acting was very awful, that cop detective guy cant act its like he walked in on this movie and they were like okay you are hired.
the story is cool half way then its stopped, jin goo is the reason i watched it. as always the kid is amazing, his future shall be bright.
the gun fighting scenes are awesome

yea and to be honest like the story just got shitty and even the "plot twist" didn't really add anything because at that point the movie was just eh but the fight scenes were awesome and the only reason I still hold this movie dear was because jin goo wAS STELLAR!!! seriously can't believe he was like 15/16 here only

An awesome movie. Great acting and cast. It was a tad too violent for my taste but thankfully nothing too explicit. The plot only really thickens towards the end so character development is not magnificent but Yeo Jin Goo was sublime in his role. Considering he must have been 14-15 years old when filming this, his performance was remarkable. Would recommend :)

This movie just proves what a phenomenal actor Yeo Jingoo is. Despite being so much younger, he held himself well against much more experienced veteran actors. The awards he received for this movie are well deserved.
