Qi Yi is a boss from hell. He is worst than a control freaking dictator. He is the saboteur of office romances. Cheng Liang Liang was tasked by her coworkers to break down the boss' defense and have him lift the anti-office-romance rule.
This is a pretty good drama. There are both positive and negative points (only a few) in it, in my opinion.
I've been thinking of watching this for a really long time, but I didn't really have high hopes, cause I had read some negative reviews about it. I started it on a whim and turns out I was watching it the whole day and couldn't wait to finish it.
Story: I read morereally liked the plot. When I first read it, I thought ok girl falls in love with her boss, that's new... But the way their relationship develops, the whole story in general, the characters, not only the main characters but also the supporting ones, their stories are all very nice and interesting and I really really enjoyed watching it.
Negative point: At some points you might think that things are dragging out too much. And in my opinion they do. This drama could have fewer episodes. The other negative thing, is that the episodes are really long. If you like watching a drama after it's completed, like I usually do, and wanna watch more than one episode a day, you'll probably get a bit tired at some point.
Acting/Cast: 9/10. Almost everyone was great. Aaron played his role sooo well!!! The other main and supporting actors were extremely good as well. Also, there are many good actors in this, like Hsieh Isa and Shen Meng Sheng. At some point I thought Kuo Puff's acting was too much, but yeap, only a couple of times. This doesn't get a 10 out of 10 from me, cause I didn't really like Lin Lyla. She is the main antagonist in this. Although you'll probably really really hate her, I think it's the character. Ding Jia Yu is probably one of the worst antagonists I've seen in all 6 years of watching asian dramas. I think the role was too big for Lin Lyla, she wasn't really good. But I just checked her profile and found out she's really young and this is probably her 1st drama (how did she get such a big role?) so I think, and hope, she'll improve in the future.
Music: I don't really have much to say, I really liked most of the songs. Too bad Aaaron only sang one song in this drama.
Rewatch value: I'd definitely rewatch this drama. It has both funny and sad sences, and some really cute and sweet ones. You can definitely fall in love with the characters, not only the main ones, but almost everyone. They are all so unique and cute in their own, adorable way.
Overall, I really liked it and I'd recommend it. Really nice story, very good cast and music. Eveyone did a good job in this drama, you should give it a try!! ^_^
This is probably after a long time since I watched a Taiwanese drama and I am reviewing with a mind still fresh of "Just You".
Story : The story is very normal, little cheeky and stretched. Its obvious that stories like these are driven majorly by the "guy-girl-living-together-and-trying-to-keep-it-a-secret" plot. The guy shown as a cold and mean jerk whereas the girl is cheerful and enthusiastic. The writers of this story threw the read more"Boss-employee" relationship in this one. And ofcourse, to spice it up, "The Dating Ban".
Acting/Cast : They lightened up the story, they brought it to life. I really liked Aaron Yan and Kou Puff, their characters and how well they portrayed them. Lin Lyla as Ding Jia Yu, did a little bit of over acting (especially her "crying" scenes). The side characters were good, only the weird thing being, in a plot of "Forbidden Love in Office", everyone liked the other employee and ended up in a relationship (except the character of Dean!), if you noticed.
Music : It is simple, less and plain. As always, "Unstoppable Sun" by Aaron Yan is a song beautifully sung.
Rewatch Value : Yes, I have to be honest that despite this drama being stretched to 21 episodes, I do have some moments that I'd wanna look back at and if some of my friends ask me to watch together with them, I would. But, watching it alone in one go again will be very boring as the story will be known and it'll just feel like a drag.
Overall, A light story and if you're looking for Rom-Com (like I was until I stumbled at this!), then this is it, you're reading the right review. Enjoy watching. :)
This drama makes me want to scream the name Cheng Liang Liang every time i see her do something wrong or scream loudly "YAAAY!" ,and I actually did it on the last episode. I laughed so hard this past week while watching it and let me tell you, I LOVED IT *o* <3
of course it's a bit frustrating and stupid (my brain stopped working at some scenes) Like all asian dramas I've watched before. but it's totally worth It
I'm going to miss this couple "Aaron Yan(Qi Yi)/Puff Guo(Cheng Liang Liang)" they are my favorite couple, Soo Cute!, I'm still fangirling over them can't stop smiling and thinking about the last episode and how it ended *sigh*!
A great dorama, really liked. Not very often watch Taiwanese dramas, but this is really worth. Dean handsome general, and Liang Liang is very sweet. Did that ever seek out this excellent dorama. Very easy, fun and fast you are watching.
Really? Because I've never watched a Taiwanese drama (tried once to watch "Fated to love you" some years ago and I couldn't really get into it) and I'm thinking about watching this.
