I must say this lakorn surprised me! I'm a fan of Nadech-Yaya love team as well as Mark-Kimberly and I thought I'll just give the Nadech-Kimberly a try. And I was really glad I did cause this lakorn became also one of my favorite Thai dramas.

I would not tell you more about the plot since there is already a summary but what would I tell you is why I love this lakorn. :)

Even though it was their first time acting together as a love team, Kim & Nadech portrayed their roles well. There was no awkwardness and they really complement each other. I've seen Kim on her other lakorns but I think her role in here suits her, seen as a spoiled brat but deep down inside she's very vulnerable. As for Nadech, he impressed me with his acting in Duang Jai Akkanee and he still did in this lakorn. What I was not expecting also was their great chemistry! They're so cute together and just made me smile everytime.

As for the supporting casts, I could not asked for anything better. I love the bonding between Kim and her family. For the antagonists, acting was good that it will make you hate them also.

For the music, I like it so much that I've kept on listening to them until I've memorized most of the lines.

A must see drama! If you're still hesitating to watch this, just stop and watch this NOW! :D :D

"Raeng Pradtanaha" (which means:Heated Desires) is a thai lakhorn from 2013 that shows diversity in the social classes through the hate-love relationship between the sassy diva Krathae "Thae" played by Kimberly Voltemas and the adopted honorable and golden-hearted foster-brother of hers Pittaya "Pitt" played by Nadech Kugimiya. Both Thae and Pitt grew up in the same household and were best friends until Pitt left for University. His distance hurt her feelings which makes her lash out on him every chance she gets. Now she literally does everything to make his life miserable and always reminds him that he is only adopted and if it were for her he woul have been thrown away on the streets. But Pitt never surrendered to her bullying and always defended himself against her bratty behaviour. In this way, both becomes enemies. It only becomes worse when Thae decides to ruin his relationship with his girlfriend Rawee played by Mint Nutwara.Ahhh Thae indeed was a refreshing character after i had to endure so many "nice" heroines throughout many lakhorns.

What i love about Thae and Pitt is that there is so much contrast in their chemistry together. They don`t even have to kiss, the chemistry is THERE all the time.Thae is a strong, determined and vicious heroine from the start but when she understand the depth of her despicable actions towards Pitt..she understands that he is the last person who deserves this.So after their marriage she finally changes into a heroine worthy of Pitts irrevocable devotion.Pitt is born as a illegitimate child which was very painful to watch since EVERYONE always reminded and spurned him for it.Even with the obvious care and love from his adoptive family he still grew up thinking himself unworthy of Thae.I felt so sorry for him when even his biological father rejects his presence in front of everyone and declares what a mistake he is.Nadech did so well in expressing the agony and pain Pitt felt in those awful moments. He never losed control or lashed out...he was that much of a patient character. What i also love about him is the way he never could resist Thae.He denied himself of loving her even to himself so much that he forces himself to love Rawee.Thae once said to Rawee that she have never even seen Pitt laugh with Rawee, while he always laughs in the presence of Thae.

I really recommend watching this lakhorn,it has wonderful tropes in the romance genre like hate-love,marriage of convenience,love-triangle,jealousy,passion and fighting for what you believe in.Nadech and Kimmy did an incredible job in here, both performances was phenomenal and their on-screen chemistry was incredible.I love re-watching this lakhorn once every year!

This is my second favorite Thai Lakorn/Drama, I cannot believe I never made a review about this drama. I'll be writing a medium sized review so get buckled up for the world of pleasure that is Raeng Pratana.

