This is a really, really lovely drama.

The story is classic and cute. A simple poor girl meets a Rich man, and the poor girl gets pregnant and they have to get married. It's a bit cliche, but it's played out really well. The actors have amazing chemistry, and if you can get passed the... eccentric personality of Gun in the first few episodes, you'll love this drama, (and you'll smile every time you hear that laugh).

The music in the drama is also really good, I enjoy listening to the main songs outside of just when I'm watching the show.

Overall, I think this is a really good drama. Drama it definitely is, in the middle, it's full of angst but has an overall happy ending that makes it all worth it in the end. If you like romance and enjoy comedy and drama (Who doesn't?) You'll enjoy this.

Honest review

Okay to who ever thats reading this im not the type of person to sugercoat things

Positives:
- i actually LOVED the OST well like one song and it's on my spotify playlist
- the acting was really good
- the story line was interesting because i have never watched a drama with that type of storyline before

Negatives (a tiny bit of a spoiler is necessary for context):
- the female lead gets into an accident while like 2 months pregnant so her life and the babies is at stake - her husband had to pick ONE person to save and this woman was saying pick the baby. Right there i actually wondered if this woman had ANY form of common sense. There is a extremely slim ass chance that the child is going to survive ur not even half way into ur pregnancy so it hasnt developed properly. This might be harsh to somepeople but thats the dumbest shit i know that child (no offence) would not survive but u can give birth to many more if ur alive. So long story short her husband choose her and then the mf woman starts getting so mad for a baby that cannot survive regardless.
- the husband even though he was a dick in the beginning started to sincerely love her and had to make a choice between his wife and his child. He always put up this act that he was strong so that his wife could lean on him while balling his eyes out in their babies room. Just like many k dramas misunderstandings occur and the wife didnt even bother asking or shit but jumps straight into getting a divorce.
- one thing i hate the most is excessive pride and thats what the female lead has to the point where it's disgusting. She doesnt want to admit that she was wrong while her ex husband has already admitted it. At this point i just wanted him to move on and find a better woman cause she just continued to get annoying af.

To conclude, this drama is so stressful, i hate the female lead and therefore i could never in a million years rewatch this but each to their own

Thanks for coming to my TedTalk

Fated To Love You is good enough

Fated To Love You was simultaneously funny, touching, and sad. In particular, Jang Hyuk, the ML really delved deep into the psyche of a manic, overbearing, yet loving CEO while, Jang Nara, the FL, tried her best with the pathetic heroine who despite being such a limp noodle managed to capture the attention of two very handsome, very rich men. Lolololol... who writes these things and when will they learn that not every series needs a love triangle?

I loved this so much its very refreshing, but frustrating at the same time, because of the main characters that you are rooting with every episode for the girl to stop being a push over and too nice, and the guy stop being such a asshole. But this the story is so good, because they both are thrown into something with no love and to see this build and then change. I like the way the story keeps on growing on you per episode, with very sad things, misunderstandings, happiness and comedic relief when its needed for the drama to have a perfect balance. One thing I wasn't expecting were the twist they made after halfway through the series that just refresh the story and revive it again in a new light, I would truly recommend this for any who loves romantic dramas.

Hamo hamo

I truly enjoyed watching this emotional roller coaster of a show! It was so much fun, but filled with the right amount of heartache that pulled me in. I was laughing, sobbing and waiting in anticipation for the next scene. The writers know when to bring on a comedic moment and when to tug at one's heartstrings - everything was just perfectly timed!

There's nothing original about the plot - CEO rich guy meets weak girl of a lower pedigree but end up falling for each other despite the circumstances. However, the story was very well-written and nicely produced. Unlike many other k-dramas in which the characters' illogical or unbelievably immature behavior make me roll my eyes and yell in frustration, I found myself being able to relate to the characters and why they acted the way they did. Even when I was raging at Lee Gun's obstinacy and his noble idiocy, I could follow his reasoning. Even the "villain or obstacle-creator", Se-Ra's actions could be justified.

The entire cast really delivered and had great rapport with each other. I like that there was a purpose for each character and the show did not resort to having irrelevant characters for filler or useless sub plots.

Jang Hyuk as Lee Gun showed that he had a wide acting range. It's my first time seeing him flex his acting muscles and I was totally blown away! I am now a fan and cannot wait to see his other works. As Gun, he transitioned so smoothly between intensely heartbreaking moments to insanely funny ones and like one reviewer said, he used laughter many times to show his pain. To be honest, I was never able to adjust to his laugh in the show - it was just too weird for me. However, that did not detract from his overall quality acting. I did enjoy watching the evolution of his hair - it seemed like the stylist had a fun time deciding what style he should take on for every episode. My favourite styles were during later episodes - the changes made a difference. I already found him attractive from the beginning but he looked really hot after one main change. I wish I discovered him earlier!

