I don't know, i think that If they didn't killed the main actor, making Park jiyeong pair with Seol-hee, it would have been better! Other than this the story is tooo dragged on, it should have had less episodes... other than this why they killed or made disappear so many characters?!?! It's a nonsense drama.
@goatie.. its possible you are correct about the ignorance with which gay couples might be written about, but it could just as easily be ignorance. first theory: It could also be that the doctor just stayed with Natasha out of caring or pity. Just because two men are together it does not make them gay. 2nd theory: there are also bi sexual people, who truly see no difference in what attracts them. I do agree with you that this writer is all over the place tho. Last theory: if the writer picked a male to male relationship in order to make the final couple ( previously pregnant woman) characters compatible moralistically speaking, then it was a poor choice. That is honestly what it looks like because even now she had to give Seo ha joon a REALLY bad disease to make him a bad choice for a future husband for a proper match, so now he is on the same quality level as a divorcee like aurora.
please don't watch this drama.its portrayal and treatment of homosexual characters is appalling. the character in question -- "natasha" -- is one giant stereotype who only seems to be in the story to create drama conflict and be the target of jokes and horrified gasps. because those gay people are funny, right guys, hee hee. he's treated like a servant, made fun of for his mannerisms, and treated coldly by his boyfriend -- who eventually leaves him for the pretty, angsty, lonely girl because hey. fuck you, and obviously he wasn't gay... he just hadn't met the right girl.
here's a gem: when rora and her mother find out that the boyfriend had been dating a man, they are shocked beyond belief. super angry. they say, "what is wrong with that family? the sister dates a married man and the brother dates a man." because homosexuality is totally as shitty as adultery. good job, korea.
anyway hardly any of the characters are likable in the first place. it started out cute and it has its good points but it's really not good enough.
i actually wonder if the writer meant to portray a transgender woman, because while i understand that cis men can present more femininely, natasha uses all of the language a woman would use, right down to calling his boyfriend "oppa". i'm sure there are gay men who are like this in real life but it feels like the writer understands gay men to be just like women, since hey, they like guys.