Why do I love this drama?
The acting, I've never been a fan of Nadech. I respect him and this is the one lakorn which I have truly appreciated his acting to the fullest event (I've seen two lakorns of him-one with Mew and this one). Kimberley is already recognized for her acting which is truly award winning so no less I am a fan of her since this lakorn, the cast is well acted. I did not like the Nang Rai, Ravee obviously and I felt no remorse for her but she could act. The evil second male lead if you could call him that, Poowadon is acted by Alex Rendell for someone with his build (not saying it's bad he is an amazing guy and actor but his build is not that believable for a lakorn villain who are usually really buff and tall with a non baby face), I thought he was casted wrong for the character he was an evil rapist playboy who tries to win against Pit (Nadech's charecter), by using Ravee or Thae (Kimberley's character), and boy he played the role truly the best by the end I couldn't imagine anyone else to be this slimy jerk of a human being who should have been born as a trash can, I can say Alex Rendell has more to him, than what meets the eye. The rest of the supporting cast did a great job, and I can say I've never enjoyed a lakorn family more than Thae's. This lakorn is also a family part drama so I guess I really loved the acting of the whole cast. Kimberley and Nadech's chemistry, man they should get another section but this is a medium sized review so I need to keep it short, Kimberley and Nadech has this electrifying chemistry and I can say it lives up to expectations and they have chemistry that is definitely as good as Pon and Bua, Mark and Yaya's chemistry, Mik and Aum P (My favorite lakorn couple). This lakorn had no real kisses and without that even you should precede because there is fake ones sometimes, and also the couple never seems like brother and sister because holy cow if you put Nadech and Kimberley in a screen, your eyes will be on them and you'll feel burning and butterflies in your stomach and at this point you would be like: There is no way, they are not dating in real life. (I know I know, I love Mark Kim and I respect Nadech and Yaya but this was my first actual lakorn and I actually believed Nadech and Kimberley were together until I started googling them, I was sad and petty for 5 months no s*** but I became a better person lol). I honestly went into this lakorn, knowing nothing about Nadech and his ability not to kiss anyone than Yaya, and Channel 3 but I thought Nadech and Kim were going to steamy kiss in the first episode, and that's how good their chemistry is and I spilled the Tea. Imagine if Nadech and Kim paired up now with real kisses, it would shake the lakorn world (This is Nadech's highest rated lakorn even without Kisses, so I am not exaggerating) still waiting.
I love the plot. its probably something not really new but I loved it. I love how they loved each other for forever and I loved how they bickered but it was evident that they couldn't take their eyes off each other. I did not like how Pit felt that he did not deserve Thae due to simple status but its something I do see in Asian Movies and Dramas, being an Asian American myself. So I could let that slide.
Before you drop this at episode one, because even if you think Nadech and Kim have good chemistry but you cannot look past the spoiled female lead, think twice or triple times because Thae has some serious character development, by the end I loved Thae and was kind mad at Pit haha.
The characters were also complex so it takes sometime to get used to them turns out Pit isn't just our Nice Male Lead (though I would say he is least complex out of the main cast), but these characters are well written and its just amazing to think of how complex, and the dynamic change as the female lead at the start is your typical second female lead and the second female lead is the main female lead but it soon changes and I believed the essence was really amazingly caught and I loved this lakorn again.
I won't write more, and please watch this lakorn. Trust me I am doing you a favor, this is a long lakorn and dramacool has is uploaded within 30 episodes so if your at episode 16 and your like "No character development meh" remember that is only halfway into the lakorn, and it is a slow burn so...Never skip around with this drama if you do, you won't get to see changes. I hope my review and advice helped on you deciding if you should watch this lakorn or not because truly I recommend you to, now you don't have to follow me but it's your loss...LOL

This is one of those dramas where u know readin the summary it will be a tear jerker...and on one of those days when u want a super loaded with chemistry yet cute romance story, this is it!

The heroine is a spoilt one and the actress is awesome in her role...super hot and cute. The hero is gr8 as well. Their chemistry is off the charts...no kisses at all yet I finished it, bcoz lord there were some cosy scenes and they were incredible.

I loved the leads and the mean kiddo second lead/villian...he was soo cute trying to be mean....

This drama is worth a watch totally.

