Actor Lee Jae Yoon is getting married! Independent TV producer Shin Hye, self-assured housewife Mi Yeon, and single mom Hae Yeong are a tight-knit group of 40-something friends going through the ups and downs of their lives and loves in modern-day Seoul. Following a drunken work party, Shin Hye ends up spending the night with her much younger colleague, who later wants their relationship to become more than a one-night stand. A movie for adults
Though not necessarily an "adult" movie. This a movie about grown women going through grown women struggles: misogynistic peers, romantic life when all you've been is a housewife, figuring out sexual fulfilment for both partners in a marriage. Real problems that people face. Add in courtship with a younger man, illness, struggling to find beauty in yourself, and you've got a film that's simply for a more mature audience.All the characters go on their journeys, in a way that doesn't feel crowded (a common problem with these ensemble films) and is believable. Our romances hit actual hiccups that you've heard about, and we see a few that some would be mortified to share.
This movie was worth the time investment.
If you haven't seen it and the above might be relatable or appreciated in your entertainment, read no more. Just watch it.
If you haven't experienced any of the above, you might want to give it a try - it's good to see the world through someone else's shoes.
Readily recommended. There are _many_ worse films to watch in this genre.