Jang Na Ra as Kim Mi Young was perfect. She was one of the very few meek female leads that did not irritate me. Even though Mi Young came across as being a doormat at the beginning, Jang Ra Na managed to evoke a sincerity so evident, that her weakness was actually a strength. She was such an earnest, generous, kind and lovely character that I, like Lee Gun and everyone else around her, fell in love with her. The two leads had great chemistry and I loved watching their interactions.

I experienced the Second Lead Syndrome strongly in this drama, and while I was rooting for Lee Gun, I so much wanted Daniel to be happy. Daniel was the perfect cool Adonis - the scenes with his proposal and the way he showed Mi Young that he was letting go of his feelings for her - so creative and touching! I can totally picture Mi Young and him together, creating the 'real' family that he wants. Let's just say I was 60% team Gun, 40% team Daniel. Choi Jin Hyuk is also another tall drink of manliness. I want to see him get the girl so his show "Devilish Joy" is on my watch list. I also added "Tunnel to that list.

Music-wise, to whomever who selected the tracks - GREAT JOB! Each piece fit the mood perfectly and the timing of when the music comes in, also nicely done.

Overall, I am so glad that I did not skip this drama just because it was not a newer release. The ending was so, so satisfying and I would re-watch the show for sure, even the scenes that made me an emotional mess.

I'll start this review by saying that Jang Hyuk is the best.
His acting is SO good (and so funny and over the top), that you can't help but fall in love with his character.

That being said, here's my review:

This drama has it all. The first part is so funny, with many happy, romantic and comical moments when the two protagonist met and the love triangles are set (yes, it's pretty standard material and full of cliches). But then something happens, and all of a sudden you're crying your eyes out.
I'm not saying it's wrong, I'm just warning those of you who (just like me) where looking only for something light and funny to watch.
I felt that the writers had to do a 20 episode story, but with material for only 15 or 16 episodes, so there's a point in the story where you want to kill the characters and their stupid (stupid) decisions...
But, everything is compensated by the acting (and the ending is also a nice reward).
Jang Hyuk as a (weird) CEO is fantastic. I love how the character develops throughout the series.
But he's not the only one, Jang Na Ra is a (very) weak heroine, and the cliche of a poor girl that slowly grows episode by episode.
(I'm sorry for the vagueness but I don't want to spoil anything)
And the support actors are all superb; from Jang Na Ra's protective mother, to Jang Hyuk's hilarious assistant; everybody does a great job.

In short: lots of feelings, good OST and a cliche story that goes on for a little more than I'd liked; but more than great acting makes me tell you that you should give Lee Gun & Kim Mi Yeong a chance ;)

I have watched a lot of drama's and this is probably on of my favorites. I think this one has a place in my heart, because I really relate to the personality of the female lead and how she grew as a person. One think I enjoy about this drama is that there are misunderstandings between the characters but they are quickly resolved. Even with the misunderstanding you can't really get too angry with either one of the characters... they are so lovable. Gun is such a sweetheart. The chemistry that these two have on screen, is beautiful.

Saw the Taiwanese version of this first.

Personally I enjoyed this Korean version more. Found the start a bit hard to get into. Initially the characters were a bit too silly for me. Once you get an idea of what to expect from the show it becomes bearable and even a bit fun. The character Lee Gun made this an enjoyable watch. About as much melodrama as romance and comedy with quite a bit of angst. Personally not a fan of angsty romance, but if you're in the mood for it, enjoy.

It's the best korean drama I've watched for a while (since 2011, that I managed to complete, and not put on "hold")...omo. How sad is that? I loved the Dragon and Secretary Tak's fondness for getting his butt slapped, and the brilliant chemistry between Jang Na Ra and Jang Hyuk. I believe it also gives extra poignancy to people who've watched "Successful Story of a Bright Girl" because some of the lines here about missing each other and reconnecting...it was like the actors were saying it from the heart themselves. About how they missed working with each other, and it was a pleasure to do it again. Although there are several scenes worth skipping (artfully dodged!), I have to give this 9/10, even though the plot is so so cliche and has everything from amnesia to noble idiocy. Great drama! I'm going to write a review for it! (But I'll probably just copy and paste this :D)

EDITED:

I'm sorry. I have to give this 10/10. Despite it having flaws, the one point I deducted were made up by the fact, that I watched Bright Girl first, and to see the evolution in their chemistry (we might never see this pairing together again...weeps) made this drama extra special for me, and one I won't be likely to forget. I can see myself rewatching this 10 years from now, and still being swept in a great (er) wave of sentimentality.

I am well aware that Fated To Love You may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it is one of my favourite KDrama, the first one I ever watched and probably the one I'm most attached to.
I already watched it twice and, upon second viewing, I was surprised to find many, many funny moments I didn't remember at first.
It can be a be a bit (voluntarily) over the top sometimes, but the truth is that this show has many qualities: a solid plot, amazing acting, two perfect leads (Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara have an incredible chemistry) and comedy and drama are very well balanced.
Last but not least, the score is beautiful, especially "Destino"... it breaks my heart.