Kimberley Anne Woltemas looks her most georgeous. But I hate the sight of Nadech Kugimiya. The only 2 cases I was able to tolerate him: 2010 'Ngao Ruk Luang Jai' (a very humble role), 2017 'Leh Lub Salub Rarng' (a funny role, in which he was not much in the way of my admiring Urassaya Sperbund's impressive rise in acting skills). The reason I'm mentioning this is any lakorn having him as a pra'ek has HUGE minus with me from the start.

But if I'm something as a drama viewer it's this: I am open. If the portraying characters and their drama and their romance shall be likeable, I am capable to get past the unlikeable cast. So I gave this lakorn the same chance as to any other.

The beginning was funny. The stupid rich girl was nailed by Kimmy. She made me laugh in her very 1st scene, while getting angry she called the guy named Pittaya "You... Pittbull!" LOL. I might not physically like Nadech but at least he's got his acting right. The tension between him and the rich girl was priceless. So far good, then.

Then there's a scene of Nadech smacking Kimmy's backside like a little kid's and then answering his phone saying: "I'm not done with work yet." LOL. Actually the characters know each other since childhood so it's kinda sweet. And that's all episode 1. Needless to say this was NOT the case where I would be skipping through the first episode listlessly, looking for something to at least remotely catch my interest (I am the WORST audience, when it comes to 1st episodes;) Oh no. This got my attention from the start:) So, I accepted the cast and continued watching.

What I didn't enjoy was there was a third party involved (yeah, this is a triangle story:-( Anyways, Kimmy's character of a spoiled girl is so clearly jealous it's obvious what feelings are the source of all her attacks. For her, there was nobody else since childhood, but that is not the case with him. As Min Natwara portrays a girl dangerously beautiful and poised, especially in compare with our naughty nang'ek. Opposite her we have Alex Rendell's super-annoying "playboy" (read: man whore) who's 2 years her junior and can't even remotely match her in sophistication.

Now, Phit wants to quit working for the rich girl's family. Instead, he is told he has to train her as he is the only one who can handle her, lol. This starts in episode 4. I hoped for her that with time she'll get better at work, there is nothing cool about being stupid.

Episode 6 (or, as I'm watching the "double number - half the runtime" version, approx. episode 3), Kimmy's naughty nang'ek encounters Alex's play boyo. Now, they would be a pair I'd enjoy watching;) Could Nadech just leave? LOL. Unfortunatelly, Alex is stuck in his silly side-role where he like ostentatiously grabs Kimmy's ass just because he has the fleeting opportunity to feel her up. He offers her a kind of joined-enemies collaboration (on splitting the Phit & Ravee couple up). She doesn't deem him worthy of even that and just leaves. I agreed, the girl portrayed by Min Natwara was clearly out of his league.

Meanwhile Thae, the spoiled rich girl grows more emotionally mature in her love for Pittaya, the only problem I had with connecting to his lovely story was that he looked like Nadech Kugimiya. Sigh. If he looked at least like Alex Rendell. But like it was said, Alex can be either Kimmy's "sleazy side-guy", or upcoming love interest of... Min Natwara? According to the poster, they should become second couple. I still cannot imagine their two characters happily together. Plus Natwara is older than Alex.

I must say that the way Thae redeemed herself with Phit & Ravee couple, and even more the way she then handled Alex's play boyo, really impressed me and since then I cheered for her and was all Team Thae:) Rarely I do see in lakorns a nang'ek who behaves the way I like. Pitty she didn't stop just after the newspaper post.

Kimmy's nang'ek then scores even more sympathy points with the audience... Her story with pra'ek since childhood through her being ostentatiously scornful of his lower status up to her quest to actually reveal his birthright which then backfires, and brings even more despair to her is more engaging than usual stories of nang'eks in lakorns. Kimmy portrayed it very well, pitty she wasn't there with some other guy... So, during the annoying triangle with Min Natwara's side girl recurring again and again to claim him, I felt like saying: "Yes, just take him if you want him so much and please could you send any guy that doesn't looks so gay in his stead, thank you." LOL. I just wanted her "drama" to end, or could she head off to have her own side-romance already?