Do you think it's worth my time or will I get bored/frustrated?
Omg, why didn't I watch this earlier? This is such an ADORABLE drama! I just wish that the situation with Jia Yu didn't take up half of the drama -_- Other than that, this is probably my favorite Taiwanese drama! :D
Asians are so freakin OBSESSED with their stupid, ludicrous, despicable love triangles, so stupid. Why can't we have a normal romance drama without this stupid bullcrap??? AISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you seen Cunning Single Lady(Sly and Single Again), it's the same actress as the main character in that drama, Lee Min Jung. It's not a sad one, just cute and romantic... :) And like I said, no stupid love triangles. Another one that was good with no triangles, at least that I remember was Nagareboshi, the only part I didn't like about it was the main character's brother, he was a real donkey, a huge jackass, other than that, it was really good... It's a Japanese drama...
Especially when they're strong and forceful triangles, and sometimes, they know they have absolutely no chance in a lifetime, been turned down countless times and they just don't seem to give up. They're the worst, such as in this drama, his ex, wow, she's a real number, from the moment she pops into the scene to the very end... Honestly, I think these kinds of writers just don't have anything else better to do but to frustrate you with their obsessions with love triangles. And, to be honest, I have to wonder or think that they've been the despicable idiots who were at the failed end of one sided loves and so that's why they're so obsessed and choose to put these dumb, shallow, despicable love triangles, seriously... It's time to get over it and move on and write some good, decent romances...
I watched this when it was airing, and although I wasn't exactly impressed with the show (it has it's up and downs), I will always remember it because of the goldfish. I really, really wanted a goldfish because of this show at the time.
Both my parents decided to fulfill my wish on my eighteenth birthday (a month after it finished airing) when I found out I had got two goldfish!
i must agree with the cute pairing comment. Hmmm how shall i say this, yes this drama might be the typical drama where the scene of heroin "accidental" stumble over clumsiness and hero is there to catch the heroin. However, there's no denying the chemistry they share in this drama that makes me smile everytime i see them together.
True, towards the middle of the drama, the story kinda dragged a little where it focuses on Qi Yi mother and family reunion. But the momentum starts to come back when they focus back towards Qi Yi and Liang Liang's relationship.
If you are the type who likes to watch an easygoing movie, where you want to keep on smiling to the end. Then you should watch this drama.
On the other hand, Xiao Yu, (2nd lead lady), i read few comments in regard to her acting. Hmmm.. im not an actress myself but, even i can feel if the actress is a good ones or need more polishing. Her acting is MEH.
love the pairing of Aaron and Puff. They are so natural. You should watch their behind the scenes. They are always scene flirting with each other. They must meet again for another drama. I really ship these two.
Didn't make it past ep 4 .__. I saw the spoilers for ep 4 and was like "You would seriously lock your BOSS and the OWNER of the house you are staying at out on the rooftop in the middle of the night?" (seriously made me facepalm). The whole "office love ban" rule and the housing and rooming together doesn't make sense to me much. Guy isn't going to propose to you in the office cause he's scared of losing his job.. why can't he just propose you outside of work hours? And you are going to room with a guy (total stranger) that bought the house and paid you back the 4 months or so of the prepaid rent that you made but you insisted that you want to stay there because you found the perfect home and doesn't want to leave? I just find alot of these things really irritating, unrealistic and silly :l I wouldn't mind silliness as long as it connects and is logical but those things aren't logical at all. I heard that the drama gets better after episode 5 but I don't know if I should continue watching it. . .
No problem, "One man's treasure is another man's trash"
If you don't like a drama don't force yourself to watch, just to follow the majority. And it is a bit unfair to look for realism in a work that is fictional. :)
This is a fluffy romance drama which is good for when you are not in a good mood. Or a change of genre. Personally i watched it after Gaksital to heal. ;D
XD I wouldn't consider this drama trash though, just not my taste c: kinda like clothings that doesn't match you that you don't buy but someone else does. I stopped watching it after ep 5. It's true it's a bit unfair to look for realism in a work that is fictional but there are many fictional works in which the author incorporates real life experiences into such as "In Time With You". Gaksital?
I never called the drama trash or claim you did. It is a saying that could mean what interests a person might not be favorable to another (it has several ways of interpretation). Therefore One man's treasure is another man's trash. By the way have you watched gaksital (bridal mask). :D
Ah in see, I just wanted to clarify xD. Sorry we just started talking to one another so I didn't really know what you were implying so I just wanted to clarify :3. oh bridal mask! I haven't watched it yet but I saw the plot summary & thought it was interesting but it's a bit long so I put it on hold till summer break.