But it's still impossible to imagine Natwara & Alex's characters as a second couple, with her still so desperate for Nadech's pra'ek and him practically acting a villain. Kimmy's nang'ek first handled him in very smart way, then sadly ended up acting very stupid (in order to get rescued by pra'ek, of course:) When Alex's character almost commits crime and is about to indirectly cause death of a person, I found it a bit too much. He's hardly to be viewed as a romance character after causing such tragedy?

Luckilly, it doesn't quite come to that. But obviously there's still long way to go. Kimmy's nang'ek is suffering alone, Nadech's pra'ek just takes high moral ground and she's the one left ridden by all doubts. He still has his other love interest to deal with... Overall I still liked the acting performance of both the leads. And the oldchool romance story. I started enjoying it after I settled in it, and I thought this definitely was one of the better ones both Nadech & Kimmy starred in.

After the wedding (in half the series) there's plenty pra'ek-nang'ek scenes to enjoy but I just cannot ship a couple that has Nadech in it. I just wanted the second couple's story to start.

Be careful what you wish for. The second couple's "story" starts with rape. That really is what Alex's character is in here. So, this lakorn might be one of the better ones for Nadech & Kimmy, but definitely not for Natwara & Alex. She gets warned that he is a rapist, so she goes and visits him alone in his apartment. It's like bad parody. Thus, Natwara's character WON'T have her separate story and shall keep meddling into the main couple. I don't like such stories. By 1/2 of the series, I catched myself zoning out. I considered dropping this.

Seriously, Kimberley Anne Woltemas was too good for this. Apart from her, there was nothing much watchable. I just honestly wanted it to end, as I was neither able to enjoy the line with Nadech, who physically repulsed me, nor with Alex, who was repulsive character.

Read this please, because maybe this isn't for you.

Spoiled and arrogant female leads are one of my fave types of characters, especially because they involve a lot of character development that makes you think that not all people can be nice at first you just need to guide them. Well, the fl did her part in improving herself and apologizing for all her mistakes that involved ruining the relationship of ml and second female lead. The arrogant female lead has now softened up and becomes aware of other people's feelings.

BUT the ml has definitely disappointed me during the last few episodes, imagine your own husband ALWAYS LIKE ALWAYS going to another woman to save her and would prioritize her at all times and saying I'm just there as a friend, even if the fl doesn't comfortable about it, only the densest person in the world would do that and that is our ml. AND the ml would ALWAYS put the second lead's words over our fl believing what the second female lead said with no evidence at all, like have you not noticed that the fl is actually a better person that she was before? I think she had already established that with her trying her best to better herself. (I did a lot of skipping, because it was too much, the last few episodes had these scenes of the ml just being there for the second female lead and always leaving our fl).

Also, fl's family kind of pissed me of when they would always tell the fl to forgive the ml so easily, are we just going to ignore that the ml went to another woman?

I don't particularly hate indecisiveness in characters because it would soon get resolved, but in this drama the indecisiveness in the ml really had to come out on the last few episodes wherein the fl and ml are now officially together as they know they're inlove with each other. I didn't see any improvement in our ml either, they mostly just glossed over it and then just ended it there.

I think this gives me a lesson to myself that being nice to everyone to the extent of leaving someone else (a friend, family, and especially a lover) to attend to another can be detrimental to a relationship, as it causes misunderstandings, and neglect. There's always a limit to what we should do, and boundaries we should make that other people should follow.

Absolute Disaster

This drama has the most stupid Male Lead. He is a douchebag and puts through both FL and SFL through hell for his selfish reasons. When I saw the Nice Male Lead tag, I thought ML will be a good man but he strings between two girls throughout the entire show.

All the characters are very plain. The romance isn't that great either. The show keeps repeating same thing over and over again for the entire 15 episodes and the plot doesn't move further at all. .........................................................................................................................................................................

Très déçue Skipp it !
